Hands Down the Best Mental Health Program Out There. I can't say enough good things about Elevations Behavioral Health. It's hands down the best mental health care I've ever experienced. The setting is incredible -- beautiful houses, exercise equipment, pools, jacuzzis, and so many community resources. They even take you on outings to the Pacific Ocean to watch sunsets -- and yes, you *will* see dolphins! From the residential program to the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), every detail is thought through. The Santa Monica Mountains surround you, and the views are so breathtaking you can sit for hours just taking it all in and really feel yourself start to heal. The food is next level too -- they have a private chef who customizes meals to fit your diet and treatment needs, with tons of healthy options. And unlike most places, you get both individual and group therapy *every day*. That's almost unheard of at a residential program -- usually you're lucky to get one or two individual sessions a week. The staff and therapists are absolutely amazing -- they genuinely care and don't let you give up on yourself. If you're struggling, please know you're not alone. I recently spent a month at Elevations and it was truly amazing. The staff, from counselors, nurses, to the support team, are incredibly compassionate and understanding - they genuinely care about each client's well-being. Dr. Feeley is exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure top-notch medical care, even facilitating a rapid neurology consultation when I needed it (within 2 days, it's normally a 6-12 week wait!). What sets Elevations apart is the team's personal experience with mental health challenges, making them empathetic and relatable. The facility and food are great, but it's the people-centric approach that makes this place special. I'm grateful for their support during a tough time and appreciate the ongoing alumni support groups. My stay at Elevation. I was in a pretty rough place and needed to get some intensive support. I found Elevation while researching and what drew to me to them vs other places I saw was; * Private Room. I had to be honest with myself that this was something important to me, to have my own space. * Daily Individual Therapy. In addition to group having daily individual therapy to help work through things and make the most of the time there. * Electronic Devices Allowed. I have two young kids and I wanted to be able to stay in contact with family as well as use my laptop to research and view content related to what I was working through. After filling out the form on the website Stephanie the admissions director reached out right away. Before she walked me through more details about the program she checked in to make sure I was ok, I felt supported already. She helped answer all my questions as well as get the information she needed to verify insurance coverage and what I would have to pay out of pocket. She got back to me quickly again and we figured out an admission date. When I arrived in Los Angeles I was picked up at the airport and driven to their Calabasas house. I won't go into too many details about the house, it's pretty fantastic and there are picture on the website. I was greeted upon arrival, checked in, given a tour, and sometime to settle in my room. Everyone in the house from the cleaner, chef, coaches, therapists, and psychiatrist are supportive and genuinely interested in making you comfortable and ready for doing the personal work you need. There is a wonderful variety of therapies from individual, group, equine, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, nature walks, pool/jacuzzi, art, and music which all come at your problems from different angles and build on each other. The coaches are always available and engaged between sessions to keep the momentum going and support you. Having daily individual therapy plus two groups daily helped me dive deep into the underlying issues I was facing and my progress built on itself everyday. I felt like I was making a months progress every week. My therapist Chad was just what I needed, he was thoughtful, creative and pushed when needed to help me go further. I arrived in a very low state (not my usual self) and was able to quickly let go and unravel, the staff and my fellow patients helped put me back together and create sustainable coping techniques and strategies so I could return home a new person. Having house-mates was a wonderful experience, even though we all came from very different walks of life and reasons for coming, we found deep common ground and support with each other. We laughed, and cried, and laughed again together. The center of a house is the kitchen, and at Elevation this was no exception. Chef Jerry and Josh not only made amazing and healthy food, they were open to having us join the process and learn how to cook. We spent most of our afternoons between sessions joining in on the cooking process. Chef Jerry was like another therapist who gave us amazing life advice and was always open to listen to use when we needed a little support. Everyone at elevation from the cleaner to the coaches and the patients all eat the same food together. It felt like a big family. I felt that when I needed alone time and privacy or wanted to do something social I could move between those modalities anytime. I never felt pressure to join in anything, just welcomed. This was recommended by my wife who thoroughly researched places for me. My rating is based off the care I received. Places like these can be very subjective. Places like these are very much emotional, and therefore it's very easy for a person to like or dislike. I admitted myself due to crisis of unresolved trauma. I've been in therapy of all sorts for over 15 years. The specific house (Agoura Hills-Kenan) had the staff and therapist (Dr. Tracee Williams) to reeducate and educate me, reignite a fire for my life journey, and leave me with a better relationship with my inner child. I am overly satisfied and happy with Dr. Williams and her care for me. I owe her everything. My family will be happier and healthier for it. It takes more than getting educated. You have to come ready to work for the betterment of yourself. And keep in mind, you won't be ready until you're ready. read more

As a patient at elevation I can say Elevation Behavioral Health is the most open-minded and considerate treatment center out there. They listen to you and have an open door policy. This is the best treatment center in the nation and I have been an employee/patient at other treatment centers for the last 8 years.   I knew I needed treatment back in February of this year and it all started with Kelly as my admissions coordinator. She made me feel comfortable and safe even in the midst of my delusional thinking that led me to treatment. I had to get a surgery and couldn't go right away and she didn't push me to come in sooner or try to smoosh her way with me. She was very patient with all of my questions and answered in a reasonable time to help me feel safe going there despite my delusions.  Once I got to Elevation it was miraculous. It was not just because of the the beautiful mansion I got to stay at, but also the staff. There were coaches there all the time to help me make this mansion my home, while I got treated for my disorder. There were a lot of things to do during our free time like playing pool and ping pong, or the variety of art supplies readily available to make crafts. Elevation Behavioral Health helped push me enough to help battle my nagging diagnosis. This is the first time as a patient that I felt ready to move forward with my next level of care. As someone who has NEVER been in a residential treatment before and had only heard about varying stigmas about residentials being hell on Earth, scary, with therapists that didn't care and psychiatrists who just wanted to get you drugged up so they can make a quick buck--I was mortified trying to make the right decision for my recovery. I knew for a fact that I NEEDED residential treatment because of how depressed I was getting, with very intense SI. Let me tell you that the single greatest decision of my life, and to keep my life, was to go here to Elevation. This is a residential treatment center with therapists, techs, and a psychiatrist unlike any other. I felt so incredibly welcome the moment that I walked in the doors, was introduced to so many amazing techs, immediately got with my therapist, and in just an hour, I knew what life at Elevation was going to be like, and I felt confident it would help me to get where I needed. I can't say enough about how amazing this place is. First off, the property is GORGEOUS with amazing views outside. The rooms are spacious and comfy. There's a tennis court, basketball court, and pool. Literally impossible to not find SOMETHING to enjoy while you're here as far as recreational activities go. Secondly, all of the techs who hang around the house were seriously the nicest, caring, most welcoming people ever. They didn't feel like techs who were there to "take care of you and watch over you." They felt like they were your friends. I actually got very close with several of the techs, and I was sad when I had to go. The amazing techs when I was recovering were Cherokee, Ida, America, Allison, Ryan, Blake, Dan. If it weren't for them, I can't say Elevation would be as welcoming of a place. They really did care, they were so friendly and nice, and always down to chat with you or do any activities like games or sports or whatever you felt like. I'll miss the fun game nights I often had with Ida, America and Allison, and all the laughs we shared and deep conversations we got into. Cherokee is an absolute light and going on outings with her was always so much fun. Ryan is absolutely hilarious and always knew how to put everyone into a good mood. Dan is such a caring soul and knows how to make you feel welcome. Blake is a presence that everyone feels, and such a wonderful person to talk to. Thirdly, the case manager, Jillian, was stellar. I knew that I was going to continue to receive the best care possible, and that whenever my time was up in Elevation, I was going to be set up for success to only better my mental state and continue treatment. Jillian is the kind of case manager that goes ABOVE AND BEYOND for her clients. Honestly, being younger, I felt like she was a caring Mom away from home who was just making sure that her son got the best care possible. To feel THAT cared for by a case manager is nothing short of incredible. Now that I'm out of Elevation, I actually have hope for the future thanks to these programs and options introduced to me by Jillian. Fourthly, the therapists Megan, Ramella, and Michelle were fantastic. Ramella was my therapist I saw daily during the weeks, and she really knows how to challenge you and tell you what you NEED to hear, no matter how difficult the pill to swallow may be. If it weren't for Ramella, I wouldn't have been able to gather the deeper understanding of myself that I have today. She really helped me to see all the ways in which I was self-sabotaging and set me straight. I got to do groups with Megan, and she did an amazing job of bringing the other clients together and getting us to bond. By the time I left Elevation, every person I was there with became my close friends. I still chat with them all regularly. The Psychiatrist, Dr. Sandor is REMARKABLE. He is someone who actually will listen to you, and his deep understanding of mental illness means he's sure to get you on the right medications. Dr. Sandor was the first psychiatrist to get me started on what felt like the right regimen of medications, and set me up for continued success after my time at Elevation. I would like to have looked back at my time with Elevation in a happy way. In some ways, it was a great place to be. the groups were pretty good. The food was pretty good. The staff was great. However I developed covid under their care and the kicked me out! They kicked me out of the program because I got covid in their care. They said I could come back when I tested negative. I let them know I was free and clear (negative test and a doctor's letter!) and they never contacted me back. I reached out to several people who worked there and I was completely ghosted. The admin was a complete nightmare when I was there, and they continued to be. Who ever is running things behind the scenes (Dr. Priya Chaudhri) should be absolutely ashamed of herself. I thought this was overall a tremendous place. It was just what I needed to take a break from the stress of the daily grind and come to terms with some of my problems that have been holding me back. I am writing this review as a parent of a 24 year old male who spent 40 days at Elevations Behavioral Health at the Augora Hills residential home. Truth be told, we did not think "Cam" would survive one day in this environment. We planned on him calling us asking to leave by day's end. Instead, we got a text from him saying "the therapist here is amazing!" I wish I could give you names of staff and therapists that helped him out during his stay, but suffice it to say, they were all great! Cam entered Elevations for help with severe depression/anxiety with secondary alcohol addiction. He was about rock bottom and needed more than once a week visits with a counselor. He thrived in the safe and nurturing non-judgemental environment that Elevations provides. Meals, outings and activities at the home were all positive! I know one of his favorites was group therapy in the hot tub! Alicia, our contact person with this home, always had answers for us, and if she didn't, she would direct us to who could assist us. It has been 7 months since his stay and he has maintained his sobriety. For this, we are so thankful. When you are at elevations, you are in a protective bubble, for obvious reasons. Cam did struggle a bit transitioning back to "real life" in North Dakota during the winter. In hindsight, I think we should have really pushed for him to enter the outpatient or transitional living programs offered by Elevations. If I had to say anything negative, it would be in regards to our own insurance company not paying for any of his stay. Thank you to Chris in the insurance department for doing what he could to battle for us. If you are battling addictions, depression/anxiety and feel you have exhausted all other options and treatments, please consider Elevations. I never thought in a million years that it would help our son, nor did I think he would ever open up to the therapists there, but the transformation has been amazing! Updated Review: My time at Elevation Behavioral Health was overall pretty good. There have been some bumps in the road, but those bumps have been resolved and I can confidently say that my stay here at EBH was worth it. I learned skills in the residential program that I can take with me and hold onto for the rest of my life. I had extreme anxiety when I came in and now I still have anxiety, but I have developed skills and learned tools to help me cope with it and even relieve it at times. I never had that before I came here. I appreciate the techs here so much and all of them are great in their own ways, but specifically I really wanted to recognize how amazing Zach, C. Joe, Chelsea, Nicole, and Tim are. Chelsea and Zach go above and beyond to make sure everyone is okay. They work so hard. They are superhuman in their ability to create a fun but safe environment for us as clients. C. Joe is so down to earth and relatable. He is one of the techs I opened up to the most. Nicole is so genuine and sweet, and I really love when she is working. She is one of the best listeners. Tim is the nicest and most kind tech ever. He always makes sure we feel comfortable and valued. I appreciate each and every one of the techs that work at EBH. The therapists who work at the residential program are very good. Megan is the kind of therapist who will challenge you no matter what. She is down to earth and great at her job. She changes people's lives. Katelyn is the kindest therapist I have ever met. She is patient and gentle in her approach and gets through to us in ways that touched my soul. Mike and Melissa are angels who deserve awards. They have both helped me work towards resolving and processing some very traumatic events in my life. I will forever be grateful to them. Pretty much everyone who works here is kind, empathetic, and motivating. They want to see you/us succeed. Alicia in admissions has been such a helpful person to me. She is kind and generous and humble. She genuinely wants us to feel like we are important. Hannah (Case Manager) is awesome and has helped me SO much with paperwork and submitting things to work. I attended Valley Detox a couple of times ( unfortunately, and my fault, no failing of theirs ) in 2020. Today I am over two years sober. Although I believe the want and ability to get and stay sober is ultimately an individual decision, the time I spent at Valley was a great stepping stone to lasting sobriety. The accommodations are excellent, it's a family run business with great individual staff, and a place you can safely medical detox while being well taken care of and take advantage of therapies and groups that give you the right tools to build on. my son caleb went here for 2 weeks for dual diagnosis treatment for mental health and addiction. he loved it! he hasn't done better anywhere else during his in and out of treatment facilities for the last 6 years. he was a model patient, but our insurance would only pay for 2 weeks, so they kicked him to the curb and back to sober living after diagnosing him with bipolar and schizophrenia and putting him on several meds. i asked them not to do this and sure enough he's been in a downward spiral and tried to walk out in traffic and kill himself. he needed a place like this to keep him at east 60 days but as usual-- its all about the money!!! read more

An absolute waste of time and fraud of a program. I wish I had listened to the reviews on here talking about how shady the billing was and horribly the programs are run. I figured it must just be an exception, but that is absolutely not the case. After my stay, I'm being told I owe thousands of dollars even though we had an agreed upon amount at the beginning of my stay. And in fact that portion was "refunded" since the program was so terrible but I'm still on the hook with the insurance claims. Now that I'm gone no one will return my messages to figure this out, so it's creating even more anxiety than what I left with. As for the program itself, don't expect trained professionals or personalized care even though that's what they promise. No one was trained in what I I came in for and the staff is just a rotation of random people that are barely screened, let own trained in mental health. On my first two days there, two different staff members caused multiple panic attacks. The schedules are a joke and rarely followed. I could go on and on with how terrible this place was. The poor management caused more anxiety than it solved and now I'm on the hook for thousands of dollars even though I was promised multiple times that there would be no surprise billing. On one positive note, there are a handful of people that do generally care about the patients wellbeing and made my stay more comfortable. Unfortunately that's where the positivity ends. read more

My stay at elevation began after incredibly traumatizing events in my life made it difficult for me to function at a normal level without experiencing flashbacks.To start, the facility is as beautiful as advertised in terms of the look and feel of the main house. It is expansive and accommodations and amenities are exactly as described by the owners and staff. Moving on from the superficial to the more substantial as it pertains to mental health, the main reason for my stay at Elevation, the therapy staff are awesome and I felt an instant connection to my main therapist Jarred (soon to be Dr. Trusty), who I would highly recommend to see if he is still at the facility after my stay is over or even if he is working elsewhere. The technicians are friendly and I have become close personal friends with most if not all of them as well as the main chef Richard who is a lovely conversation regardless of what the topic may be. Even the maid Maria is sweet! The owners are cool, respectful, and understanding of your particular story, and the clinical director definitely knows what she is doing in relation to accepting clients. The vibrations at the facility are of acceptance and understanding regardless of what you are there for because it is a dual diagnosis facility and the client/ resident/ patient base is incredibly diverse. I have made a lot of friends since being at Elevation and it seems like I am able to make a positive connection to every client that walks through the front doors which is a clear indication that the admissions staff members know what they are doing. In terms of the actual therapy, the main branch of modern clinical psychology utilized is a Holistic-centered Humanistic approach that focuses on individuality, creativity, and self expression. However, this is not to say that medications and modern psychiatry are not utilized to properly treat and manage patients as well. I think the clinicians at Elevation strike the perfect balance and the mix of philosophies and ideas resonated well with me and I have been able to find a great deal of healing here. I have never cried in front of other people before I came here and it was an incredibly liberating feeling. If you are in a similar situation, Elevation is a great option and they will treat you well regardless of your particular situation. read more

I have been to many places. Regardless of how nice the BHTS & staff were I was falsely promised many important things such as my stuff being transported with me upon discharge. Once we got to the airport the flight had tried to charge me for bags and explained they communicated beforehand and the staff pressured me to make the flight because "sobriety comes first", and even though I was promised my things would be shipped to be I got on the plane with literally nothing BUT my purse in hopes they would fulfill their promise. Here it is now 2020, (I discharged in 2017) I have made MANY attempts to try to retrieve my things but it's been so far just more false promises. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER: YOU SEE HOW IT SAYS 48 HOURS TO RETRIEVE THINGS, HOW THE FUCK CAN I RETRIEVE SOMETHING THAT I WAS REFUSED?!? THEY REFUSED TO DRIVE ME BACK TO THE HOUSE TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER FLIGHT SO HOW IS THIS MY FAULT THAT YOURE TRYING TO SAY ITS A POLICY The better business bureau will be hearing from me about you because both Blake and Matthew were involved in this whole process, so if the OWNER who was there when I was reassured me I would see my things that I came in with and was successfully discharged how can you sit here and say it's like unclaimed items?! read more

How do you ever express enough gratitude to the folks at Elevation for believing in you and helping you learn all you can to enrich your life - bumps, bruises, and all. The staff. I found these folks to be your biggest cheerleaders. They want you to do well. They go out of their way to provide a warm and supportive environment. They are respectful and protect their clientele to ensure the environment is one that is safe and free of negative distractions. Nothing and no one is perfect, but they strive very hard to provide 5 star treatment. And they don't miss that mark by much. The housing. Housing is gorgeous and exquisite. The environment provides the opportunity to exhale and enjoy while you work to heal. The homes are clean and comfortable. I felt pampered my entire stay. The therapy. Life-changing. I haven't been to a mental health facility before and was nervous about going. I felt very welcomed by staff and therapists.

I want to thank the doctors, therapists and staff at Elevation Behavioral Health for bringing my son back to me! My son had a serious psychotic break last year and several health professionals said that he may not recover from it, which was heartbreaking. When he started at Elevation, he was incoherent, seeing and hearing things that were not there. We had lost our intelligent, driven son who was an engineering student at a prominent university. Over the months that he was undergoing treatment at Elevation, our "old" son reemerged. He became more lucid and has regained his footing. He still has a long journey ahead, but the staff at Elevation helped him recover and we cannot thank them enough. The staff is caring, thoughtful and they take the time to educate my wife and I about our son's illness and what we can do to help him live his best life, which is comforting when you are going through such a heart wrenching life experience. If you and your family are struggling with mental health issues and you are looking for people that you can trust with your loved one's life, I would look no further than Elevation. Elevation is a nice place with a pool and peacocks. I was initially apprehensive having a male coach due to my prior traumas. Then I met Coach Greg. He was pivotal during my stay and through his genuine, caring and loving guidance I learned the importance of self love. He was able to "tap" into my subconscious blocks and help me to release them- and I will be forever grateful. Because of him I learned to focus on what I want and where I'm going and for the first time in my life, I can release the pain of my past with love and compassion. The rest of the staff were friendly and the place is beautiful. There is a lot of downtime and I wish we had more activities and outings because the ones we had were extremely therapeutic and a lot of fun. Overall, even though I left before my discharge date (my own choice) , I gained much more insight and can say I am finally living life on life's terms- with excitement and love for the future. read more

This place saved my life! And it wasn't the tennis court or heated pool, or even all that amazing food. It was the people who brought me back to life... -Monica: she's truly special and her ability to lead, manage, AND unquestionably motivate, enourage, care at the same time is something I watched with awe every single day. I learned so much from her, and I don't think she even knows it. -Esteban: so empathetic and hard working, his ethic and love for his job is so admirable. In my humble opinion, his passion for helping others is an unmeaurable gift. -Dr. Sandor: it wasn't ever just about meds when we would meet. I felt like he believed in me and I am committed to making that belief worthwhile. -Jarred (my therapist) well, there simply are not enough words. He is the most contagious part of Elevations, and in the most amazing way. I am not certain of many things, but I do know that I am forever changed for the better because of him. Half of the time it wasn't even what he said in our 1:1 sessions, it was how he led by example outside of them. I am a firm believer that you inspire most in the moments that you think people are not looking. Both in and out is session, the examples I can list are endless, so I will say this: I am not just inspired to be the version of myself I didn't know existed- but I know I left stronger AND lighter. I am a heck of a lot more prepared for the world (and where I belong in it) because of Jarred pushing me in his super power way (it's scary how good he is sometimes). I consider myself very fortunate and also in a great amount of debt to him. Put quite simply, he saved me by teaching me how to save myself. These are just a few words, though I am sure I do him zero justice. Who know I would love it at Elevations? My last day was harder than my first night. I was always awful at meditation, but maybe I'll try visualizing being back when the world stopped for 45 days and I finally got to know (and maybe even love) myself. elevation behavioral health is nothing but a circus, and clinical director ian howard is the ring leader. my stay was filled with gaslighting, disappointment, and broken promises. my admissions representative told me that i either had to get a covid test before coming to ebh or i would be provided with one upon arrival. i opted to get a test at home prior to traveling to california. after speaking to other clients, it came to light that they were never given covid tests when they arrived. the therapist that was originally assigned to me was clearly inexperienced (and i later found out she was UNLICENSED). soon after i was given a new therapist, ian. ian is also the clinical director of elevation. during sessions with ian he would frequently pick up his phone and text while i was speaking. ian is a master manipulator and gaslighter, and spoke to me in a manner that should never be conducted in a mental health facility. he entirely lacks empathy, and should probably find a different career path. almost every day i would bring to staff's attention that my shower had issues and there was mold on my sink. neither of these issues were fixed over my entire 30 day stay. on my first clinical day i was administered bloodwork, along with two other clients. we asked daily for our results, and finally after three weeks we got access to them. instead of having a doctor go over these results with us, we were simply handed an ipad to look at them ourselves. as we do not have medical knowledge, unclear results caused panic and we had to wait for staff to contact the psychiatrist to be assured that we were okay. other issues like ants, maintenance issues, and lack of structure were the least of my concerns in this house of horrors. one of the promises that was made was that i would have daily therapy sessions. however, ian never comes in on wednesdays, so his clients only received four days of therapy a week. i truly feel worse mentally now than i did before i went to elevation. ps i tested positive for covid a few days after returning home from ebh, and when i texted the tech phone to inform them i got no response :) sure hope nobody in that house had it! read more

This place went above and beyond my expectations. I checked myself in with minimal hope of having any type of future and left feeling as though I could one day conquer the world. The staff is unparalleled across the board. I arrived in horrible shape on a Thursday evening and was greeted by Joe, the glue of the tech staff, and felt immediate relief and comfort. From then on things just kept getting better and better. Hannah, my case worker, tackled my every concern head on and minimized my level of anxiety almost as soon as I heard her welcoming tone. Having been diagnosed with bipolar 1 nearly twenty years ago I've seen a plethora of psychiatrists though none rival that of Dr. Mark Jaffe who is the primary psychiatrist. He treated my individual case and needs with extensive knowledge and empathy and was able to stabilize my medications and mood in a very short time. Jessica was my primary therapist, again she's one of the best I've ever worked with and an amazing person as well. Blake, the director of operations is another solid player who'll go out of his way to do anything for his clients without passing a glance of judgement. In addition Ashley is an amazing person, therapist and director as well. This isn't your classic treatment center. Prior to arrival be prepared to dive into the depths of your underlying issues with no reservations. This is as individualized as it gets. I couldn't urge you enough to consider working with Elevation in the process of achieving the greatness you deserve. read more

Do not go! I flew from Colorado to what I was told was great care by the admissions coordinator, (Alicia). I was told I would receive 5 personal therapy sessions per week for trauma and PTSD... my "therapist" was a family therapist and I saw her for one individual session for 20 min within 5 days. When I tasted many concerns, I was apologizrd too for admissions not being honest. Furthermore, Alicia K. On some of their reviews is the admissions coordin for the company, not a client. there are no CNAs, Q-map of nurses on site. There was one therapist who was never their at the Acura hills home, and the house is ran by techs, non-licensed, not certified in mental health, trauma informed care, etc... and most of them are early (7-9 months in addiction recovery and illegally able to give narcotic medications . The IOP you are driven too is for two hours in the morning, no yoga, no gym, acupuncture came on a sunday and only did one client. This place is insurance fraud and not swiped for anyone with mental health diagnosis. Period. I've reported them to the BBB, and JCHMO who they are associated with for malpractice. The food was garbage, a plate of scrambled eggs in the morning and lunch was two hours late three days which was just a salad. The snack cabinet was empty, the freezer was empty and they lock all the food in cabinets. Do your research, call other places and ask about Elevation. I was warned not too go, and never imagined it was that bad and dangerous for those with trauma. read more

So prior to arriving at Elevations I was at a local IOP program. It was terrible so I was incredibly nervous but knew due to the stress caused by that IOP I truly needed a higher level of care. So lets start with the house. It's beautiful and the view is incredible. You also have access to an amazing infinity pool and hot tub. I was lucky enough to get a private room with a sliding glass door to the back yard. Next we have the admissions process. I spoke to Priya 3 days before I began my journey to So Cal. A lot of other facilities wouldn't take me due to some of the medications that necessary for me because of my various health issues. Priya assured me that they would make this program work for me and so far they have. No meds have been taken away and nothing added without consulting my PCP, Rheumatologist and my Psychiatrist I work with at home. So Saturday we loaded up and my husband and I drove down to Agoura Hills. He helped me settle in and then he headed home. This day consisted of A LOT of paperwork and just getting settled in. I have to say this day was made much easier for me by the friendly techs that truly care about the residents here. I know Isabell was here my first day but I can't think of who else was here that day (sorry guys but you know I love you ALL. Monica,Meagan, Trista, Rachel,Matt, Harold,Brian, and Allison you're all amazing and I couldn't have done this without you.) The administrative staff was just as great. Blake the Operations manager even came in Sunday on his day off to be sure we were all able to go on our beach outing. These off site adventures are usually organized by Hannah, the therapists (mine is Jarred and he's a bad ass just an fyi), and Ashley. (I am not sure what Ashley's job title is but she's incredible, she truly cares and she keeps everyone here in check.She is the head honcho!) Hannah and Max (case manager and administrative manager) are always there to support help and encourage you on your wellness journey. Everyone here deserves a massive raise, including Richard the incredible chef and nutritionist. They all really care about whats best for you. I am at 21 days tomorrow and my insurance wanted to cut me off and have me go to a lower level of care. Everyone banded together and fought like hell Dr. Sandor (the psychiatrist), Jarred and Priya put together a strong case and fought hard. Aetna tried to delay several times but ultimately Priya fought during the Doc to Doc and we won. So I am happily a resident until next Friday at a minimum. Not only is the staff amazing but I have made friends for life with other residents. Its great to meet people who truly understand what you're going through. My time here will be coming to an end in the few weeks but I am so happy I found this place, right when I was going to give up on someone taking me on I talked to Priya and it changed my life. This place is beyond amazing and I truly believe saved my life. There are so many reasons that I cannot Fully verbalize just how amazingly special Elevation is. I was treated like family from day 1. Every staff member here will always have a special place in my hearts. The two therapists Megan and Ramella are hands down the best of the best. They both have amazingly unique and special gifts. Ramella is so funny and smart and her quick wit makes her groups something to look forward to. Megan was my therapist, whom hands down left the biggest imprint on my heart. She is phenomenal at what she does, incredibly supportive, an amazing listener, and pushes (with permission) to help her clients grow. She has a way of making you want to grow without even realizing it's happening. The transformations I've seen come from everyone she touches is a miracle. I have never gotten so much my whole life as I have from working with Megan. The case manager J is so supportive, open, and willing to work and help in every case and situation. She jumps in to help within any situation that arises. Dr Sandor is funny, caring, and incredibly intelligent. He is sure to personalize treatment and remembers everything clients say. The director of operations Blake is also absolutely phenomenal. He goes way out of his way to help all the staff and each client and works tirelessly to make sure everything moved flawlessly. He is always kind, friendly, helpful, and lays down some incredible wisdom. Lucky to have an incredible amount of support from the best treatment option available. Peaceful entry. Patient staff. Comfy beds. Clean home. Helped me get back on track w sobriety. I came from being homeless w no hope and left feeling strong and ready to take on the world. Only issues while being here were w other clients. My advice is sit back. Shut up. Smile. And learn all you can. Drama only kills you along with stress. And I am too blessed to be stressed. Stay away from these criminals and heartless money grubbing millionaires if you aren't at least one of the following: 1) a relative or close friend an Elevation CEOs; 2) comfortable paying tens of thousands of dollars above the contractual payment to the CEO (Dr. Priya Chaudhri) with no paper trail or itemized bill, in violation of your federal and state patient rights; 3) comfortable with your family being regularly contacted illegally behind your back (at 30 years old), without your consent, by CEO Dr. Priya Chaudhri -- in violation of the contract you signed with Elevation where you said who they legally could contact on what terms; 4) don't mind the CEO of this center (Dr. Priya) terrorizing your parents in order to extort at least $12,000 (6,000/week flat rate on top of insurance payouts, maybe more). Dr. Priya contacts them directly and halfway thru your treatment, telling them that weekly payments of the random and abhorrently high $6,000 is required in order for their ill family member (you) to continue treatment -- again without your knowledge or consent. And without your parents knowing the law or knowing they are being abused. Your parents will have to take out a loan and use their retirement in order to pay these and other fabricated charges, like paying for an unrequested private room because patient census was low so you didn't have a roommate until the end). Of course, all via credit card with no paperwork, nothing you can submit to insurance for reimbursement, no delineation of services ever given aside from saying then money was going toward unspecified "extra individual sessions" -- mostly an additional art session once a week with a lovely young woman who specializes in mindfulness, but obviously doesn't charge 3k/hour. Even the rest of Elevation staff has no idea where the money is going, and were forced to play along because Dr. Priya is their boss; 5) finding out later that your treatment staff emailed your parents detailed information about your day as an attempt to not have to provide an explanation of services rendered for the 6,000 without your consent; and/or, 6) just generally don't like your HIPAA rights violated and the contractual obligations considered by Elevation to be optional, if they can get away with it. By the way, Elevation billed insurance 85,000 for a 30 day stay (3x Elevation's own stated base daily rate), months after the stay and all at once on Christmas when presumably insurance claims/billing departments aren't looking, while simultaneously stealing the deductible and out of pocket costs that you paid upfront and were to be reimbursed by Elevation once they were paid by insurance. What was especially upsetting on a personal level was that Bobby promised that he would personally help sort out getting the deductible/out-of-pocket money back afterwards. Despite multiple calls and emails on the part of both patient and parents (who LOVED Bobby by the way, everyone did), Bobby never returned the calls, responded to the emails, just disappeared. Also, don't be surprised if your health insurance advocate was so horrified by all of this, he suggests reporting the facility to the government administrative agency that certifies and monitors medical/treatment facilities. This was my first time at a place like this. I came in nervous and scared for something unknown, but this place exceeded any expectations I could've had. I was here two and a half months and I'm feeling so different from when I came in. Alicia is beyond amazing and so sweet! She makes the admissions process so easy and is there for you whether you have a question or are having a hard time. I spent a month at RTC and the therapist Megan is easily one of the best therapist I've ever had. She's so sweet, but will push you to see your full potential. The techs at each house are great and always there for you when you need someone to talk to. If you go to RTC, the chef Alicia is amazing. The food is healthy and it's always something new to try. Hannah is simply the best! She's so easy to talk to and so helpful with getting paperwork done. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is struggling. :) read more
