Out of all the membership locations for Hoffman car wash, this is my very favorite, because here in the North, no one has anywhere to wash your vortex floor mats (no mat machines) - this place has a DIY self serve car wash that can be used for mat cleaning and has clips on the wall. Staff was great and even was so kind as to jumpstart my car when it died from my son listening to Blippi while I did the vacuuming and detailing. One thing to note, as I've seen in previous reviews around the vacuums - they were in working order and had great suction. In times past, if you let them know, they will check for blockages. The membership is a bit on the higher side, but this is likely due to so many locations that may or may not be owned by the same person. All in all will be back read more

Heard a noise indicating strange impact on the drivers side of my car at the end of the car wash. After noticing scratches on the side spoiler, I contacted the manager Sam, who acknowledged the damage was caused by tire cleaner. He referred me to Sam Alden, who also acknowledged, upon reviewing video, that damage got worse after going through the car wash but was caused by high pressure wash. Funny how it only affected the area where I heard the loud noise. Nothing worse than a company that wont accept responsibility. Stay away at all costs. Lots of car washes out there. read more

I love Hoffman's car wash, but be careful on busy winter days. I think lots of debris can build up and cause very fine scratches in the paint. I have a car that I am very persistent about inspecting for dents and scratches. I just had my front bumper painted and waited three weeks before going through the wash. After inspecting it, the freshly painted bumper is scratched with consistent, matching scratches on the rest of the car. Now it will need to be buffed. So be careful on busy winter days, or maybe go first thing in the morning. read more

How disappointing when someone who is trusted with the knowledge of very specific NYS requirements for car inspections refuses to pass a car with a marker light out stating that "every light needs to be in working condition for a vehicle to pass inspection." Unfortunately for me this is a false statement. What NYS requirements list is the following: Headlamps (low and high beam) Tail lamps Stop lamps Directional signals Backup lights (1969 and newer) License plate lights Hazard warning/four-way flasher (1966 and newer) Directional signal indicator And all of those lights listed on the NYS Inspection list were functioning properly. What was not working was a single marker light- not required for passing inspection. But he insisted that it was a daytime running light- sorry buddy but 2002 cars of my make and model didn't have daytime running lights. Also, daytime running lights don't turn off when you turn the headlights off- LIKE THESE LIGHTS DO ON MY CAR! Worse still, if this was a daytime running light, they're not even required in NYS!!!! My God man! What a waste of my time over ignorance. Even when presented with factual information this fool just dug in his heels without even considering he might be wrong. Life long customer lost. Beware stupidity. It will waste your precious and valuable time. III read more

dont waste your time or your money. very very weird that they don't or won't prewash your car before sending it into the tunnel, to have all that sand (they could have mostly rinsed off) just ground right into your paint. literally thousands of micro scratches. They really don't give about your car, to them its just for the money and NOTHING else. read more

Car wash itself is fine. The attendant at the machine was friendly and helped advise me on the best of the three options for our type of car. I don't know what car washes cost these days but seemed reasonable enough. My complaint/issue is with the vacuum machines in front of the car wash. I tried two and they were utterly useless--wasted my money and still have a pretty dirty car interior. read more

I've been taking advantage of the great deal our new Hoffman's carwash in South Glens Falls on route nine and Reynolds road offered. Unlimited visits for only $19.99 per month for 3 months. Unbelievable. They've had a few problems as new businesses do but have dealt with them professionally, very quickly and fairly. It's a great location and already really popular. The vacuums are powerful and free. The wash only takes about 3-4 minutes but does a fantastic job and your car leaves shiny and dry. I'll give them this, their customer service is great. I previously mentioned how their car wash failed to clean my back window of my 2014 Ford Focus SE hatchback & someone reached out to me, offering me a wash card to try them again. I accepted, and just recently went back to use it before I leave the state for college this weekend. Unfortunately the same thing happened again. The machines just fail to get water under the small overhang my car has, like many other cars, and leave soap/suds in my back window. I can clear some with my back wiper, but usually I end up either having to use a self-service wash or wash it myself again back home to get the part the wipers can't reach just because for some reason that's an area the machines just continuously seem to miss unfortunately. But their customer service is pretty great here, so if you don't have my type of car, or any type of hatchback with that overhang, then I definitely would say give it a try at least. read more

This is why yelp needs a Negative stars option .The worst. Went with a friend to get her 2016 Toyota carolla detailed. It was returned with what looks and smells just like cigarette burns. When we confronted them. They went on to make us look like an in the wrong criminal. Asking if "we got the car new." And almost insulting our intelligence. Well fuck you. They said they "checked the cameras" and "they don't even touch up there." So unless you want your 6 month old car ruined, don't get it detailed here. Apparently they don't "touch" certain areas anyway. The most incompetent management I have ever met. They don't give a damn about their customers. I have the all you can wash car wash program for both of my cars and at least 4 times in the last month I've gotten my car washed at this location and they did not give me tire shine. I swear they're being systematic about it just to save some money. It's totally random now whether or not they do give me tire shine and as a result I'm thinking about discontinuing my monthly membership and going elsewhere. You want to get what you pay for you know? Lines can be ridiculously long for a wash here too. Like 15 minutes long. Stop holding up the line to sign up new customers for the all you can wash...have them pull to the side. Duh. Whether it's their computer system or the tire shine apparatus that's broken or that they are just cheap and are trying to save money, I do not know but when your car fails to get tire shine that many times, it's certainly indicative of a problem. I've gotten tired of having to pull back around to complain to the flunkies working the computer. They seem clueless and no customer should have to do that. These days I'd say there's a fifty fifty chance I won't get tire shine. read more

I moved here from Florida and I can tell you I truly miss the car washes there. Every car gets vacuumed as soon as you pull up. They had two people, one on each side. They pull the carpets out and clean them also. Then before going into the tunnel, they sprayed prewash all over the front, back and sides. They used a big bucket filled & dipped they're brushes & would go over the grill, tires & anywhere that needs that extra scrub. It then goes through the tunnel and then they pull the cars under huge tarps in the shade. They have two lanes wide. About 5 people get busy. Two go inside and clean the windows & clean the dash, doors, console etc. The three outside start hand drying the car with towels. They open the doors & clean around all of the doors & hatchback. Then they open my gas lid and clean the inside of it. They then would call you over to walk around the car & if you see ANYTHING they get busy cleaning. They would ask what kind of freshener I'd like and would put 3-4 under my front seat. They had a huge secured glass/plastic tip container, locked that everyone put tips in. Nobody never left less than a $5.00 tip. My car looked better than when I bought it off the showroom floor. I sure miss the quality service. Car/truck wash $23. Hand Wax $40. I just don't get that kind of service here. If I had the money I'd open up a Car Wash just like they have in Florida. It would draw a lot of customers. At Hoffman's I have to ask to go through a second time. Still dirty plus drive away wet :(( read more

I wish I could give 0 or even negative "stars". Anyway, we needed a NYS inspection, and our usual place was unavailable. So, on the recommendation of a couple people we went to hoffman. BIG mistake! First off, I should have gone with my wife! They came out and told her that she needed a driver side wiper blade. I would have stopped them right there. The wipers on the vehicle are only about 6 months old! So, they charged us $29 for a garbage wiper blade! Now, it gets worse. Next, they told her a wheel stud broke when they removed the tire. My wife was told they would still pass it because that wasn't her fault. IF that had broken on the way off, they would have come out and told her it needed to be replaced to pass NYS inspection! Instead, they let her leave illegally!! So, she gets home with 4 out of 5 lug nuts on the car! They were nice enough to leave the broken stud/lug nut in the console. First thing I did was inspect the break. As I figured it had broken going on. You could easily tell from the direction of the spiral fracture. Now, I go about replacing the broken stud. What do you suppose I find? You guessed it, ANOTHER cross threaded lug! I ended up having to change 2! My advice is simple. Stay away from hoffman for anything!!! read more

I visited the Hoffman car wash on Quaker road in Queensbury today. I had a situation where I was not totally satisfied with the end result of my car wash. I spoke with Joseph the manager about my displeasure. If they had a rating system for customer service I would give Joseph a five out of five. I took my new car for an ultimate wash, and $15.00 later, it was dirtier. It would have been nice, if clean water was used. The car wash manager was very professional and offered a code for another car wash, however I received the same results as the first car wash. The only reason for the 3 stars, was due to the manager, otherwise it would have been 1 star. read more

I went to shampoo my carpets and the spot cleaner didn't work. I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come out. They finally came out and said it was fixed and they gave me extra time but then two seconds later it stopped working. Will go to another car wash next time. Not worth the hassle. read more

My daughter is off to school and my wife asked her when her car (which she left home) needed the oil changed. She didn't have a sticker showing her last oil change and she didn't remember. So I took it to Jiffy Lube on Quaker Road. I told the technician it was wasn't my car so I wasn't familiar with the service history. When I arrived home and look at the paperwork I discovered she had it serviced there about 10 weeks ago and had put less than 1,100 miles on the car since her last oil change. Why wouldn't have the technician told me that if the recommended oil change interval on the car as stated on the form was 6,000 miles? All I can conclude is that it was a slow day (I was the only customer when I arrived) and someone's bonus was on the line at the end of the month. Service-based businesses gain a lot of trust when they tell you you don't need something done and lose a lot of trust when they perform an unnecessary service. I had already cut back on the frequency with which I came to Hoffman's due to previous issues but this is the final straw. read more

I have been a customer since this car wash first opened, I must say this is the TIME that ended it for me. I went in on a Sunday, I washed my car. A 2005 Ford 500 that is not in perfect shape but, very good for the year. I later noticed after I went directly to my daughters house there we several scratches on the left rear bumper when I was detailing the tires. I wash and hand dry this car at least once a week. I had not been anywhere these scratches could have occurred. I filed an incident report with the M.O.D. was told at the time that I would be contacted, later that evening I received a email stating that I was to contact their Manager who reviewed such matters. I did, from the start it was clear NOTHING WOULD BE DONE. I took time from my day to drive down. He proceeded in inform me IT COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AT THE CARWASH! THAT IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE they would have to paint the entire bumper. WHICH AGAIN I informed there were preexisting imperfections. The point is I am certain the damage I pointed out to him DID OCCURE there. I have looked this car over every week since I bought it, and am aware of every imperfection on the car. It does not matter to Me if the car is 2005 nor does it matter that 30 or 100 cars came before or after. What matters is MY CAR WAS DAMAGED. I mentioned this to a friend and guess what her husbands BRAND NEW TRUCK WAS ALSO DAMAGED! Further more, I still have a card with a wash on it, not to be used! Suffices to say I will inform everyone I know of this treatment. read more
