Horrible!!! I was put on suboxin, synthetic heroine, and left to rot. I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and acute dehydrated with the doctors worried about my kidneys and so swollen with infection.3 days later, six intervenors bags of antibiotics, 1 antibiotic shot and 1 week, 4 times a day antibiotics, diarrhea city, and not even a call, email or anything from this horrible place Plus, I was sexually harassed by a staff member who also threatened me with 5150, I'm not a 5150 and he laid hands on me. I'm not surprised that he still works there. Women, and men, don't go here!!! It's a hell hole. it's not even in Malibu! There Malibu house burned down. It's in Agoura Hills! It's a nice place but I'm sorry, it's NOT MALIBU!!! False advertising! A friend picked up my belongings but I'm still waiting for them to ship me my purse, credit cards and other items. DONT GO HERE FOR YOUR RECOVERY!!! A lot of the staff and counselors are good but it's not worth it in my opinion unless you want to be drugged out , 1 counseling session in 3 long drawn out week while the pneumonia took over and the dehydration started. I write this not as a patient myself, but a loved one of a potential patient. I would give this place zero stars if I could based on the unbelievably disgusting attitudes of the staff. They showed absolutely no empathy for people in distress and often inflicted further pain with callousness, name calling, and completely unprofessional behavior. I would not trust my loved ones to go to a facility where the staff reacts so viciously. It's your job to interact with people in the throes of addiction, and Sam proved he did not deserve this job. Name calling is unacceptable in any business, but especially a business like this. There is no care or concern, only scrutiny and cruelty. Any questions (such as if insurance is accepted) are treated as "not taking it seriously enough / wasting their time." Sam even said that he "lost money" when we opted not to attend here. The money should not be the important thing when someone is asking for help, and you should not be abruptly hanging up on these people in their moments of vulnerability! I couldn't believe how quickly he went from encouraging growth to cursing us out. It seriously calls into question what is happening inside when they're so outwardly awful. If you are looking for a safe, caring place for your loved one, this is not it. There are other facilities in the area where the staff actually care about setting up addicts for a sober, healthy and happy life-- save your time and mental health and write this place off altogether. read more

They outright lied about my insurance. They said they called and ask-- reporting back to me my policy only covers 300.00/day. I called. They said no one called to check with them. Also they said they cover 2kk per day. When I also called the first time the admissions person said they have beds. When the lady called back with my insurance lie she said "well we wan out of beds" ... So in about 15 hours they processed several clients we admitted. Seriously ??? I did go before. It helped so much. I'm upset at the lies and being overtly rejected. They are here to help heal.... I guess some people are too hard to help. read more

The best RTC experience I've EVER had... Hello, I've struggled with the silent epidemic in the gay male community (methamphetamine substance abuse disorder) for over 20 years. I attended my first treatment center at the age of 16. I attended my first SO-CAL RTC at the age of 22. I'm 36 now. In and out, in and out, up and down. Homeless, not homeless. Rehab, Rehab, Rehab. The hardest and the toughest. Low budget, no budget, government funded to private pay PPO only. When I arrived at inspire Malibu my soul was broken and exhausted. I didn't know what to do but I knew it wasn't what I had been doing. After 3 days of detoxing I looked around and panicked. I had to work pay bills and "take care of business" I politely said I was leaving and that I made a mistake in coming. Dr. Lugo immediately had a 1 on 1 with me and helped me to see that I needed to trust the process and that my panic was not from fear of financial ruin or loss of homestead... but that I was experiencing a different loss... loss of chaos. I was gaining peace for the first time in a very long while and had forgotten what it was to have that feeling. From that moment on I made a decision that sobriety was something I truly desired and that I wanted it 100%. Over the next 3 weeks I took advantage of everything Inspire Malibu had to offer... 1. Daily beach outings (Zuma Beach) 2. Daily Gym outings 3. Four (4) groups a day an hour each. (Comfort in comparison to most other places) 4. Five (5) star personal chef prepared meals (I ate... filet mignon, robust Jumbo shrimp, chicken cordon bleu) just to name a few. 5. One on one therapy 2 times a week with a clinician with at least a masters degree. 6. Client request forms for anything from cigarettes to Diet Coke which were filled within hours. 7. Bernard and Mark were amazing transportation staff and deserve a raise. 8. Weekly Target outings 9. Weekly special weekend outing (Natural history museum, Botanical Gardens, The Movie Theater, Griffith Observatory and iconic Hollywood Sign) 10. Psychiatric evaluations on a weekly and case by case basis. 11. Private rooms with individual attached bathroom and Shower. 12. The ability to use Smartphones, devices, laptops and watches. (Which is almost never heard of in most other places) Inspire Malibu gave me the back what Meth took away and tried to make me forget... The desire to get and stay Sober. This was the most comfortable and luxurious experience I've ever had crawling out of the darkness. I strongly recommend it to those who have history going in and out and may have the tools or had the tools at one point but lost them or need to re-sharpen them. They don't encourage or discourage 12 step here so I personally recommend continuing treatment after inspire Malibu at both Partial hospitalization Program (PHP) and intensive out-patient (IOP) levels past the initial 30 day Residential Treatment Center (RTC) level. Studies show the longer the treatment time - the higher the likelihood of long term sobriety. Bills don't get paid if you're DEAD! Children can't be cared for from the grave. I came into Inspire Malibu for about 30 days. Everything from the process of admission to getting settled in was better than I expected. Sheldon was the lady who helped me get the entire process figured out. I had to find a center in a ridiculously small amount of time and she helped make that possible. Upon entering, I was welcomed by the entire staff which was kind of intimidating to anyone going into a situation like this for their first time. However, I became ever so grateful for their hospitality and sympathetic energy. My therapist was Samira. I'd have to say she made the process unlike any other. I mean that with utter fascination and gratefulness considering I have never found a therapist to click with like her in the past 12 years of therapy. All in all, the place is amazing. Dr. Mohammad makes the medication and diagnosis process extremely painless and accurate. He assures you are always being prepared for discharge properly and makes sure you have a proper understanding of your medication. No one will force you to do anything here. I can't say enough about what a wonderful rehab Inspire Malibu rehab is... I do not have one thing to complain about. The help, the staff, and the care was exceptional. There was always constant support. The classes and education-- tools I learned was intelligent and practical. All taught by professionals (not just people in recovery with no college degree-- as it was in my past rehab that was AA based). The program was not shame based, I left feeling like I deserve to be sober. I recommend Inspire Malibu 100%. read more

Went through the whole process, (Sam pumping up the program, the intake meeting, wired the upfront required $8000 prior to arrival) and was on my hour and a half drive there for my 2-3 pm arrival with all of the belongings they told me to bring. At 2:15 (10 minutes away) Sam called to tell me they gave my spot to another person. Apparently they found someone whose insurance benefits paid more than mine (though I paid everything they asked for). Doesn't matter. Sam went from this sugary, gushy solicitous person when courting me, to a contentious, arrogant ogre when I questioned being told I'd have to wait until their next discharge (again after all of the preparation and hour -1/2 drive... being 10 minutes away). This is more dangerous than if they had just told me they didn't have space to begin with because the preparation process and the let down made for a more emotional state. All of that time could have been spent preparing for another facility with a higher ethical standard. Still haven't received my upfront $8000. Be careful of any facility that requires payment upfront - this was the max out of pocket deductible for my insurance so I have no idea how much they were going to bill them. read more

The best drug treatment ever - this place has a informative relaxing schedule and is the only place that's ever worked and helped me get off opiates! Three times a week you go to the beach to Ocean nearby in Malibu three times a week you go to the gym and every Sunday you get an outing. The rooms are spacious and amazing and very high-end. Inspire Malibu has saved my life. I've been using for over 20 years now and have been through about 14 treatment centers, and none of them seemed to help. When I get to inspire Malibu, I didn't go through any withdrawal pain, and almost right away Dr Mohammed put me on a regimen of meds that work for ME. I loved my stay at Inspire Malibu. I didn't know what to expect as it was my first time going to treatment and I was nervous but the intake guy Bob made me feel super comfortable and ready to make a change in my life and all the staff was very welcoming when I arrived. Every morning we went to the gym or the beach so it was great to work on getting physically back in shape and healthy. The food they made every meal was delicious and the programming there was very diverse and extremely helpful - particularly having three one-hour individual therapy sessions a week! It could be emotionally exhausting at times but I see that that's what I needed. They set me up with a great and thorough exit plan that has helped me stay on the path I started there. Getting sober was the greatest decision of my life and I'm so thankful I found my way to Inspire Malibu. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs help. read more
