My colleague brought us 24 assorted cookies for $22.00 "the big man on campus" package. I was a newbie and had never even heard of Insomnia . Apparently there's over 135 locations mostly in college towns and cater to students who want to order cookies at night and they deliver, just like the concept with pizza, but they deliver cookies. Everyone loved the cookies but it wasn't really a sweet dream for me. I like baked goods that aren't overly sweet, thin crispy cookies that are firmer and chewier. I like to hear the crunch when you bite into the cookie. But if you like super sweet, warm, and soft cookies this is your place. I would consider myself a cookie aficionado and as a lover of all things chocolate chip so it's no surprise that I enjoyed Insomnia Cookies. There's little on this Earth I enjoy more than a cookie and a cold milk. I do prefer my cookies a bit thicker and doughier than Insomnia prepares them, but they were baked to perfection and served warm. Pretty darn yummy. We had the chocolate chip, double chocolate, mint chocolate, m&m, and snickerdoodle. Our top two were double chocolate and mint chocolate. Next time we would skip the snickerdoodle. The rest I would gladly eat again. The main reason I am docking them a star is the company's website. Our address could not be found through the website so we were unable to place an order for delivery through the website. We ultimately gave up with delivery and tried to order to-go to then receive unresponsive page errors with every attempt. Accepting online order defeat, we decided to drive to the store but then realized the order had in fact gone through after receiving a confirmation email. I'm glad I noticed the order went through before going to the store to order in person. Definitely will be back, probably won't order though their website. Not worth the hassle. It's a Tuesday night. Hardy the busiest night of the week for food deliveries. It's also after 9pm, so no dinner rush either. I placed my order at 9:00. At 9:15 I received a call from the store informing me that my order was ready but they were out of one of the cookies. After I told them what to substitute, I was told my order was ready and was awaiting a driver. The order status was not updated again until after 10 - Driver Assigned. So here I sit an hour after my order, 50 minutes after being told the order was fulfilled, waiting for cookies that may or may not ever arrive. read more

Literally the WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. The only reason why I gave this rating two stars is because the cookies + ice cream was delicious. But for glory's sake -- there is a PANDEMIC going on! Pick up your phones if you're offering curbside pick-up. We placed an order at 6:40PM for 7:30PM (curbside pick-up) and showed up quite early to pick up. Mind you, there was no one else on the curb, waiting for orders. Didn't look like there was any deliveries going in and out. But we still were being mindful because it IS the weekend of Mother's Day. I worked in fast food for four years -- I get it. We sat on the phone, waiting for someone to speak to us for 20+ minutes. We didn't get our food until 8PM and it was only because another employee stopped by to pick up her own food and I had tried to wave down the one who was currently working (and obviously ignoring us) yet she proceeded to run back into the back. It took me getting out of my vehicle and angrily waving my arms in front of the window (didn't get her attention) and cursing "WTF" for the other employee to notice I was upset and call her coworker for us. No apology when she brought out the food to us. So thank you for the employee that was off the clock, but that wasn't her job at the time. No gloves or even cleaning of the spatula in picking up cookies. This needs to be prefaced by saying I have NEVER in my life written a review before. I have had my fair share of "disappointing" food orders, but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I ordered my cookies online for delivery at 9:30, it said 20-25 minutes until delivery. After waiting an hour an a half, I thought there was no possible way something wasn't wrong with my order, so I called. I never usually comment/get annoyed by peoples attitudes because I understand people can have bad days, but this girl was RUDE, short, and winded up hanging up with me without saying goodbye or anything. She told me the driver would return at 11:30 and then bring my cookies. I would have had to wait 2 1/2 HOURS for four measly cookies. Nothing is worth that, and these cookies are nothing special. I asked for a refund and she gave me an issue, saying they were "apologetic" but they were busy today, and I said I just simply did not want to wait anymore and I wanted to cancel the order, to which she responded "you'll be refunded" and hung up. I get being busy but from the time I she answered the phone, she was rude, and I cannot even justify a reason for a 2 1/2 hour wait for cookies on a Tuesday night. I love this place; my first exposure to insomnia cookies was in Philadelphia, where I visited several locations, including a cookie truck near Drexel's campus. I started thinking, "Why isn't there one of these next to U. Delaware?" and shortly after that, this location opened up. I am very surprised at people commenting that the prices are high. Seriously? It's $1.35 for a cookie...some places in malls or other locations sell big cookies that aren't good for even more than this. It's also only a few cents more than a dunkin donut, and I think it's much better, at least to me. I usually go with chocolate chunk but I like most of the cookies here. The "deluxe" cookies are massive and I usually can't finish one of them, but if I'm really hungry I can usually eat two regular cookies. I also am really surprised at the comment that the cookies are "far too sweet". I actually have a pretty strong aversion to overly sweet baked goods. The sweetness level of these cookies seems pretty moderate--and well within the range of what I like. My only suggestion for improvement? I know this may seem weird to some people but I really wish they sold whole wheat chocolate chip cookies. I love the flavor of whole wheat and when one of my friends baked whole wheat chocolate chip cookies and I was like, "Wow, this is freaking awesome!" And whole grains are a lot healthier. I think it would be a really great offering if they would offer a whole grain option other than the oatmeal raisin cookies (which do have a bit of whole grain in them although I think they're still made with normal white flour).
