There was a point to where I would go here every other day during the Summer. It has been a staple hangout spot, especially if you are a night owl. I do think the drinks, namely the water, is on the more expensive side with it being about $4 per bottle of water. With that being said, it's an easy fix to just bring your own if you plan on hanging outside for a while. They have a code on the bottom of every receipt for a survey on your experience, and if you take the survey you get a free classic cookie. It can be taken one and over again, but it has a wait period of like a week between each survey. It's pretty reliable for a snack at midnight and it's always been a cozy place to check in and sit outside on Summer nights. I have a lot of good memories going here. The staff are always pretty friendly and patient from what I've experienced, and I really have no complaints. The parking in the area is pretty rough, but it's not really the companies fault. Parking is pretty bad near the UNR campus, so sometimes you would have to take quite a hike to go there while also parking legally. read more

I stopped in just two nights ago with my family. We were hoping for such a better experience than the one that we had. When we entered the store, employees were helping another man who was placing an order just before us. He kept going back-and-forth between what he wanted how much he wanted to spend and what flavors he wanted. He took a very long time. It seemed like he was going to make a fairly large order, but he ended up only ordering two items. I don't know what all that commotion and chaos and fuss were about if all he ordered were two things. We stood in line for quite a while as the cashier didn't seem to have anybody in the store to help relieve him. And even then, when we did see other employees in the store, they were talking and goofing around. I don't know if they were on their break, but it didn't make for a very good look. My family and I, we were a party of three. Each of us ordered an item. As we were waiting to place our order, several other people came in after us. One of them was on the phone. She was so incessantly and unnecessarily loud. It bothered me so much that I asked her to be quiet. Of course, to be even more obnoxious, she got louder. Ughh! I'd really hoped that this review was going to be more about the store and not its other customers. But, they also helped to make our experience what it was. The store was clean. The line was out the door. You must understand, this store is so small that you really can't have more than 4-5 ppl in here before it's full. The menu is clearly posted above the cashier's area. My first time at an insomnia cookie shop. My daughter took me because she loves them (as much as my homemade cookies). I have to say I was impressed. The variety of cookies to choose from was great. The cookies were just how I like them with a little crisp to their edges. They don't have that heavy, soggy, wet dough center like another popular chain. You can choose a single cookie or a pack which is great for sharing. The customer service was outstanding. These cookies are good, but not amazing. The blondie just tasted like a really thick cookie. The girl made it seem like it was going to be gooey like a brownie, but it was kind of dry and hard. The s'mores was too chocolatey for me. The triple chocolate cookie was standard. And the salted caramel was my favorite. It was gooey and chewy which I really liked about it. They were all really sweet. We got coffee from next door and that helped balance the sweetness. Overall this is my third time trying cookies from here, but the first time fresh. I was craving warm delicious cookies and ordered online and had them delivered. I went with the Deluxe 4-pk and to my surprise it came with 3 classic cookies for free. Fyi, I'm not sure how long that deal will last on door dash. As for my deluxe choices, I went with the confetti, s'mores, a peanut butter & Jelly, and a chocolate chunk brookie. As for my 3 classic cookies, I went with white chocolate macadamia, double chocolate chunk, and a vegan birthday cake. However, apparently they ran out of the vegan birthday cake and instead of reaching out, they took it upon themselves to replace it with something I got already--the peanut butter and jelly. I really appreciate they did that, but kind of wished they picked any other flavor but that one. I thought it would be a fav but it ended up being my least fav. I would note the parking is a little difficult to find, but it's not impossible. Something I thought was strange is that they don't take cash to pay, but they have a tip jar/box. Back to the important stuff ... cookies. Is it the BEST cookies I ever had? No, definitely not. For the price and convenience, it got the job done. I ordered through the Yelp app. It was very quick and easy. I needed it delivered to work and I was able to put in a note to tell them where to go which is helpful. The cookies were delivered warm. It arrived earlier than expected (30 minutes). However, once the cookies were cooled down, they were stuck to one another. I think it would be helpful to separate the cookies a bit if the box is big enough (this box was big enough). Otherwise, the cookies were delicious. I ordered 1-2 of every flavor. During the cold months in Reno (more than half the year) it's not fun waiting outside for some cookies. The staff are not that friendly. The line is not efficient (it took us almost 30 min of waiting). I don't understand what takes so long to order cookies and ice cream. The Deluxe cookies are $4 each. Crazy! They don't taste like homemade cookies in my opinion. It tastes like pre made cookie dough that just has to be thrown in the oven. The staff were also very insistent about waiting a full 10 min to give me a cookie that was done baking. I appreciate the concern, but I do understand that a cookie fresh out of the oven is hot. I don't need a lecture about it. My fiancé does enjoy the ice cream here. It's a good spot to come to every once in a while, given that Reno does not have a lot of dessert options, especially late at night. I think I'm good to come here 1-2 times a year. I've visited this location a few times and it was good for the most part. I have been craving their double chocolate mint for weeks but every time I'm in the area it is early morning and they don't open until 11AM or 12PM. One Friday morning I waited until they opened so I can finally fulfill my craving. Welp, disappointment ensued because they didn't have the one cookie flavor I really wanted. No fear though as I carefully picked six other cookies to try while the cashier patiently waited for my choices. We took our half dozen cookies out of town and ate them the next two days. We enjoyed every single cookie and I vowed to return for the coveted double chocolate mint! I returned on a late morning the following week and to my surprise they didn't have double chocolate mint again! I had the munchies really bad the other night! I don't keep sweets or chocolates in the house because I have no self control! There's a wonderful place in San Jose that charges double but is worth every penny! Now let's start with the taste, I only tried 3 of them and then threw the other 2 away ...the "worth it" factor was just not there! They were just awful in every way. I'm very picky because baking is my cooking forte. The funfetti was overly sugary, just too sweet, and that's saying a lot for me...the M&M one was weird, it had a minty taste, i literally detest peppermint and I'm allergic to it as well...I spit it out quickly before my throat would swell up and washed my mouth and brushed my teeth as well...nasty. The description should have said mint chips were used! The final one I tried was the sugar, it was also too sweet. My only dislike was that when you order in person they hand you your ice cream sandwich just in a small plate but all their orders are to go so I didn't understand why they give you your order in to go containers.
