Their tech came to our home last week (once he…read morefinally got around to showing up on the second day after he was scheduled to arrive) to perform what I expected to be warranty work on our AC since they installed it in 2020. He very condescendingly informed me that the leak was coming from our evaporative coil but "they didn't install that evaporative coil" so it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. If I wanted the evap coil replaced, it would cost me $3500. I thought that was pretty strange -- that they would install a $7,000 AC in 2020 but not install a new evaporative coil with it? Hmm.... Needless to say, I didn't have him do any work since nothing was going to be covered by the warranty. Next, I called Signature Heating & AC (they were recommended here in Nextdoor). Their tech informed me that the evaporative coil in my home was manufactured in 2017. Since our previous AC unit was installed in 1998, Summit HAD to have installed the evap coil. I ended up having Signature Heating recharge our AC. After thinking about it over the weekend, I contacted Summit and told them that I found out they lied about the evap coil and told them I was considering legal action. Only then did Summit "look over their paperwork again" and admitted to installing the evap coil. Now they say they are willing to honor the warranty and will only charge $1260 in labor to do the work - which would be great if I hadn't already paid $767 to recharge our AC system! Too bad they weren't honest from the beginning. Not only that, but the Summit tech forged my name to the diagnostic invoice. Also, to find the refrigerant leak in the first place, the Summit tech told me it would cost me $1100 for a pressure test. But when the Signature tech arrived, he used a refrigerant sniffer to locate the leak at no charge. I highly recommend Signature Heating & AC. Quentin (Signature) spent a lot of time explaining what was wrong with our system and gave us some options. I didn't feel like I was being lied to, up charged and taken advantage of.

Mark showed up on-time and was very personable and professional. I know it seems trivial, but a clean pressed uniform, eye contact and a firm handshake mean something to me. He explained the plan before starting. He showed me before & after photos when he was done and made recommendations for future work without trying to upsell the call. I really appreciate that! I ended up signing up for the Maintenance Plan which has them come back twice a year because this is the type of company I want to do business with. Would definitely recommend True!

Last week we had one of our units ice up and True sent out one of their technicians to see what was going on. Matt spent several hours and had to leave and pick up a part to repair our unit. He got the job done the same day in temperatures in the high 90s ! To our surprise when the bill comes, there was no charge! True did not even charge us for the service call! Our 2 units where just past the warranty and True stood by their product. True Heating and Cooling is top notch and I highly recommend them.

So I called an A/C service who said they would be there in the morning. They never showed but they finally called at 12:40 saying maybe tomorrow. Nope! Bubye...I called a local company...not a chain but a family business...with a receptionist who asked me to describe the problem. After hearing the issue she said it's probably a capacitor that costs about 32 bucks at Ace Hardware but if we come put it on there'd be a $450 charge. So I Googled and You Tubed...how do you fix a capacitor on a Trane A/C? After watching a couple...I went to Ace and bought a new capacitor...yanked the old one off and put the new one on...with a little bit of Jerry-rigging as it was skinnier than the old one and didn't fit the bracket...and voila! Air conditioner is humming along nicely!!! Saved a lot of money! Thanks Dorothy at Davey Heating and Cooling! It's nice to have great customer service even though I never used your service. Who does that any more! Well done!

Dorothy offered to schedule a tech that afternoon and then started running through the most common causes. With her on the line I found a blown fuse on the units motherboard and was able to replace it (props to Home Depot for having them in stock). Bottom line, she was polite, responsive AND helped me solve the issue over the phone at no cost. I will definitely call Davey Heating and Air for all my HVAC needs in the future.

We contacted Blue Horse Heat and AC per a referral from other homeowners in our neighborhood. We…read moreneeded to know if our A/C unit needed fixing before turning it on in hot weather. We had been told by another company that the evaporation coil above the furnace was so rusty that it was leaking refrigerant into it, and that it needed replacement of the capacitor and condenser fan motor. At a whopping cost of over $2,000, it was highly suspicious. They also were pushing an upgrade for an additional $700+. We needed a second opinion, and a technician from Blue Horse was available sooner than we expected. The technician stated that all of the evaporation coils that he looks at are rusted due to metal coming in contact with moisture as part of what an evaporation coil does. He then inspected the outdoor unit, hosed it off, and said our A/C was safe to turn on. The best part of the appointment: No charge!

The team has never tried to upsell and has always walked through every recommendation without pressure. Only once did we need some tuning that resulted in fees beyond our annual maintenance costs.
