This office is extremely unprofessional. I literally witnessed a patient come in for an eye visit, and I witnessed the patient's behavior. The patient was definitely not drunk or under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. It's pretty obvious when people are drunk because they reek of alcohol she was just there for an eye visit. I am not sure why the staff thought she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs because she clearly wasn't but they proceeded to call the police on her and tell the police that she was under the influence of alcohol yet the staff still treated her for her visit. If she was really under the influence of alcohol wouldn't medical professionals not be allowed to treat her? I don't think the staff would've treated her because it's probably a liability to treat a I patient that's under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I was an appalled by them treating her this way when the woman was just was coming in to get a new prescription for her glasses and I witnessed her behavior. She was not under the influence of anything for the staff to call the police on her is absurd and extremely unprofessional. I will never go here again after I witnessed how they treat their patients very unprofessional receptionist, staff, and definitely the medical staff. I don't know what this lady did for them to treat her this way, but she didn't deserve that and I will never go there again and I will tell all my friends and everyone I know how this poor young lady was treated and how no one should ever go to insight vision center off Lone Elm in Olathe, Kansas. Do better. I don't know why the staff assumed she was under the influence. Now I believe the staff or medical professionals that work there were under the influence is that why they thought that she was? It's absurd and I will tell everyone about this. You lost me as a patient I hope you lost her as a patient and I know tons of people that wear glasses and they were going to your vision center but I've already told them what happened. Now those patients told me they will never go there again and I'll keep spreading the word of their unprofessionalism. No Patient should be treated in this manner. read more

Took my 3 year old here to get an eye exam. She was super wiggly, the assistant(I'm not sure of their actual title but he was super super cool, had a septum piercing like me and my daughter loved him) had trouble getting imaging due to that and the fact that she was too small and had to sit on my lap to reach. The doctor proceeded to take her prescription manually, I was SO impressed with his patience and professionalism. Then, after that, the doctor suggested that we go back to the machines and try again. He was able to get pictures this time! The machine read her prescription as the EXACT numbers that he had recorded during his manual examination. The man behind the desk urged me to bring her back if there were any problems with her glasses. They ended up slipping down her nose a bit so I took him up on that. He fixed it in a matter of minutes and they have fit perfectly for the last 3 months!! I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was and how grateful I am to this location. This was my first visit here. It was super clean and tidy. Love that all the staff were wearing masks and made me feel super comfortable and safe! More impressed by just how super friendly and welcoming the entire staff was. Not to mention the great music and conversation while I waited:) Staff was also super knowledgeable and helpful. This place and their 2020 counterpart is the absolute SADDEST excuse for eye care in the area, maybe even the world. I gave them three (3) opportunities to get my glasses correct, and I am sorry, but they are just an EPIC FAIL! Almost $400.00, with insurance mind you, and I cannot even wear these lenses, they are just WRONG. They are one of the most disorganized business I have ever encountered. They lost my glasses and made me come back, then they marked up my old glasses and then could not get the marker off, until they realized the marks WERE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE! Do NOT waste your money with this place, go to Walmart Vision before you go here. Over two (2) weeks to get the wrong Rx Three (3) different times, I give up on these people!!! They gladly took my insurance and almost 400.00 cash, wasted hours and hours of my time, and then offered me a measly $100.00 credit, now I can't use my vision insurance for a year. I called and asked if they could tint my lenses so I could at least try to use these horrible things as sunglasses and they said sure, bring them in. When I went to drop them off, now they tell me they can't tint them, amazing. read more

The Doctors and staff did a great job. I had no problems with eye glasses or making appointment. Wife and I was there last July 2013 and we both have an appointment for today. They are local close to home stock great name brand frames at reasonable pricing. read more

My husband and I have been bringing our children here to get there prescriptions filled for several years now. Our son was only 4 when he started wearing glasses. He has had many challenges with his glasses and Insight has worked so hard to make things easy for us. Their staff is always pleasant and eager to help. Keep up the great work. read more

I have a friend with a very tricky prescription - problem solved - and he also did a great job with my basic prescription for new glasses !!! I set an appointment for my 3-year-old daughter 18 months ago. I received a phone call per day for a week (six months ago) telling me that I needed to bring her in. I explained at that time that she had an appointment scheduled for November 22. The person at that time said, "ok" and I went about my life. I showed up at 9:50 for our 10:00 appointment. I had not received any phone call or email confirming my appointment, so I made sure to get there early. I was greeted by one lady and I explained I was there for an appointment. She looked rather strangely at me and said that someone else would help me with that. The girl behind the desk then explained that they had redone their hours and there was not a doctor in the office until later in the afternoon. I explained that I'd made this appointment 18 months ago, and that they could have called to explain that. She told me they had me scheduled for the Gardner office (where I've never been, ever) which is another 15 minute drive further south than I'd already traveled. At first, this receptionist was not even going to offer me another office. Her only thing was, "I can get you in later this afternoon." Well, with a 3-year-old who's already scared of going to the eye doctor, there's no way I'm getting her to come back. Also, I live a good 30 minutes from this office, but I've always liked the office staff - not true any longer. At one point, I had to walk away because I did not want to be the person that yelled in an office. I went back in and said, "Where are your doctors?" She explained that there was a doctor in Roeland Park, Prairie Village and Gardner. I asked her what kind of availability the Roeland Park office had, and she said they could get me in right away. I told her it would take me 25 minutes to get there, and she said she would call ahead and let them know we were coming. Lo and behold, she didn't call the other office. I walked in after realizing that the office is in the Wal-Mart, but not actually IN the Wal-Mart (she failed to mention there was a separate entrance for exams) and the receptionist there had NO idea I was coming. The good news out of all of this is that the Roeland Park office was very accommodating. Needless to say, however, I will not be returning. I will mention - the doctors themselves are outstanding. The office staff needs work, but the doctors are amazing. read more

Never got the feeling they cared about you and your vision as much as they care about getting paid. My wife was not satisfied with her contact lense prescription and neither was I. Turns out they completely mis diagnosed my prescription and multi focal lenses were not even needed! That issue alone was enough for us to move on but combined with over priced glasses and very average service we moved to Dr. Paul Brinkman at Olathe Eye Care. Very satisfied he is a true professional. read more

The staff and doctors at Insight are a joy! I came in to have my annual contacts exam and was beyond impressed. The office was spacey and had many amenities for the waiting area, including a flat screen with cable-(which did wonders for my normally loud kids!) The wait was very reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I then had my visit with Dr. Weigel-who gave me one of the thoroughest exams. He even was kind of enough to do some additional testing to ensure that I didn't have glaucoma which runs in my family. After trying some bifocal contacts, I came back to make sure they were working right and to my surprise I saw another doctor, but Dr. Troyer also did a great job as he checked my eyes and sent me on my way. I purchased a year supply of contacts and Insight PAID FOR LENSES into a frame I bought in the store. The gals were even nice enough to help me pick out my frames which took a lifetime, but they were patient! I could not be happier. Thank you Insight! You have a lifetime customer. read more
