Outdoor dining at the church which was a plus, we had drinks and fries (too salty) while we waited under the tent for a seat, and then we're seated after about 45min wait. Interestly the church bells tolled at irregular intervals, we wondered why at :55 and :09 they went off. Timer issue? Bartender was great, super friendly service there. Small wine and beer list which was simple, good for an easy decision. The burrata was excellent as a starter but could have used some toast points or similar. The hangar steak was tough and lacked much flavor; the sauce was just so-so for me. The single scallion could've been better as a single asparagus or similar. The bean burger was a hit with my fellow diners though. Meatballs as an appetizer at the next door table looked and smelled awesome though. Will try another time. One downside was dirty drinking glasses; two had lipstick stains on them (as three guys, not us). Quick to replace but might want to get on that washing, and for some reason the guy clearing tables tried to clear our dishes early twice during the meal. Check was quick and efficient. Overall a nice epic view of the church and nice spot to grab a beer and small bite. Next time more appetizers.

Hanging out with some really cool friends and met up at Inside the Park. The food was okay. We had the Seafood Amarillo, it was a cold soup seafood medley with Calamari, Rock shrimps, Scallops, and ajo amarillo and potato croquettes (a side of breaded potatoes) and it complimented the soup well. Trying a hot dish next time. I was not really into the Amarillo cos it was a cold dish. Jay's drinks hit the spot and service was on point.

I can't tell you how many times I've walked past this place when making my way from 57th street down to grand central. I took a mental note to drop by one day and today it finally happened. It's a great spot for after work drinks & an app. I'm not entirely sure what the indoor dining space looks like since we sat outdoors, but I couldn't imagine anyone passing up sitting on the terrace when the weather is nice. I like the Social Hour/Happy Hour options. Unfortunately the meatballs & artichokes were sold out when I arrived for my 3:45 reservation. Thought that was very odd since there's only 4 food options for social hour... In any case we shared the grilled octopus, which was phenomenal. My friend ordered it again for an entree. Unfortunately, I went for the Oricchette. It disappointingly bland. The sauce had no flavor. Tried adding fresh pepper -- didn't do much. If my Riesling wasn't so good i would have given this 3 stars. But I'm willing to come back to try other things before coming to that.

Decent place for lunch. I really enjoyed the appetizers- Burrata and meatballs. The chicken sandwich was OK... it was mostly breading and not much chicken so a bit disappointing. Our waitress, Leanne was phenomenal. Just super nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. Our party also got a bottle of wine which was really good. The inside was cooled on this hot summer day and not too crowded which was even better!

Order: - Froze (4/5) - Pretzel Bites (5/5) Pros: - Great outdoor dining set up - Kind service - The pretzel bites were SO good - Good happy hour menu Cons: - I wasn't all that impressed with their cocktail menu - I wish there were more appetizer options Overall: I good happy hour spot to go to with your coworkers after work

Came here for a work team dinner and the outdoor seating are was pretty nice. The items on the menu were all pretty pricey but luckily this was on our corporate card. The food was good for the most part, but not high enough quality that I would ever pay that price for it myself.

I am seriously surprised this place has such low rating on Yelp - definitely way underrated! We came in on a Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and the place was packed, mostly with business professionals, so better make a reservation. The restaurant shares space with an active church (St. Bart's), how cool is that?:) the vibe is amazing. We had Tuna Tacos for appetizer, I had Crab cakes (one of the best ones I've ever had) and my fiancé got pasta with shrimp and lobster - that was a favorite of the night. The pasta was so good I kept stealing from his plate ha ha :) We ended the night with Guava cheesecake, definitely a must try! And I don't even like cheesecake! Overall - great place for a night out or a business lunch. For more fabulous places check out my Insta page @daria.newyork

Had a great lunch outside on a beautiful day today. Such a relaxing atmosphere and very fast and good service. Had fish taco was good tasting but little cold. Buddy had pests chicken sandwich he said it was very tasty and fresh. Quick service in and out for a nice relaxing lunch hour. Only block from my office is nice too.

As we had our cocktails we discussed going somewhere else as the vibe was flat. But my husband convinced me to stay as it's already 8:30. We head upstairs to our table, only to be greeted by another less enthusiastic server. He never told us his name or offered up any menu highlights. I was excited to have bone marrow and escargot. Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. Just all around a poor experience and a disappointing Friday night. There are far better places that appreciate your patronage. We will not be coming back. Not worth it.

The host came across as indifferent / borderline rude, which set the tone from the start. During dinner, when our second round of drinks arrived, the server seemed unsure where they belonged~even though the original glasses were still clearly on the table. The food itself was fine. The standout dish was the lamb tartare, which was excellent, and to be fair, everyone's meat was cooked exactly as requested. Overall, it was an okay meal, but based on our experience, it didn't quite match the level of praise suggested by the reviews.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

The bartender knew the drinks inside and out and was able to make some good recommendations. We had the Profunda and two of us had the Imprimatura. Creative, thoughtful, balanced! We also ordered spiced nuts and half a dozen oysters, which were fresh and tender. The bar area was modern and lovely so we were almost reluctant to depart when our table was ready! However, that reluctance dissipated when we entered the bright and airy dining room. It felt like we were eating in a very upscale greenhouse! Great natural light made for a relaxing atmosphere. We opted for the 3-course menu as we had plans to tour the museum afterwards and couldn't fathom doing so after the 8-course tasting menu! We also did the add-on wine pairing. Initially, we were going to order a bottle of wine but the wine list is 150 pages long, and why tie yourself to one varietal? Before the meal even began, we enjoyed 2 amuse bouche offerings; a fish confection and jamon serrano on crackers We started with the eggs on eggs on eggs - completely worth the supplement; unctuous, umamai, decadent. A symphony of flavors and textures. Since there were 3 of us, the server thoughtfully brought out 3 toasts so we could easily share. Before the "real" food started arriving, we were also brought a marble loaf and light, airy butter. Two of us started with the chilled lobster starter; one had the white bean cappelletti. The white beans were the standout! The garlic flavor was a beautiful compliment to the meaty morels without being overpowering, and we were very glad for the marble loaf to soak up the sauce! While the lobster was super fresh and the dish executed perfectly, the lemon was a tad overpowering. The bartender highly recommended the chicken; however, two of us opted for the sea trout and one had the pork. I didn't sample the pork, but the sea trout was velvety and rich, with a beautifully scented saffron broth. To finish, we had the dark chocolate cremeux (complex, adult, DANGEROUS!), the yuzu gelato (fresh and tart!) and the deconstructed carrot cake (cozy and familiar). A note about the wine - Isabelle the sommelier was a true standout! She chose some unusual pairings that worked perfectly with our meals and explained in good detail about each wine and why she selected it. In addition to having a perfect pairing, we also got some good educational enrichment. Isabelle is clearly passionate about wine and her selections and service really added to the meal. The Modern was a true treat!

The service is consistently excellent. It's one of those restaurants where you feel very well taken care of from start to finish, and the space itself has a lively, polished energy that makes every visit feel like an occasion. The food, for me, is a bit more mixed. There are a few standout touches I really enjoy, especially the butter service and the bagel service, which always feel fun and well done. The French onion soup was memorable the first time I had it, though I've since had an even better version elsewhere that raised the bar for me. Some dishes land better than others. The Caesar salad is fine but not particularly memorable, the pasta dishes are generally okay, and I didn't love the artichoke dish, which felt a bit tough and underwhelming. The mac and cheese also didn't quite hit for me and felt a bit heavy without much payoff. That said, I can absolutely see the appeal of this restaurant--especially the experience, the atmosphere, and the service. My friend particularly loves the fries, which seem to be a consistent favorite. For me, it's a place I enjoy when I'm invited and treated, especially for those little signature touches like the butter service.
