Took a mini drive down to Cannon Beach and stopped by this cute coffee shop recommended by another local spot! Staff were not very chatty, however the coffee was amazing and I highly recommend trying one of their baked items!

One of the best things about the PNW is all the local coffee shops and Insomnia Coffee did not disappoint. A little tip is to get there early cause this place is known to have a line out the door. The coffee (lattes) were hot, smooth, and delicious and baristas were very nice and attentive. The space gives off quaint and cozy vibes. A little bonus is all the art through out that is made by local artist abs for sale. I picked up the cutest hand painted ornaments with scenes of Cannon Beach and other local spots. Definitely worth the stop!

Right in the heart of Cannon Beach, this is a pretty good stop for some quality coffee. There was a line coming out the door, but it didn't take that long to get through. My partner was thrilled they had cardamom syrup for a cardamom latte, which is surprisingly delicious. I got an iced quad vanilla latte - it was superb! We also got some warmed up biscuits that were scrumptious! The food is minimal with biscuits, scones, and some fridge items, like pre bought hard boiled eggs and vegan chia pudding. Nice seating inside, but it was crowded on the weekend.

Love, love, love! This is exactly my type of spot. I love a good, local coffee shop with vibes and delicious pastries and comfy seating. Insomnia was just that. Walls of windows, comfy chairs, amazing pastries and great coffee. We came both days and hung out for a bit and made plans for the day here. It has plenty of easy street parking but there are also free lots nearby and it's very walkable to the rest of the town and shopping. Friendly staff and anything from their baked section was phenomenal. We tried cookies, lemon poppy and peach scones and their savory scone with Asiago cheese and rosemary I think. It was SO good we got two every day and indulged. Their apricot green tea is also very good.

Upon arrival, I took the last parking space in the parking lot behind the building. However, there is street parking around the building and an additional public parking lot about a block behind the building. Walked in mid morning on a Tuesday and only waited in line behind one person before my order was promptly taken by a friendly cashier. Order was ready within 5-10 minutes. The latte art was beautiful on my Aztec mocha but it was too hot to drink. When I was able to finally drink it, it had hardly any sauce/syrup in it, and thus had no flavor. Unfortunately I did not end up drinking it. There were plenty of people seated in the tables at this time but there was one left when I arrived. The vibes on a weekday are definitely different than the weekend. It looks like they sometimes offer online ordering but it hasn't been available a single time that I have tried to use it. They get packed on the weekends and will have a line out the door so plan accordingly.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Schooner's Cove hotel across the street and I had to have some morning coffee. After reading the reviews I just had to try it and it was truly THE BEST cup of Sugar Free Vanilla Latte I have ever had. Not to mention the pastries were incredible as well. Hubby and I both bought coffee here while walking around Cannon Beach. It's a cute little coffee shop and I look forward to going back on my next visit. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our coffee was delicious and made correctly. There wasn't really anywhere to sit but that was okay, we just took our coffee down to beach and sipped while walking around. read more

Simple coffee shop right off of the main Beach access point. On a sunny day you can probably see the ocean (today was a classic foggy, rainy winter day so no views to be had). Staff is friendly and offers good recommendations. I had their raspberry coconut scone and it was everything you would want. The latte was pretty good too. My free pour macchiato was absolutely delicious. One of the best I've had anywhere, including the coffee shops that I frequent in Portland. It was a most welcomed surprise that Cannon has a really good coffee spot. Great people working there, too! Definitely go get your caffeine there. read more

What a great little shop right off the main drag of Cannon Beach. I'm a bit of a coffee snob myself, so I'm always a little wary of trying a place I've never heard of. But when I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat. The shop was home to a La Marzocco espresso machine, which assured me they were pulling good shots. So I ordered a latte, and hoped for a good pour. I was not disappointed. My barista gave me a smooth pour with just the right amount of foam, and the latte was nearly perfect. They used local beans, which were great tasting. Definitely a great spot. read more

Great coffee shop just off the Main Street. Very friendly service, really good tasting espresso. The highlight was the biscuit (blue cheese and bacon) - so good we came back the next day and had it again (this time was herb and cheddar, equally as delicious). Ambiance was spot on, even relatively out of season was busy with mixture of locals and tourists. Will definitely come again. read more

A very welcome morning stop on our drive from Seattle to San Francisco! On a drizzly morning, my delicious pumpkin latte, the soft hum of conversation, huge windows and busy but not crowded interior made for a great couple hours as we escaped from the rain. This is one of my favorite places to go to for my morning coffee when we stay at the beach. We always stay in Seaside, and it's worth the 10 minute or so drive to Cannon Beach to get the most delicious fresh out of the oven pastries and love their real caramel lattes, pumpkin spice lattes, chais...one of my high lights of my mornings at the Oregon beach! read more

Well nothing has changed and maybe worse. They still won't use heavy cream. Their hours are from 8AM to 5PM? These are the worst hours ever for a coffee shop. I really like them in Hillsboro but they have lost their way on the coast. read more

Cannon Beach just can't do wrong. Insomnia is in the midst of the main drag, a short block from the beach. I grabbed an Americano with almond milk, which they did have, and sat down for a minute. There was a variety of seating for customers. There were a lot of different people, from young hipsters to older people, but most people were in and out. The set-up of this shop doesn't lend to hanging out. The baristas are covered up behind a blue wall. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Cannon Beach. To start, they make the best biscuits, often jalapeño and cheese or bacon and blue cheese. The coffee is always consistent and prices are on par with a tourist beach town. Friendly staff however the only downside can be the long wait but it is the beach. read more

Just paid 3.25 for a cup of regular drip coffee. I chose the medium blend that has horrible flavor and curdled the 1/2&1/2 I added. 3.25 for regular crappy drip coffee need I say more. Tried to leave 0 stars but wouldn't let me read more

Expensive WEAK coffee! Ok I wanted to like this place. It's so cute! I've been 4 times in two years TRYING to get a decent cup of coffee. No luck - it's so so so weak. I've tried an americano twice , the dark roast, an espresso, I've asked for an extra shot and it's all like weakly flavored water. I've noticed most of the positive reviews are for other things than basic coffees and reviews for basic coffee are consistently not great. After so many visits I can finally leave a bad review with good conscience. It's just bad #yuck read more

Spring break in cannon beach.. Windy, sunny, and cold.. The wife needed a warm up and we were pleasantly surprised to find an insomnia shop just off the beach. This is my wife's choice in PDX, the Aztec mocha her go to. As we placed our order we noticed a long line of cups to the one barista working hard to keep the stacked cups in line below 8.. That being said she was very deliberate to make each cup perfectly.. And it showed, they were spot on! I did not notice a name tag or I would call her out personally to thank her. ( brunette, kind of short hair, nose ring, cute..) sorry honey (aka wife) I call em' like I see em' but you know that! Bottom line, come here for great coffee. Better than any Starbucks around. But be patient if busy, it'll be worth the wait. read more

I was looking a place to just be cozy during a rainy beach. This place was it!!! There are a couple wing-back chairs, benches, and tables. There's even a wood stove that you get warm by. I had a matcha tea latte which was creamy and comforting. I'll remember this place next time I am at the beach. read more

Be prepared for a LONG line, but the wait is well worth it. This coffee is beautiful and delicious and I can see why so many people come here! I only wish I didn't feel so rushed to order and could have tried some pastries or something. But all things considered this place deserves a five star rating. read more

We visited while on a day trip and spent several hours here. Love everything about it! Great tasting coffee, adorable and cozy environment, and friendly baristas. I had an Aztec mocha (cinnamon), and a trail mix cookie... Perfection. The biscuits also looked delicious... maybe next time. Wish they were open past 5pm! read more

The walk-in beer cooler is accessible from both sides of the store and the selection of beer, cider, and wine was extraordinary! They had a variety of local and non-local, and all price points so you definitely have options depending on your mood. There were a ton of produce and fresh food options that I saw as well, even though we didn't purchase anything from those. I never caught the cashier's name, but she was a shorter, dark haired lady and was so so nice! She talked to me about my wine option and reassured my choice was a good one! I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.

Come prepared with three things: cash, an appetite, and a little patience. They don't take reservations--you simply write your name on the waiting list and relax while you wait. Trust me, it's worth every minute. We waited about 25 minutes, and after eating here, we understood exactly why there's always a line. In fact, we loved it so much that we came back two mornings in a row! The warm marionberry scones, fresh from the oven, are absolutely unforgettable. They're easily twice the size of a traditional scone, making them perfect for sharing, and every bite is buttery, tender, and bursting with sweet marionberries. I ordered the mushroom and Tillamook cheddar omelet with breakfast potatoes, and it was outstanding. The mushrooms were perfectly sautéed, the Tillamook cheddar was rich, fresh, and flavorful, and the potatoes tasted like they had been prepared that very morning before being crisped to perfection when ordered. Every bite tasted homemade. Our waitress had customer service down to a science--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant itself is wonderfully cozy, with just a handful of tables upstairs and additional seating downstairs. That intimate atmosphere means your food arrives incredibly fast. Ours was piping hot and on the table within just a few minutes of ordering. One thing to know before you go--they're cash only. Honestly, I can appreciate that. In a busy tourist town where credit card fraud is an unfortunate reality, it's a simple system that clearly works well for them. If you're looking for an unforgettable breakfast, brunch, or lunch, The Lazy Susan absolutely belongs on your list. Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better, our waitress casually asked if we'd like dessert. I laughed and said, "You have desserts?" She pointed to the homemade dessert menu, and we couldn't resist taking home a slice of the chocolate silk pie and the peanut butter pie AND Oh my heavens....Each was incredibly rich and velvety--almost like an indulgent cheesecake--with homemade flavor in every bite. They became the perfect mid-afternoon treat, and now I already have an excuse to come back because I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the dessert menu.
