If you're not a coffee snob you can skip my review. If you don't expect a delicious properly made latte, skip my review. I really wanted to love this coffee shop I even strayed from my go to. The shop is beautiful and in a great location. I loved the view, plants and vibrate colors. I had high hopes my latte was going to be outstanding. I did my research the owners have several years working as baristas at notable coffee shops in Oregon. They love coffee and love making coffee. I was really looking forward to a delicious latte with housemade caramel syrup. To my disappointment my latte was scalding hot guessing 160 degrees. You know it's this temp when you can't hold your paper cup comfortably without a sleeve. Also, heating to this temperature causes the proteins to break down, burns the lactose, turning natural sweetness into bitter, scalded flavors. Overheating also degrades micro-foam and numbs your tongue, masking the subtle tasting notes of the espresso. And sadly, it also diminished the Martha Stuart inspired housemade caramel syrup into nothing. Basically I got a scalded milk latte. I was charged 1.00 for caramel syrup that I didn't taste. When the latte finally cooled down I could taste the butter from the syrup but no hint of sweetness. FYI a housemade caramel syrup latte should only be heated to 140 degrees (googled it). So, go for the views, the pastries and perhaps a drip coffee. They have plenty of seating for groups of 2-4. read more

This was my first time and I can't wait to return! Truly obsessed with the speciality lattes here! It was my first time, and I really enjoyed the pumpkin spice latte and cinnamon dolce latte. No extra charge for alternative milk either. The most perfect view of the river. Cozy seats. Lots of indoor plants. What else could you want? Came here on Sunday midday with my little sister for a study session. Such a cute spot with amazing views. Prices were pretty reasonable for the area and the quality they do offer free Wi-Fi and there is additional seating in a room connected to the coffee shop where you can enjoy your drink and have views of the ocean. The employees were less than pleasant and pretty snippy! This ruined my experience pretty quickly. My coffee was meant to be iced and instead of remaking it and apologizing she simply said "oh you didn't say iced" ... of course I did! But when she finally remade my coffee - the cinnamon dulce latte, it was great! The hot vanilla latte was also enjoyable! The location is stunning! Plenty of places to sit outside and inside and enjoy your coffee! They do make it clear that the bagels are Costco, they were good. but would be cool to have fresh house made foods too! The shop itself is conveniently located just a few minutes down the road from downtown Astoria making it the perfect stop for a quick drink before getting the day started, or to stop by and get in a bite in the middle of a day on the town. The menu has all the classic coffee drinks plus a few unique options to Sleeper. I got a hot mocha with the Jam Biscuit which both tasted delicious. The jam on top was marionberry and the pastry itself was dense yet flavorful. The baristas both on the clock were nice to me and were quick with my order. I sat right next to a window overlooking the ocean and had the chance to even see a few sea lions swim by. Sat and watched the shios go by for about an hour taking it all in before heading up to hike the Astoria column. The coffee must have been sitting since early a.m. because it was horrible, we couldn't even drink it. The 2 pastries were stale, and inedible.
