One of the better options for coffee in the Cannon Beach area
Benjamin S.

It was such a treat to visit Sea Level Bakery during a recent stay on the Coast. It's on the southern edge of Cannon Beach, away from the heart of all the restaurants and shops, but I think everyone knows this is the place for coffee because it's pretty crowded. Still, the line moves fast and the people from counter to baristas are all friendly and nice. The vibe is very contemporary and fresh, and I love the covered outdoor patio, which is great when the sun is out. I got the daily frittata and it was tasty, coming with a side of greens with a simple vinaigrette. My cappuccino with soy milk was also well done, with a nice flavor to the roast. I even got a snickerdoodle cookie for later and it was one of the better ones I've had. It's a great place to drop in after a morning hike.

Good coffee. Excellent pastries plus pleasant place to enjoy the treats. Located in Cannon Beach, Oregon Service is always fast, friendly and efficient.

Apricot and Brie sandwich

Stopped in to this cute cafe after driving from Portland. I ordered an iced almond milk latte, the apricot and brie sandwich, and a chocolate chip cookie. The coffee in the latte tasted slightly burnt and very acidic, I wasn't a huge fan. The sandwich was very simple but I enjoyed it, the bread was great. The cookie was definitely the best thing I had, probably one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! They also had a great selection of different pastries.

This was a cute coffee shop with decent food near our hotel. Staff were friendly enough and coffee was good. I did enjoy their menu items and it's very clean and modern inside with a lovely bathroom, some seating inside and a nice patio. The quiche was OK but wasn't super warm and wasn't especially savory or the best I've had. The Brie and apricot sandwich was OK but wouldn't get again. The açaí was the star of the show with loads of fresh veggie and only $7 bc they offer a full size and a mini. Not the best but certainly not the worst. Solid 3 stars feels right, maybe 3.5.

This spot was so relaxing and calm. The baristas and servers were so kind and welcoming. The food OMG delicious! We ordered the açaí bowl, salami sandwich, and sticky bun - all we impeccable! Honestly the best açaí bowl we've had. For coffee we got the iced vanilla latte and their seasonal maple bourbon latte. 10/10 all around.

Beach near sea level Cafe. Walking distance!

Great Maple bourbon latte, sticky bun, French ham & Brie sandwich. Clean with a nice aesthetic. Great outdoor seating area and also some indoor seating. Clean bathroom. There was a line to order but it went quickly. Everyone was friendly and food/ coffee was out quickly. Walkable to the beach! Wish we had time to stop back in- I would try the quiche!

Pain au chocolate and cappuccino

Great coffee and homemade pastries. They are also open on Mondays which is so needed in Cannon Beach because it seems like all the other coffee shops are closed. They also have fresh bread and quiche. I wish they did offer a breakfast sandwich, the closest they have would be a jamon and Brie, which looked delicious. We had the quiche and pain au chocolate, both were excellent. They have limited seating inside, but a nice outdoor area with heaters. They do get pretty busy, so get there early!

Bakery case

Cute little coffee / bakery in Cannon Beach. Was hoping not as packed as Sleepmonk being further outside town, I was wrong. If you're here for the coffee, may want to reconsider heading to Sleepmonk. If you're here for the pastries, you've found the right place. Our picks from what we sampled in this order: - Ham & Cheese Kouign Amann 200% - oh the layers! - 3 Cheese Biscuit - Raspberry Pistachio Scone w/ Lemon Glaze - chocolate croissant - biscuit with jam They had just run out of the blueberry cream Kouign Amann which prob would have made 1 or 2 in rating. Breads looked great and also wanted to sample granola / açaí, Brie and ham baguette but not enough room, next time!

Blueberry scone, hazelnut banana bread, and pecan sticky bun

I did not care for the chocolate as the cake was very fluffy and light-lots of air holes. I prefer something dense. The whipped cream frosting was a nice balance to the sweet. I enjoyed the flavor and the filling of the lemon one. It seemed a bit more dense to me. The owner has lived some interesting places. If she is not busy take the time to ask "Have you always lived here?" You might get a story with your treat. If you like light and fluffy giant cupcakes you have found your spot.

Yummy cupcakes that were a crowd pleaser for my friend's birthday celebration!…read more I stopped in after arriving in town to pick up cupcakes. I had tried to order a cake, but wasn't having luck finding a time in my workday to call when the shop was open. When I arrived there were about eight flavors to choose from in the case. The owner was friendly and actually offered to make me a cake that afternoon, but I didn't have enough time to wait in town that day. The flavors in the case were variations of a couple of flavors. All of the cupcakes are filled. There was chocolate cake with mousse, white cake with mousse, white cake with raspberry, white cake with lemon, and chocolate cake with raspberry. The cupcakes are huge. Most of us ended up enjoying our cupcakes one half at a time. The cake was moist and delicious. The frosting was light and fluffy, not a thick buttercream. We all liked that the frosting was different than what we expected. I don't typically experience sticker shock, but at $5 a cupcake I was a little shocked. The cupcakes were large, but I would have preferred normal sized cupcakes at a lower price.

It was absolutely outstanding! Every ingredient felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. The rich flavors of the grilled tempeh and the perfect tang of the sauerkraut paired beautifully with the hearty, fresh-baked rye. The service was also wonderful and incredibly thoughtful--they noticed we were sharing and kindly split the sandwich into two separate plates for us before bringing it out, which we truly appreciated. The only downside was the iced tea, which unfortunately tasted quite watered down and lacked flavor. Aside from that, it's a fantastic spot. If you're exploring the historic streets of Astoria and looking for high-quality, conscious food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Since we had just eaten breakfast elsewhere we did not purchase any but wanted to. They also had a small menu offering breakfast and lunch, including vegan offerings. The interior was cute and quaint with bar seating along the front window and tables with chairs throughout. The service we received was great, friendly, and expedient. Make this a stop on your way through Astoria!
