I understand that some things are beyond the control of a specific location. Even so, as a client, there some things that are oh-so simple, it begs the question: "Why on the good, green earth is this not a thing?" I stopped in desiring a single cookie, and a single scoop. Lo and behold, this isn't possible. One can get two scoops, a single scoop between two cookies, but not one-and-one... not even an option. Okay, fine - I skipped the ice cream and went for a solo Chai Latte (seasonal) cookie. It was served warm, and was tasty and flavorful. A terrific seasonal option and break from my tied and tested chocolate chip order. The ambiance did not make an impression, and perhaps it might land better at nighttime when one is suffering with a bout of insomnia, but during the day, it is 'eh'. The service was polite and quick, though I was the only person in at the time. Finally, where it comes to the value proposition, given the location, I think $3.39 for a speciality, seasonal item is fair - neither a steal nor a ripoff. Final verdict: While Insomnia may be a terrific option at 3am, during the daytime, I would say they are a 'good' option, but not a destination. I also find the menu structure less than sensical for those who don't want large portions, but do want ice cream. read more

We used to love Insomnia cookies but their quality has absolutely tanked. We ordered three cookies and all of them were much smaller than they were a few years ago, insanely sweet and had no flavor besides just plain sweetness. Another company ruined by a PE firm. read more

I was homemade cookies and what better place to go besides Insomnia cookies. It was nice and clean and everything was today. The refrigerator was fully stocked and everything was organized. I was instantly greater by staff and she was very patient as I was taking all day to order trying to figure out what I wanted. 4 boxes of cookies ordered for night shift nurses/staff at the hospital for approx 35 people Door dash delivered and Insomnia forgot half the order. Called this location and worker said there is nothing they can do since it was door dash. Asked to speak to the manager and apparently the manager Lela was out at midnight and not there. Insomnia cancelled the order and gave a refund but wasn't willing to deliver the rest of the cookies 9 miles to complete the order. Asked to have the manager call me back and am currently waiting for that phonecall! horrible customer service and even though I didn't get to taste the cookies because there wasn't enough for all staff members, they looked like Jewel cookies, didn't look like anything great. It's insane that there is an insomnia cookies located in South Loop now for all that late night goers who may be heading home from their adventures. My friend and I were on our way back from Old Town and decided to hit up this new location. Our detour took us down Wabash and finally to the storefront, where we saw the massive line of cookie munchers at a little past midnight. Being plant based, we went for the three vegan cookie options: Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip, and Double Chocolate Chip. For a half-dozen ($8), we managed to get two of each in order for both of us try them. My favorite here was definitely the Birthday Cake. It hit the spot on a late Saturday night for sure. Most other cookie shops with vegan options tend to just have chocolate chip, so I loved that we can add the funfetti to my cookie this time around. Definitely a good choice! read more

I love insomnia cookies ive gone to multiple locations and every time they never fail to be delicious... till now. Somehow all the cookies i have are raw in the middle and theres no sign of crisp in any part of the cookie.. not that i want it hard but its just mush? On top of that the m&m chocolate taste burnt..? I cannot resist ice and cookies, but together they're definitely a dream come true & insomnia cookie does it right! It's a small little joint, but the staff at this location are SO friendly. I decided to switch up one of my ice cream flavors in my cookie'wich last minute and the staff member was super nice about it & made our cookie'wiches quickly. It's a bit pricey, but I wasn't able to eat the whole thing in one sitting (two cookies w/ two scoops of ice cream) and it stayed yummy in the freezer when I ate it the next day. So glad one opened closer to me. I was too far for the Hyde Park location and too far for the North side location so I'm happy about this. Only downside was their speciality cookie flavors like orangesicle was sold out. They did have stock of their classic flavors so I still got my sugar fix. Now they have ice cream and can make ice cream mixed with the cookies. Brilliant idea! They also have cookie butter which you can get with ice cream. I love that this location is close to 3 different expressways and you can easily detour yourself here from any direction. To say I had a craving is an understatement. I got a couple classic chocolate chips and also a banana cinnamon chocolate situation (I think it was) that was delicious though I dropped one on the ground.
