The employee working the cashier was very rude and standoffish. He rudely said he couldn't accept bills over $20( which I understand but there was no need to yell it, a simple sorry we can't accept bills over $20 would suffice). I ordered a six pack and he wouldn't even provide me with a box(that the six packs usually come in). Instead he stuffed my cookies in the little paper inserts so what I got was multiple cookies all bleeding into one another and making the flavors all mixed up(chocolate chips on top on peanut butter and snicker doddle). Worst customer service ever. The cookies are great, but I'll never order through them again. I ordered a bunch of cookies for my daughter and her friends for Valentine's Day. I called in the afternoon and placed the order for between 7pm and 9 pm. I checked the tracker at 8:30 and they hadn't gone out for delivery yet. I called and they said because it was Valentine's Day it would take longer. I own a business, and what I can say is don't promise what you can't deliver. So, we rescheduled it for 1:00 today. Then at 10:00 pm. they told my daughter they were at her dorm. She'd already left to go see some comedian. I called again. They gave me 6 free cookies by email. oh brother. So, today, 2:30, no cookies. Mind you, this whole thing was supposed to be a surprise. Customer service said they never give a specific time for delivery and she doesn't know why someone told me 1:00. She called the store and they said they were out for delivery. Again, I own a business, and if I screwed up so badly that an order was a day late, I'd put that person first on the list. They finally showed up a little after 2:30. Piece of advice. THE MOST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE EVER. I called for delivery at 7:15PM and it is 11:40PM and they have still not arrived. THE LOCATION IS 8 MINUTES AWAY. I called them six times and they told me they were "out for delivery" and the next time I called they said they "were about to leave the store" clearly they don't care about customer service at all. Ordered cookie cake to be picked up at 5pm. Called to let them know the day before that I would need to change the time and have it by 1pm instead of 5pm. Employee said it was no problem and she would let them know and change it on my order. At 1pm, I went to pick up the order. I was told it was not ready and the time was never changed. I was told they needed one hour to get the order complete. I told them I would need the cake by 3pm and I needed it delivered because I had somewhere to be. They agreed that it would be delivered to my location by 3, and that they were very sorry for the mix up. If my issue ended here, I would have been satisfied with my service. At 4pm (an hour after my agreed upon delivery time) the order was no where in sight. I called the store again to be told they had no idea what was going on so they had to call the bakery. Bakery states the order was "just picked up" by the delivery driver and it should be here "within 20 minutes". I wait for the Order for another hour and call back. I am told this time that NOW the delivery driver has just picked up my order, and in fact, they never picked it up an hour ago. The employee tells me that he should be there within the hour. I wait another hour (now 6pm) for my order, and I receive a text saying my order/delivery has been canceled because the driver is unable to complete the order. I call the store again. I am told that "the driver couldn't make the delivery" and that they'd "have to find a new driver". At this point I was very very unhappy. The birthday party that this cookie cake was for was at 7:30pm. I was supposed to have this cake by 1pm and it was now 5 HOURS LATER. I explain that this is unacceptable service and that I absolutely need this order by 730pm at the latest. The employee agrees that it will arrive. At 7:23pm, my order finally arrives, 6.5 HOURS AFTER THE TIME IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE READY. In addition, cookies were cold and the box smashed. This is unacceptable service. I am an employee of a large company in the area and I will be sure to let management know to not ever order from insomnia cookies again because they are unreliable. read more

Their cookies are pretty good, when you can get them. They have impossibly slow delivery and even worse service. The last time I went in to the store there was a line of three of us and we waited over five minutes, no one had come to help us. My mother walked a little beyond the counter and asked if they could receive some help. Upon doing so, the employee began to argue with my mother saying she was not allowed to do that and was being rude. To which we took our business elsewhere. 5+ minutes of not being served to asking one of the employees to help us to being yelled at by the employee. Not the best service model. read more

Just a PSA to anyone that might fairly new to working in the food service industry, don't act like an entitled douche to your customers. I tried Insomnia Cookies for the first time today, and here is how my experience went: Employee: How can I help you? Me: I want a cookie ice cream sandwich, what are your recommendations? Employee: I don't eat the cookies here. Me: Why not? Employee: We make 800 cookies a day here, and when you make that many, you don't eat them. Me: Well that is not the experience I had when I worked at [XXX] bagels. [I choose my cookies and my ice cream] Me: By the way, it's not really good marketing to say you don't eat the cookies. Make something up. Employee: Well it's not coming out of my pocket. Also, the ice cream melted before I even got back to my office which is literally right across the street, so I now have two soggy mediocre-tasting cookies that I paid $7 for and don't even want to eat. I must say I'm a little disappointed with insomnia cookies. Today was my first time trying them and I don't think I'll bs back soon. First things first, I placed an order online and the biggest pet peeve when ordering online is a website that forces you to create a log in; insomnia cookies website is one of those. Anyway, I ordered the cookies and it was an estimated 15-20 minutes for them to be done so I sent my boyfriend. When he arrived about a half hour later the person at the front said they didn't get any orders, he asked if he could check again the person says yeah and disappears in the back...and never came back. By this time he called me to make sure I actually ordered which I was able to confirm when I logged back into my new account on the website. Eventually someone told him he could order cookies they just wouldn't be fresh and that they were in warmers. I got 6 for $8. It honestly was not worth the money. Cookies were very small not only that, they were moist but only bc they were undercooked. Way too doughy for my taste. The best one was the m&m cookie, the sugar by far was the worst. Hopefully it was just an off night. The website does need to be fixed, it's a huge inconvenience when ordering to create a log in just for the merchant not to receive the order anyway. This latest visit was with my 17 year old....so 30$ later, we're out the door, only to rebake theses doughy things. Once crisped up a bit they were...ok. Very oily though. If you are a foodie,and know your ingredients, I'd describe the flavors as flat- one note. If you get someone on the line eventually, it will be a call center who can't do anything and will refuse to transfer you to any local store. They are reprehensible. read more

The price was very high it seemed for what was offered, but if you're in a pinch and don't feel like baking them yourself, this is a fine alternative. I ordered a batch of cookies for a friend. Some how the number was typed in wrong, they ask for a phone number. However the cookies said delivered, when they weren't. The deliverers will not go up to your door and knock when they ask for specific delivery instructions. They didn't even try to get a hold of me to tell me my order didn't go through. AWFUL!!! Drove 30min to here because I kept hearing how great they are. Firstly, they were out of most of the cookies so selection was limited. I bought 24 cookies and 2 delux cookies tonight, when I got home I realized they only gave me 18 of my 24 (over priced) cookies. I called the number on the box and found out it's a call center number. Told them what happened, I was then told condescendingly "Go back to the store..." I told him it was just too far to do that and he said well that they don't have phones in the stores... seriously?! So I asked him if he could get in touch with them and let them know. He said he couldn't, he only takes orders. So I asked how they notify the store when someone files a complaint or compliment and he said "the email team" I said great, can I talk to them? He said "Go to the website." Such a pain!! Now I'm getting back in my car to take an hour round trip for 6 stupid cookies because of incompetent people.
