James at Allbright Window Cleaners in South San Francisco came out to our house in Foster City after we had our new windows installed. He was punctual, professional and very thorough. He made sure not to scuff the walls with his ladder, or damage the landscaping. We had all sorts of stickers and glue from the new window install - it's all gone and sparkling clean now! Our home is brighter too! I barely knew he was there while working, and he was gone before I knew it! Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. That's what my window now do... Thanks yelpers! I swear... I love this site. I use it for everything... and then the other day when my windows where looking nast... I thought to myself... hmmm... let's try the ole yelp. Life is too short for me to go on my roof like a monkey and try to clean my windows... and it would probably take me all day... James came in and within 2 hours all of my windows were done and he was on his way. We are going to do a quarterly plan so I never have to worry about it getting to the point of it being gross before I have to try to book another appointment. (and I save money that way too!) I was truly impressed with the level of service I received from James. I had a gnat problem that was directly related to the dirt and fungus on two skyroofs. I was panicking because it was a really bad problem and I didn't know what to do. James came over that SAME day and cleaned the windows and the gnat problem went away. I really appreciated that. He even explained to me why the gnat problem occurred, so now I know I have to call the handyman to fix it. Thanks James! The windows were super bright and clean after he cleaned the windows for 3 whole hours. I thought it was going to be done in 2 hours or so, but he definitely put in time on the windows to make it super clean. I was very satisfied with the level of service I received from James. Hubs usually uses the handy-dandy Scunci steamer on the windows, but hadn't gotten around to it in a while and it was getting hard to see outside. When we finally turned to Yelp to direct us to a good window cleaner, once again, we were not let down. James was great. He was upfront and clear about what he does (inside & outside, cleans screens but not sills/tracks) and stuck true to his word. For our typical Sunset District row house - windows in the living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, plus two downstairs windows - we paid $175. He was done in about 3 hours, and even gave the huge mirror in our living room a cleaning. Now, about a month later (yeah, yeah, I'm a slow reviewer. But hey, I'm pregnant with twins. Sue me.) the windows still look great! It rained a couple of days after the cleaning - yep, good ole Murphy's Law - but whatever James used on the windows seemed to have made the raindrops slide away and leave no spots. Technically wanted to give 4-1/2 stars but couldn't figure out how to do the half star. Didn't give a full five *only* because there were some wet spots on the carpets next to the windows afterwards. No biggie - it dried pretty quickly with no stains or odors. (Plus, I'm currently hungry. Hungry=crabby.) read more

James and his helper showed up early/on time. They didn't have footsie covers with them but were very respectful about taking shoes off when I asked. The windows were cleaned nicely and the panels were also cleaned out as well. They did not leave a mess and so I was really impressed! I contacted this company after being stood up by another for an estimate. The owner was very understanding about my need to expedite the process and scheduled my estimate. Knowing this, he even offered to do the estimate and cleaning at the same time. He was rather charming on the phone and I felt I was in good hands. And then they never showed up. I could have forgiven this with an apology, and while disappointed, was prepared to give them another chance. Yet, while he was very easy to get in touch with before (a reason I chose them initially...picking up my call on first ring and answering to me by my name) my 5 subsequent phone calls after the missed appointment (that afternoon and for 4 days after) went unanswered. Things happen, and I can be very understanding. But to avoid all contact after the mistake was made is cowardly. read more

What a disappointment! James had cleaned our windows in May 2008. He charged us $200 for inside and outside. So, we asked him back to touch up our outside windows 4 months later. I left him a message 2 days prior to his scheduled arrival to quote me a price. He never called back. On the day of, he showed up and quoted me $150, but I offered $100 and he said "no problem." But, 15 minutes into the job, he called me to say he couldn't do it after all because he "had another job to do" and "I only offered him $100!"- his tone was irritated. Completely unprofessional and unreliable. For your information James, established businesses have their rates in writing and up front and the do not change their minds minutes into the job. Grow up. And oh yes- he prefers cash- for tax purposes, you know. read more
