This is the second time my son has gone into a sober living house after rehab. The first time was on the east coast where we live and there was very little supervision/support/accountability from that house. My son moved out and did well for awhile back home with us and then moved out on his own. Eventually he was back to his addiction and found Graceland on his own through Instagram. We are a very close family and were beyond hesitant for him to be on the west coast dealing with his issues without our physical support and presence. It has honestly been the best decision for our son despite how difficult it was to let go and let Graceland help. It might seem strange to let addicts direct and hold accountable other addicts but they know all about this problem and the hold it has. The staff have worked the program and can encourage and relate to what each new house mate is going through. We were able to attend Sunday family zoom meetings which were incredibly helpful realizing the similarities addicts deal with making us more aware and giving us a better understanding of our son's mindset. We were able to connect with an AA support group of other parents going through this with their own children. Not to complain, but to encourage each other. Our old way of helping our son was not working so Graceland was truly a Godsend. If you love someone who is an addict you know the constant worry for their safety and health. The staff responded quickly to any of our questions. My son was actually hospitalized twice while there due to anxiety/ depression. The staff could not have been more helpful. My son also has Crohn's disease requiring 6 month infusions. Even with covid, the staff got him to those infusions. He was even given help getting a job and lots of encouragement dealing with the stresses that go with everyday life. We are beyond thankful that our son has made it through the program at Graceland and is a graduate. We believe staying for the year and making those longterm connections and being held accountable, changing his mindset and habits is a good foundation to continue his sobriety. Patrick Ridge has an awesome message, so much so I'm writing this from Australia without having even been there but I can say for certain the visibility of this place and the stories that I hear have honestly helped me to cut down on and eliminate some parts of my own addiction issues. Just great to be scrolling and be reminded of such an important part of not only my life but the lives of so many of my mates. It's so good and rare to see a genuine, positive example of what can be done, how you can think, what you can change. I've never even reached out and their online content has genuinely helped me in a bunch of ways, even just literally as a positive, entertaining, relatable distraction for a craving which I have used many times. Nothing like a bit of good advice, and visibility of people in recovery just like me to get your head back on the straight and narrow. I live in Australia, in the last 6 months I've gone from heavy poly-drug use to medically controlled and monitored use for the purpose of reduction to safely stop. I have not been to this ranch nor have I met Pat but I am so grateful for their existence from the literal other side of the planet, I have full confidence that Graceland is doing exactly what it was built for and changing peoples lives not only on site but as an idea to many others. Online judgement is far from helpful at times, and there is no way to know either way, but to say that this place is not helping people is just to ignore evidence - I haven't even been there and I have benefitted. People that say its bad, rate it 1 star etc., have not had their lives worsened, their addiction strengthened, they've just seen a method they don't agree with or a situation that makes them uncomfortable. This man and his wife are doing wonderful things for people. Does every one who comes thru deserve there love respect and kindness No but they still give it where it's needed. you have to understand the people they deal with are your everyday people who are out and down on luck I would love for these people to get the recognition they deserve they have done an amazing things so before you go and say negative stuff what are you doin? if you're not helping then stay out of it keep your comments to yourself we need more like this man and his wife. I am a beyond satisfied & grateful resident here at Graceland Ranch. The staff here offers so much love, support, and excessive amounts of time to save our lives. It's teaching me to have integrity, to live honestly, to be accountable for my actions, and helped me discover & strengthen my relationship with God. They guided me to salvation from my dark path of addiction which was leading me to death. I had lost myself, my family, and everything in my life..but here they are loving me back to life. I'd like to clear something up. This is a DIY sober living. The folks who are bashing this place don't know how recovery works. This is simply a group of alcoholics/addicts who live together and are helping each other maintain sobriety. If you're in recovery you know how important this concept is. It seems like it's not an accredited sober living so they can't take insurance so, no they are not body brokering. The dude Pat is making a living off of something he is passionate about (sobriety). I just spoke to Danielle, she was a consummate professional. She returned my phone call right away and she really took the time with me to talk to me, answer all my questions and took the time ask me questions and was very genuine. The reason I called was that I knew someone that went there and told me it was the best decision he ever made. That the staff was professional and caring. Everyone is held accountable, that it's very structured, and they really make you put in the work. Absolutely the BEST rehab you will EVER go to, hands down! Not only do they care about their residents and their sobriety, but they care about their families, their needs, and more! They constantly show love, consideration, compassion, and GUIDANCE!!! Not only do they help people within their living environment, but those who are struggling on the outside as well. The person running this place called Patrick is on social media and records everyone, make the tell there past. Patrick yells at people very aggressive, he dosnt let people talk. When he acts like he is trying to help someone he bullies them makes them crash out and blames othe people that was in the battle on social media. To make people feel like they are nothing so you can get them to come to graceland is just absolutely wild. These people are not you toys or puppets they are human and normal people. These people are doing God's work. They help addicts get sober. It's not easy work, addicts are some of the best manipulators, and to love an addict is heartbreak. I am a recovering addict myself, and I follow this facility on YouTube and I love to see not just the good stuff but the hard stuff, too. Seeing these people help heal others gives me hope that there is more to recovering than just the suffering. These people are here to help. people who can't get in or can't get funded seem to get upset and leave startling horrid reviews and haven't ever set foot in the estate. Patrick and his staff does all he can to help the best way they know how. and it's very effective. no excuses need to be made for anythin. Results speak for themselves. I have been living here at Graceland Ranch for almost 6 months and I am absolutely amazed at the results so far!
