I visited this location of Insomnia while in the neighborhood. Very eclectic decor, all the furniture looked old, but had a certain charm. None of the chairs matched, mostly hard wood. I found a couple padded chairs at the tables. But I opted for one of the cozy arm chairs off to the side. I placed an order for a mocha latte with a dairy free alternative. I asked what food items were vegan. Sadly there was one piece of coffee cake. There were vegan sandwich or burrito. Not really sure, since I was interested in a baked good. I got the last vegan coffee cake. It must have been sitting there for a while, it felt a little stale. I don't think I'll be back. I would have fared better at the Market of Choice across the parking lot. read more

We were pleasantly surprised to see Insomnia was in the neighborhood. My wife and I had just had a bit of a disappointing lunch just around the corner. So what better way to lift our spirits than to get a caffeinated beverage at one of our favorite cafés? It was as expected - very friendly and accommodating staff and pretty clean inside. My wife ordered a cold-brew with vanilla foam. I ordered a caramel oatmilk latté. There isn't much to say here. It's like McDonald's in their heyday. That's not a knock against them. Just saying that their consistency in wuality precedes them. That right now, at least, you can walk into any Insomnia and have an excellent experience. My only gripe was that there weren't much seating. A huge conference room style, tree cross-section table was the only available table. 2 smaller tables had someone else's leftover trash sitting on them. It wasn't terribly busy, so why hadn't they been cleaned and wiped down? It was an overall pleasant experience.I think we'll be glad to stop by here again. read more

Love insomnia and this location is no different. They do seem to consistently be a bit more expensive than some other places, but the quality is top notch so I dont typically mind, I also tend to order non dairy milk which is always extra. Their ambiance is the best part, the assorted vintage seating gives a very cool, very PNW vibe. Service has consistently been great and I typically stay and work for a few hours. I love the lavender matcha latte (and the fact that lavender is available all the time not just for a season!). read more

Great place for a coffee in the morning or afternoon, to meet with friends or for a quick meeting. Lots of sizes of tables and different shapes and sizes of chairs... service is in the cashier, the team is very nice. We had a biscuit and a chocolate croissant. I went to Insomnia Café and absolutely loved it! The coffee was really good -- I tried their drip coffee and also one with black coffee and a shot of foamed milk, and both were excellent. The flavors were rich and balanced, and you can tell they care about quality. The vibe of the café is amazing -- cozy, stylish, and relaxing. I really liked the furniture and the overall atmosphere; it's a great place to hang out or get some work done. The service was also wonderful -- friendly and attentive. Overall, 5/5! Headed over on a Friday morning and went straight up to the counter. The pastry options were lovely and I was so stoked to try the cheddar onion biscuit. They warmed it up and it was super moist. The gluten-free hand pie was savory and really tasty. They warmed that up too, which made it even better. I enjoyed the funky chairs!! Every single one was different, which was fun! Lots of people were working, but the noise level was totally manageable to get things done. Will be back! read more

Friendly and quick service when I stopped by to get an afternoon tea on a hot day. Super cute interior (just like the rest of the locations) and always appreciate taking a look at the community board to see what's happening in the area. I met a friend here to go over some marketing strategies when I came up to order I was literally ignored for 5 minutes while the employee carried on a conversation to the side with her friends. This was my second order because I already had a muffin and Aztec mocha. I hope that the service gets better once they settle into the space. It's a great spot with lots of seating and a few seats outside to enjoy on a beautiful sunny day. The muffin I enjoyed was soft and squishy. Super fresh. read more

The sausage & egg biscuit is phenomenal with the warmth of the hot cocoa. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who wants good service, good breakfast, and who wants to work. The tables are perfectly crafted, and they play soft warm-hearting music that soothes your ears. Their chai tea is so good! It does contain dairy though so be careful if you are dairy free! The atmosphere in this place is really nice. Fun space to meet up with a girlfriend or two. The newest branch of Insomnia Coffee has opened in the Reeds Crossing town center. It is a lovely open inviting space with a nice vibe ---lots of seating indoors and outdoors. They even have a water bowl for the dogs outside. I ordered an oat milk Cortado and it was perfect. I also tried their egg hand pie and quite honestly, it was not heated at a high enough temperature so the crust was soggy. I brought it home and threw it into my countertop oven and that fixed it right up. They have a beautiful selection of pastry: croissants, cinnamon rolls, fruit danishes, as well as a menu of hot items such as egg, sausage and cheese biscuits. I live in the neighborhood and plan to be a frequent customer! read more

Love this company for their coffee and treats, but our first trip to this new location which is very convenient to our house was very disappointing. The girl at the counter taking orders was very cold, even when I made a joke about my daughter and being indecisive, there was zero reaction, not a single smile or ounce of even trying to be friendly. I have no tolerance for younger generations not having the decency to put on a smile while they're in a customer service role. Do better Insomnia! read more

I really like the coffee here. Customer service could use some work so this coffee shop is right across the street from a residential. That is very dog friendly now I understand that dogs aren't allowed in the coffee shop however when you're coming to get coffee, it always seems like I get harassed by my dog now I'm just getting my coffee and going outside. I would recommend only engaging those with dogs that sit in the actual store to be engaged. I am a veteran and I would prefer. Maybe they'd come ask me about my veteran discount before they asked me about my dog while I'm in line. nobody likes a Karen. read more

When this location opened near me, i was excited. However, after visiting this location a handful of times, i am nothing but disappointed in the service here. I have often felt like Insomnia, as a company, does not care about their customers. As an example, they don't and never have had any type of rewards system.. no punch cards, no discounts.. nothing, ever. But now, after the service at this location, and my experience in other locations, i am very fed up. Today i went for coffee.. when i first arrived, no one greeted me despite there being 4 visible employees. Worst, i stood at the counter for several minutes before the employees decided to stop talking and laughing amongst themselves to take my order. I then ordered. They asked for my name like usual.. i then began waiting. I kept waiting and waiting.. around 5-6 minutes later and after the employees started laughing and goofing off again, i realized no one was making drinks. So i went around the corner and there is my coffee sitting there. Mind you the FOUR employees had been completely goofing around the entire time. No one called my name, no one acknowledged me and even after i collected my coffee, they continued to chat amongst themselves, never acknowledging me. For reference there were only three customers in the store. Me and two other ladies. One lady was sitting and reading. The other was waiting for her drink too. We both realized our drinks had been ready but no one had bothered to let us know. The employees saw me waiting. They often glanced over between chatting. They knew i was clearly waiting for my drink. I was looking straight at them, waiting.. it's not like i was on my phone or doing something that where they didn't want to bother me. They simply ignored me and couldn't even let me know my drink had been ready. In addition, Insomnia REALLY needs to step up their game as far as ambiance. All of their locations, in Beaverton and Hillsboro, look like abandoned sheds. In the older locations, such as the Cornell and Baseline locations, they are literally falling apart. It's not that i don't like their style of design.. clearly they go for a worn eclectic style but, there's "worn" and there is JUNK. I've even gotten splinters from the gross wood "decorating" the counter. It's genuinely pathetic considering they're charging around $8 PER coffee.. my drink often costs $7.75 and they can't invest in something other than garage sale furniture and raw wood!?! Absolutely ridiculous. I honestly love their coffee but, EVERYTHING else is unacceptable. I highly recommend Insomnia start actually appreciating their customers and showing their customers some type of respect and loyalty, as we show them. This has been my go to coffee place for nearly 10 years. I have been a consistent loyal customer yet, i feel so insulted and frustrated by this company and their attitude towards customers. I DO NOT recommend this location. I hardy recommend Insomnia at all. They have delicious coffee but AWFUL service, disgusting decor and a very stuck up, unappreciative demeanor.. Being a huge fan of the Insomnia Coffee in Hillsboro on 53rd, I was so excited to have one so close to home and couldn't wait to go. This morning, very early, my husband and I went to try them. We parked and walked up to the first set of doors we came to and there were two little pink stickies on the doors saying use next doors. We went to the next set and they were locked. I googled the business, it said they were open and so I called the phone number listed. I got a message saying they had not set up the phone to take messages. I then peered through the glass and saw a couple of employees and then still peering through noticed a third set of doors. So around the building and success, doors that opened. Now we were in and they were there and we were ready to start the day off great. The gal who took our food and coffee order was wide awake, perky and positive. The gal who was making the coffee looked like she had just rolled out of bed and did not want to be there and actively seemed like she did not know what the machine in front of her was for. It was kind of bizarre. The food came up in less than 5 minutes but the coffee took quite a while and we were the only ones there! The two lattes, one with cow milk and one with oat milk were not good at all, drinkable but not the quality one expects. Seemed like the grind was not fresh, taste was flat and a little bitter. They asked if our order was take out or for there, we said we were staying, the food was on real plates but the coffee was in paper cups. Not sure if they have real cups or not. Parking is plentiful and free. This new shopping center is very nice, lots of potential, but this coffee place needs to step up the quality to compete.
