Came in without a reservation and was luckily seated quickly. But I would definitely recommend a reservation before planning your visit. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary and it was fantastic! The food was also delicious! The staff here is all very friendly. The vibe and atmosphere is very cute as well.

We went there as a group of 6 to see the holiday decorations. We were not disappointed. It's beautiful in the center courtyard. And it snows once an hour! They hand out umbrellas. We were unable to get a reservation but they were kind enough to give us a table for 1 1/2 hours. We ordered drinks and charcuterie boards. Food was great and so was the service.

We loved our Sunday brunch here. We made reservations earlier in the week for a table outside. We were seated right away, and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. The brunch menu is a little limited, but we didn't have a problem finding something we wanted. The Brunch Burger was delicious. I would order it again, and highly recommend it. If you're someone who's interested in taking pictures, there's plenty of good spots on the patio to take pictures in front of their iconic trees. Even the people eating inside will eventually make their way out to the patio to take pics. After we finished eating, we walked around the Farmer's Market that was taking place on the street right outside the restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere make this a place worth checking out.

Our server was super kind and the restaurant is really cute. Note that it's insideout aka even when you're seated inside, it's open air. So we went on a chillier day and were pretty cold -- we didn't know there were blankets until we left and saw them by the exit. Ordered the loco moco and thought it was okay. Didn't personally love the ginger in the sauce. Also shared the breakfast burger and it was missing an aioli or something because it was definitely dry. The sweet potato truffle fries were delicious though!! Tried a bite of the kalua eggs Benedict and it was pretty good! We also got a seasonal French toast to share but I think maybe the brioche wasn't dry enough yet because it was really eggy on the outside but plain on the inside.

This restaurant was beautiful! A very unique place that feels like you're in a garden. The day we came it looked like rain and they called us ahead of time incase we wanted to reschedule, but we decided to go anyways. We were a little early, but our table was waiting for us. The table its self was a bit small for 3 people for dinner, it's better for just drinks and appetizers. We did enjoy our meal, even though it was a little uncomfortable. Just make sure they face your plate the right direction if you order the filet or you will be splattered with grease from the steak cooking on the hot stone. The food its self was delicious, and the service was great. Not sure if we will be back, but definitely a great experience to go at least once. On our way out it started to rain, so we had some good timing and a little luck.

Ambiance & service were both 5/5! Our server was friendly and checked in on us often. The beautiful decor and vibe of the restaurant is obviously one of the main reasons people come here :) No complaints there! I made a reservation and requested outdoor seating, and I was happy with our table outside at the top of the stairs (which gave us more privacy). I came here for an anniversary dinner with my husband, and we agreed that the cocktails and food were both just okay for us. Not sure if it was just a one off or what, but all of our dishes came out very very salty. It was manageable for the braised beef, but for my diver scallops and the side of brussels sprouts , the saltiness was overbearing. Also for $42, I thought 3 scallops were too little (I expected at least 4 for an entree). The portion for the braised beef is more generous if you're looking for a more filling entree. The dessert was very pretty to look at, but it would probably be better if the puff pastry was warmed up to balance out the cold "strawberry broth." With the broth, crystallized sugar, strawberry powder, strawberry gel, and turbinado sugar as the ingredients for this dessert, it was just overly sweet. My freaky tiki cocktail was also too sweet. My husband said his whiskey cocktail was fine.

I had heard all the hype about this new restaurant for awhile now so a couple of my best friends and I decided to check it out over the holidays and I haven't gotten around to be able to have written a review yet! Firstly, parking wise, especially around a busier time around the holidays, was literally no walk in the park. This restaurant is easy to find because it's located at the bottom floor of a red residential building, but there was absolutely no parking right in front of the restaurant nor all the way around. So my best friend and I did end up having to park and walk a couple blocks over to get here. Otherwise, the ambiance of the place and what attributes to the hype was spectacular. The decorations were adorable as we went around Christmas time, so there were beautifully decorated Christmas trees, some had different themes, and I know the middle of the restaurant was open and the main star of this place, but we unfortunately ended up getting seated inside and weren't able to enjoy all of it. Our waiters were dressed so handsomely with strapped harnesses on top of slightly more professional clothing ;) Now as far as pacing goes... and again, maybe it was due to the time of year we went, everything just kind of took too long in between. Like we put in our initial order... and like over 20-30 minutes later, we finally got that drink order. Then we put in our food order, then 40-50 minutes, we finally got our food. Luckily my best friend and I had plenty to talk about because we had an entire year to catch each other up on, but the waits for everything just took AWHILE. However - the food didn't disappoint and was for the most part, worth the wait. We had the potatoes (somewhat like a smashed wedge) for appetizers and they were delicious! Perfectly seasoned and for me, didn't need ketchup or anything because the flavor was there. We also shared the butternut squash soup for the night to warm us up and it was smooth and we dipped the potatoes in there for an unexpected flavor bomb... Also probably because we were definitely getting buzzed and just so hungry, anything would've sounded good at this point. My best friend got the hot stone filet mignon and that was SO fun! However, he was a little frustrated having to still cook it himself on the stone because by the time it had gotten to our table (almost an hour later mind you), he was starving! So to have waited that long, plus then having to cook your own steak yourself, was a bummer. But obviously it was still delicious and paired deliciously with the flavored salt and chimichurri. I had the crispy skin barramundi and I practically inhaled it. Besides being as hungry as I had gotten (especially after a whole cocktail), the barramundi was a great texture and my favorite part of the dish was actually the vegetables this time! There was still a great crunch to the bok choy and carrots and I love a good curry so it was delightful! Now I'm mentioning drinks last, just because they were good enough that we had to have them twice. LOL My best friend ordered the Freaky Tiki which was a sweeter, fruitier cocktail. And I had ordered the Strawberry Mule, which is on the menu as a cocktail but I was able to of course, add alcohol (my choice for the night was tequila) into it. Both were refreshing and complimented our dinner well. Last thoughts is that it can get quite loud - my best friend and I were sitting right next to each other, and for good reason too because I felt like we were yelling at each other still! But there were also a couple celebrations going on around us too, it seemed, so that might've lent to the noise level being above average. Overall, the only complaint was pacing could've gone slightly better but I would definitely come back especially since they do take time to re-theme the restaurant based on the time of year.

Forgot to take pictures of the other food because I could not believe that the host came to our table to let us know 5 guest could not sit on the table I showed picture we were not in the way and most of us were sitting on the window side .michael was great felt bad for us having to move to benches on side so with that said did not order anymore food but I guess they did us a solid they moved us to the top bench with the beautiful views, had to get our on drinks so they missed out on revenue both ways . So no parties of 5 for dinner lol

Had my daughter's 18th birthday here and it was super beautiful, a little more on the pricey side but fun. I would say to go with a small group we were a group of 11 and we were sat in a corner but when we got to walk around and take pictures it was sooo cool but the seating was more for small groups and you'll get to have a better experience

Phenomenal ambience! Delicious and presentable brunch, cute and yummy drinks, gorgeous decor and great service! Came here for a birthday where they gave the birthday girl a gorgeous pistachio caramel cake with a sparkling candle. We ordered the Filet Mingon, Loco Moco, and Lemon Avocado toast. Filet Mingon- Great presentation with the sizzling hot plate and herbed butter, but definitley lacked in flavor. We were a little bit disappointed because it seemed to be the star item on the menu. I wouldn't order it again or recommend it. Loco Moco- 10/10! Presented nicely and tasted delicious! Highly recommend. Lemon Avocado Toast- was pretty good and had a beautiful presentation. I added the lump crab for $7 but didn't feel like it had enough to add any flavor or price. Empress 75- beautiful purple drink presentation by was very sour. Probably wouldn't order it again. Blush and Bashful- so yummy and gorgeous in presentation! It was the tables favorite drink!

Great ambiance with colorful decor! Our server was amazing (wish I remembered her name) I had the duck confit salad and I can say it was one of the best I've had completed with salad offerings that pair well altogether. Got some pretty pics before the natural light went away :)

Over the years, Reality Changers has proven that it is much more than a non-profit program. I have volunteered as a tutor and mentor since Spring of 2008 (back when I was still a student at UCSD) and it has been extremely rewarding seeing the students grow and mature into responsible citizens and adults. The weekly program consists of S.A.T. test preparation, an insightful lesson, a delicious homemade dinner (which is five stars for sure! not every volunteer gig you do feeds you!), and then 1.5 hours of study time. During this time, you are paired up with a small group of students which makes it easier to connect with the students. Reality Changers has even had inspiring guest speakers such as politicians, leaders in the San Diego community, and university officials. With the help of the supportive and encouraging staff and volunteers, these inner-city youth from San Diego become the first in their families to attend a four-year university.. and not only do they defy all statistics against them to get ACCEPTED, these students earn scholarships to go to schools such as Duke, Harvard, Dartmouth, USC, UCLA, and more. This truly shows how Reality Changers is more than just a program that helps high school students. It gives teens who never might have had the chance an opportunity of a lifetime and I am happy and blessed to be a part of it. It is amazing what a few hours a week can do to transform a student's life. This organization is unlike place I've ever volunteered at because they really make everyone who is a part of the program - whether you're a tutor, a parent, a volunteer, or a student feel like part of the RC Family. Also, tutors come from very diverse backgrounds - there are many college students (from UCSD, SDSU, PLNU, etc), professionals from the community, retired adults, and more who are all invested in helping inner city students from San Diego be the first in their families to go to college.

Vince tutored me via Zoom. His remote setup enabled us to have productive exchanges as he was equipped with technology that facilitated easy learning. I'm including this in my review because my previous tutor did not possess the necessary technology to properly conduct remote learning. More importantly, Vince worked with me to apply focus to my GRE study, directing me to the right materials--I had previously only studied 3rd party material. He also helped me to stay on track with weekly study plans that matched my time commitment. In our 90 minute tutoring sessions, we spent our time mostly discussing verbal topics. Most valuable was that verbal discussions with Vince built the necessary experience that enabled me to understand how ETS presents the logic in the TC/SE questions types and what ETS is looking for when presenting their RC question types. As a native English speaker, I had to re-engineer how I read the passages and questions presented in the GRE. My tutoring sessions with Vince helped me acquire the test taking "finesse" in the verbal section that I needed to go from scoring in the 70th percentile (May 2021 test) to scoring in the 96th percentile (July 2021 test). If you have the resources, I strongly recommend connecting with Vince or at least consider taking his online Verbal GRE prep course. Finally, some general test-taking advice re: the GRE. The GRE is a game and you're there to play its 80 little puzzles. One of the best pieces of advice I got from Vince himself: "Be patient, build experience, and take your time with the test." This advice really resonated with me and I took it to heart, eventually attaining the score I wanted. So, to my fellow test taker: "Be patient, build experience, and take your time with the test."
