Air Care got back to me quickly and said they could come by on Monday between 9-11. There was one company that replied over the weekend but they had no reviews, so I didn't engage with them. Come Monday, Air Care was a no show, no call by 11:30. I called them and talked to Josh. He apologized and said their system didn't let them know I had an appointment. I knew I was texting with AI up to that point, so I accepted his apology. He told me they would have someone out between noon and 2. The technician showed up 20 minutes later and had the bad capacitor replaced and the spring service done in 20 minutes. Air Care came through in the end and got out A/C working again. My wife and I appreciated that and would hire them again.

I cannot recommend Brandy with HVAC Doctor enough…read more After being told by another company that I needed a full HVAC system replacement costing up to $25,000, I decided to get a second opinion -- and I am so glad I did. Brandy came out, same day, 7:30pm, took her time, and carefully evaluated everything. She initially suspected a pressure switch or possibly a motor issue and even went to get parts. But instead of just replacing things unnecessarily, she kept thinking through the problem, came back, and found the actual issue -- a clogged tube with debris. She fixed it on the spot. No unnecessary parts, no upselling, just honest, thoughtful troubleshooting. Total cost: $275 ($225 cash). She saved me tens of thousands of dollars and a lot of stress. It is rare to find someone this knowledgeable, ethical, and dedicated to doing the right thing for the customer. If you need HVAC help, call her first. I will never use anyone else.

While it looks like they offer Request-a-Quote (score!) I ended up just calling them as I was out and about. They gave me a two hour window the very next day, then called before they showed up. The tech was the definition of efficient. Friendly enough, not much chit chat, just more or less there to look into things and get the job done. My only slight issue was just a few things that were lost in translation -- they had the address wrong, were not close on spelling my name right, and then the price. They told me they could fix the issue for $135 which I agreed to, then was a bit surprised when the bill was for $209 as the final bill included the parts & labor. No biggie and a very fair price for the tune up and replacement, just would've been nice to know the actual total. The total price did match up with my expectations, so no biggie, just worth noting as I feel like maybe they could automate their bookings/billing just a tad better. TL:DR; I appreciate how fast they were, how they diagnosed and fixed it, and the price point. I'd call them again if the need arises.

Be very cautious with Mission Plumbing, Heating and Cooling…read more My neighbor recently had Mission out for a service call; the problem was with the control board in the air handling unit. The tech had to leave to get a board, but was back within a half-hour and spent a little over two hours total, including the time to get a new board. The board was under warranty, so there was no cost for the board. He was charged $1,063.48, but given a 10% "over 65" discount, so total charge was $957.13, which works out to somewhere between, $320 and $479 an hour. The technician also said that he was lucky that the board was under warranty, otherwise it would have cost and additional $1,000 for the board (this was also verified by the service manager at Mission). We got the model number of the board, searched for it on the Internet, and found it on the manufacturer's website (Goodman) for less than $100. We contacted Mission to discuss with the general manager twice; he never returned our calls. We then visited Mission in person to visit with him, but he "was in a meeting", so we were directed to Gabe, who confirmed the charges above. When asked about the pricing for the board, we were told that it is not generated locally, but by Southern. Mission was purchased in April 2021 by Southern Home Services of Maitland, Florida, which owns 26 PHVAC companies primarily along the southeast coast of the United States. Southern is, in turn, owned by Gryphon Investors, a private equity company. So not only does Mission need to cover their overhead locally, they most likely need to also provide funding for Southern, who in turn possibly has to return cash to Gryphon. It all flows uphill. Southern also owns C. M. Mose, another local PHVAC contractor in the Kansas City area. Moral of the story: Mission may have been a good company at one time when it was locally owned, but it has changed. Get pricing up front. Question the technician. If you don't like what you're hearing, go somewhere else, and don't hesitate to go with a mom and pop; quite possibly they can do the job just as well for quite a bit less money. They don't have the overhead that the big guys do (especially if owned by private equity).

I paid for a maintenance agreement, and they came out twice for the yearly heating inspection. I told the scheduler that all I needed was the spring air conditioner tune-up. She said that she would put a note on the file. The tech arrived and said it was too early for the air conditioner tune-up. They used both maintenance visits for heating, and then they had to call me in the fall to remind me it was time to renew my maintenance agreement. I sent them a letter about what happened, and they elected not to address my concern. They overcharge for services and consistently don't show up on time. I am through with this phenomenally horrible customer service.

Had a major water leak yesterday and come find out the hose from the garbage disposal came off…read morewhich allowed water to run to the basement. Timothy and Scott arrived on time as scheduled and fully explained the incorrect method the garbage disposal was installed which is no surprise. Been in this house 9 months and the previous owner did everything DIY. The drain from the sink to the basement was not correct after due to an oversize sink being installed and properly aligned(previous owner). Tim and Scott installed a new drain, repositioned the garbage disposal and new pvc, tubing, etc. They were very professional, personable and explained everything in layman's terms. Very fair pricing. Highly recommend Anthony's.
