They didn't work AT ALL, I told him that and said I'm ready for the surgery. He told me to make an appointment at a later date, and that's when him and his secretary completely ghosted me. They "left multiple notes" for the doctor to get back to me, they "left multiple notes" for his secretary, Wendy, and I never heard anything back from them. I was just left to suffer. So yeah, screw you for that. I will say he was very skillful with his injections. I was very nervous about them, but they went very well. This isn't in his control, but his waiting room was awful to be in. Filled with old people staring at me and whispering to each other about me, "she's too young to be here" "she's too young to have back issues." that's some REALLY dumb shit to say. Young doesn't = healthy... Yall are too fucking old to be that dumb.

I had a progressively worsening situation where I was losing the use of my legs. It was only after…read morean MRI of all three sections of my spine, where the culprit was discovered, a serious herniated disc at T8, T9. The hernia was about 10 mm which is huge relative to the space your spinal cord and Dura need and was pressing directly on the spinal cord. After reviewing the MRIs, I was advised urgent surgery was needed. Since I could see the progression and was living with the scary negative trend with my leg strength, waning, I was eager for the surgery. Dr. Lopez told my wife after the surgery that every aspect of the surgery went better than he had anticipated and that he knew I was better already. I was able to walk out of the hospital same day and was so grateful for a reversal of what could've been a dire situation. Although I still have some lingering neurologic sensations in my legs. This is not unusual as nerves can heal at very different rates, but I can say after five months I am nearly back to normal, my experience with Midwest orthopedics, Dr. Lopez and his staff has been nothing but positive. During the investigation of my spine, it was also duly noted that I will likely need ACDF surgery as well and I have symptoms of severe radiculopathy. I have scheduled surgery with Dr Lopez and have all the confidence that my outcome will be outstanding as it was for my thoracic spine surgery. I included a picture of the surgical site the day after my surgery. A life changing surgery through such a small opening. I did feel like I wanted an opportunity to review my cervical MRI results and get a better understanding of why surgery was indicated and so I made an appointment with Dr. Lopez and had this discussion,-and decided to move forward with the surgery. I found him very helpful and accessible.

I walked into a warm and professional environment with a extremely knowledgeable doctor. She helped me figure out what was wrong and came up with a care plan to get me on the mend. The care I received was great. She was professional, with a light, comfortable manner, and she explained what and why she was doing things (which I appreciate!). I'll definitely be back for further treatment, now and down the road for other health issues.

This is a two-part review to result in a three-star rating…read more Doctor (5 Stars) ================ Dr. Jonathan Meek is a great doctor who takes the time to answer patients' questions or address their concerns. He doesn't come off as one of those money-hungry doctors. He's also the only doctor I've seen to carry around a laptop to keep track of all the patients' information. Billing (1 Star): ================ I've had a few billing issues with Fairview Family Practice before and one today. I usually prepay my copay with a credit card at the time of my visit to avoid messy billing issues. Twice, I've paid a $20 copay but still received a $20 copay invoice about a month after my date of service. When I spoke to the receptionist about those invoices, I would find out that my payment was not applied to my account like it should have and was just sitting in their system! They had to manually apply my payment to my account. Today's billing issue really takes the cake though. I paid a $20 copay on the same day of a prior visit and found out later that my copay should have only been $13 to this facility and $7 to a lab based on my insurance claim statements (I don't get insurance claim statements until weeks after my date of service). I called and spoke to a receptionist named Ashley to get a $7 refund so that I can send the payment to the lab. She was incredibly rude and refused to give me a refund even though I told her: --- My insurance claim statement clearly states "Your Copayment Amount $13.00." --- I spoke to an insurance representative, who checked with someone else internally on my claim, and CONFIRMED that my copay is $13. You know when you're on the phone with someone, and you can feel that he or she is rolling his or her eyes at you? There was a pause in the middle of the conversation, and my eyes were squinting from suspicion. Next thing I knew, she handed the call to some other person without telling me (I think Linda? I forget her name because I was so upset at that point). Linda was the exact same way and repeated the exact same thing as Ashley. In the end when we were getting nowhere, Ashley gave me the phone number to their billing department to deal with the issue. I found out after several phone call attempts that she gave me the WRONG phone number. The one she gave me kept ringing without going to voicemail and eventually hung up on me. When I finally got the correct number, I spoke to Ann from their billing department. She was very nice and stated that she will process and mail my refund. She also agreed that Ashley and Linda should not have handled the matter the way they did and suggested that I just call the billing department directly in the future (of course, now I know). LONG STORY SHORT: - Use a credit card instead of cash or checks to make payments (in case you need to refer back or make disputes). - Call the billing department directly at 630-856-6840 instead of talking to the receptionists. - ALWAYS check your claim statements to make sure you pay the correct amount. Overall, I cannot recommend going to this office until they get their billing together.

I went to see him for injections due to problems with my leg etc. It did help a lot. But also I needed some meds. They did not agree with me, but I am taking over the counter meds now & am much better. He keeps in touch on a regular basis as well. He does not tell you he can't do anything for you anymore. He works with you & never pushes anything on you. I also have a cyst on my spine that does not have to get removed. He does not remove it. He had me get the MRI to find out what was causing my pain etc. He explains everything very well & it really shows so much care. He jokes around too which I love. I will go back for follow ups as I am much better than I used to be for sure. We need more caring doctors like him. The office is very pleasant too with the staff. Very clean & they decorate the place very nice for the holidays. They go all out.
