I spoke with him, too, and he came across to me as smart, competent, and very able to rent our house. This was mid-July of 2020. By December 31, his assistant, Laura, wrote us to say there wasn't interest in our house. We immediately called another property manager who genuinely couldn't understand why the house hadn't been rented. She had a signed rental contract 8 days later. Read that last sentence again. This is why I'm writing this review. During the almost 6 month period we had the house with SCPR, I received a few emails from Laura: The prospective renter wanted $ off the rent, or had some other ask. We always compromised with the request, but nothing ever happened. The house was furnished when we signed the contract with Chris. At the time he said that it added a challenge, but that they would get it done. At some point Laura indicated that, because the house was furnished, they were having a hard time finding renters. When the house was still unrented in November, my wife and I went up, packed up the furnishings and asked them to take new photos. Then came a couple more of the same asks: Would we take $ off the rent, etc., etc.? Nothing happened with the home. Then the "nobody's interested in your property" email. I'll leave it at this: Our experience was that our house sat empty for almost 6 months, immediately followed by the next property manager raising the asking rent by $200/month (from the asking price that SCPR set) and it was rented in 8 days! Two years ago, my husband started a job here in Sonoma County, and was sleeping on couches and in motels, desperately searching for something, while I was waiting back in L.A. with a toddler and a newborn. Jonathan Sr. showed him a place that would've been a bit too small, but let him know about another rental that would be available soon, and hadn't come on the market yet. It ended up being perfect for us, and living here has been wonderful, due in no small part to the wonderful care TASK has taken in attending to the little & big things that come up in a 75-year old home. Jonathan and his son, Jonathan Jr., are incredibly prompt with returning calls, and all the vendors they've sent to us have been friendly and effecient. Very, very highly recommended.

We were only in town for a few weeks so we needed to make a decision quickly but still feel confident that we were doing the right thing. We ultimately hired Laura from Northbay to watch over our house while we are away. She has held our hands through remodels, leaks, termites, drought fighting yard solutions etc. We are on our 3rd tenant (and 4th year? I think)...and the house looks as great as when it was first remodeled. Obviously Laura has helped ensure that we have great tenants as well as a fair rate. I can't give them 6 stars or else I would. We are 700 miles away and don't have to do much other than receive a check and answer a few questions once in awhile. If that's not great customer service, then I don't know what is :) Hire them! I am being taken advantage of by the Landlords at 6123 Montecito Blvd. They are super neglectful…read moreand not communicative. I had put in my move out date 30 days in advance and was trying my hardest to get ahold of them so we could schedule a pre inspection and inspection so that I could get back my full deposit. What they did next seems premeditated and planned. They ignored all of my calls and text messages until the very end. When we got our pre inspection done and we were informed that all we needed to do was clean the house. I paid for cleaners and apparently they didn't do a good job so I don't mind eating the fee for cleaning but now they are trying to charge me an extra 600 for things that were spoken about. The closet door wheel track never fit on there and they are trying to blame us for it. I asked for a third party inspector to come out and they said no that's okay we are only going to charge you for the cleaning fee and so I said okay. Now, again, 600 dollars is being robbed from a small family of three that had to move for financial reasons in the first place. I always paid my rent and was always communicative when they needed things from us. I DO NOT recommend going through this management company because now them and the landlords are dodging my calls.

She maintains outstanding supervision of the rentals and has superior skills at gaining cooperation from tenants. Her completion of paperwork is remarkable. I engaged Hills & Homes for a rental in San Rafael after they had been recommended by more than one…read moreperson. The property was listed with H&H for 2 1/2 months and no qualified tenants were found during that time. I terminated the agreement with them for a fee of $175 as I was losing significant income with the unit being vacant. Within two weeks of hiring a new property manager, it was rented. I don't feel H&H ran realistic comps (if they ran them at all) or they would have known the unit was overpriced. Maybe they aren't as familiar with Marin County as Sonoma County? Plus, communication with H&H was not consistent and I found I had to follow up with them weekly. They are definitely cheaper than other PM's but in my case, I got what I paid for.
