I went to the Adirondack car wash to use the self service dog wash area. When I walked in, it was…read morerelatively clean and so that was a plus. You are able to use your bank/credit card, which is how I paid for my dog wash, so, with one swipe it charges you $10 for 10 minutes. I brought my own dog shampoo therefor I cannot tell you what their shampoo is like, or whether or not I like it because I used my own. I have a chocolate lab so he was relatively easy to walk up the ramp and into the tub. There is a tether so that my dog couldn't escape while I was bathing him. The water initially was kind of cold so I was concerned about that, but it did warm up nicely after about a minute. I was able to give my chocolate lab a mediocre bath but I went over my 10 minutes, the equipment will allow you to go to 15 minutes and charge you $15 before it shuts off automatically. I guess this is a good thing in case you forgot to turn it off, you won't get charged for anything over 15 minutes. So I had to swipe my credit card a second time so that I could finish rinsing the soap out of his hair and begin to dry him with their air dryer. They do have an air dryer with a relatively long hose, but the velocity that comes out of the air dryer is at a very, very low setting. So if you have a dog with an undercoat like a Labrador retriever as I do, 15 minutes will not even get close to drying his fur. I was charged for 2- 15 minute intervals at $15 each time and came home with a pretty wet dog. I think next time I will drive the extra 20 minutes and go try a different facility and hopefully can come home with a relatively dry dog. I'd be happier with spending $30 and using my own shampoo if at least he was clean and dry.

But, they also fixed (or faked) other 'problems' that we didn't ask about, for a total cost five times what we expected going in! We took our car in for an A/C recharge and oil change. Somehow they decided we needed new wheel bearings ($$$), even though we weren't having any problems. We couldn't even tell that they actually did anything. When we came to pick up our car, Boyer's had drained the battery to the point where the dash wouldn't light up. We had never had a problem starting the car prior to this. So we had to leave it there. When they replaced the battery a week later, they not only charged us the full price for the problem they had caused, they also tacked on some small charges for other 'fixes' we hadn't approved. This included new headlamps (I happen to have checked the headlamps just before bringing the car in and they were working fine then) and adding oil (I guess they forgot they had just changed the oil!)

Boxley's has two locations and in addition to auto detailing they clean homes and businesses. I went in last Friday Morning and they were immediately ready for me the customer service rep took me to the waiting area and the owner happened to be in at 9:00 a.m. He had me wait in the office/ waiting area, offered me a beverage turned on the Today Show for me and was so cordial and friendly. This was my first visit and he was so warm and welcoming. I chose the Ultimate Vehicle Bath which included a hand wash, tire dressing, Interior vacuum, Interior dash wipe down. The windows were cleaned and they applied spray wax. They also did additional detailing which I didn't ask for but I appreciated such as console clean, rim shine. I gave the service crew an additional tip for the extra service. My car looked brand new. I will definitely be back and would recommend their services.

Approximately 2 weeks later on a trip to Nashville Tennessee the repair failed while drivng down the highway 1100 miles from home. The failure almost caused my tire to fall off. I was able to get it to the side of the highway and towed to a local garage. Without any prior knowledge of a recent repair the mechanic in Tennessee noted the cv axle nut was cross threaded and caused the failure. When approached, Lee got defensive and claimed by the pictures he saw it was caused by a different part in the wheel even though the mechanic who had hands and eyes on it noted the failure was caused by the cross thread. Instead of taking responsibility Lee decided to lie about his conversation with the mechanic in Tennessee and then proceeded to offer me less than half the cost of repair in order to make this go away. Now im forced to sue him and make sure everyone knows the hack job his garage did. ​​
