Unprofessional, argumentative and VERY surly. I almost gave up scheduling with IWC a couple of times before because of her. This time we had a complete break down in communication. She's really awful at her job. You can easily spend 10 min on the phone with her without her scheduling anything and only describing the things she can't do. This time she must've been in a particularly sour mood. We didn't manage to schedule a window cleaning after 8 min on the phone, ending up with her hanging up on me!!! OMG. I agree with Prem M: Corey (the person who answers the phone) is the worst. On the other hand the service isn't much better. I waited 2 1/2 months to get an appointment (which I was only willing to do because of their positive reviews on Nextdoor). Then the week before my appointment Ryan emailed and wanted to reschedule from 10:30 am to 8 am. I agreed because that was better for me than wasting a whole morning. Unfortunately they arrived 40 minutes late, supposedly because Ryan got injured loading the van. No phone calls, no texts: I was just left hanging. I can't speak to their ability to clean windows but in every other respect their service is terrible. read more

I am not an expert in cleaning industry but these dudes are very cool. They just spent 4 hrs hanging up high in dangerous positions at about 20 feet, kept exceptionally nice feel to their service and offered incredibly good deal and now that I'm looking at our windows, I'm thinking why we didn't do this earlier. Twice a year my sister and I do a deep cleaning on my moms house in SF. Everything from the carpets, garden gets a much needed scrubbing! Ryan is very professional at what he does and wow you can't beat the price! He also wasn't bothered that I had a carpet cleaner and maid service over at the same time. i contacted intelligent window cleaning (iwc) this august after reading their reviews on yelp. as part of the condo's hoa, i was charged to get bids on window washing for our 2 story, 16 unit building. ryan came out to inspect the building and number of windows. during that visit, he physically counted each and every window, skylight, piece of glass (280 total) and determined access, asked questions about notifying the neighboring building so they wouldn't alarmed when the cleaning took place. my first impression was that ryan takes his work seriously and with pride. he also a super nice guy. I got a written estimate and certificate of insurance emailed the next day from anna. we scheduled the work for 2 months out. initially, that seemed like a long time but that also indicated that they get work. fast forward to october. ryan and his crew came out as scheduled and on time and they got right to work. the crew was well coordinated, organized and professional. some of the residents had their interior windows cleaned and the crew wore booties upon entering the apartments. i'm glad i chose iwc for this job. they seem to really care about their work and keeping their clients happy. we will use them again and won't hesitate to recommend them. read more

They cleaned all the panes of our 2 story condo in a couple of hours and the difference from before was amazing. I really didn't realize how dirty windows can be until they were this clean. I knew my windows were dirty, but holy cow now that I see them sparkly clean I realize how dirty they were. Ah...(insert chorus of angels singing) my world has been changed for the better. Arranging the visit was super easy and Ryan and team were great communicators. On site, the team was polite and respectful of my house...wearing booties when they came into my house and being concerned that they not leave my garage door open as they were coming and going. They inspected their work at the end and walked through with me. And, they're hunky...not that it matters, but it was a nice perk. This was the best $210 I've spent all year. This is one of those reviews that I write with some trepidation-- similar to how I've felt when I've reviewed other outstanding businesses. Ryan is so good that I'm afraid that by sharing this review, I will struggle like hell to ever get on his calendar again because he'll be booked through eternity. But the reality is that over the past two days, Ryan power-washed my house and hardscape and cleaned all my windows TO PERFECTION. Seriously. The house is gleaming. And he honored his original price, despite that the work required more hours than he'd estimated. I've paid the same for other companies (Crystal Clear Window, now defunct) to do this work. They bent screens. Half-assed the cleaning. And left finger prints on my walls. Ryan way, way over-delivered. In my experience, it's already hard to get on Ryan's calendar because he's a small operation and books up well in advance. But even if booking him gets even harder, good (great) things are worth waiting for. read more

I agree with Michael M, "surly and argumentative" are the words of the day. I had this firm clean my windows about 6 months ago, and although they did a good job cleaning the windows, the experience was so unpleasant, I cannot in good conscience have them back in my home. The cleaners were late, bothered my neighbors, complained to and accused me, and finally locked me out of my home. Owner Ryan, who seemed completely professional during his visit for a quote, quickly became unprofessional and unapologetic when his workers woke my confused neighbors up at 8am by knocking on their door, missed my 30 minute time frame to let them in - making me late to get my children to school (all the while insisting that showing up at my neighbors door without calling me constituted an "on time" arrival at my job); the workers then called Ryan in front of me saying it was a real "bummer being bitched at coming to work" (I simply explained that waking up my neighbor and not calling if they were going to be late created a problem for me...lots of "surly" and "argumentative" comments ensued as they began their work). Finally, I had asked that the workers just shut the front door when they leave, and to not lock any of the locks (one of them is antique and sticks, requiring our building super to open)...you guessed it: upon arriving home, I found myself locked out of my apartment. I don't care how clean my windows ended up - I would never invite this experience back in. It's time to clean my windows again, and I'm not calling these guys. read more

I needed my building windows washed (5 story, 12 units). I had found Intelligent Window Cleaning's flyer in the mail, so I decided to give them a call. The two owners came for the inspection/estimate and ensured me they'd do all they could to become our windows cleaners. I liked the fact that they were a small local business, owner operated (as in: the owners are the same guys that put on the harness and climb down the walls). Their first estimate came in at about double the other bids, but I let them know and they came back with a more competitive bid. The paperwork was definitely a challenge, but I thought they more than compensated on attitude and energy, so I said OK. We scheduled a date. The day before the agreed upon date, they sent me an email saying that unfortunately they had not received some equipment that they were hoping to get and had to reschedule to a TBD date. They again ensured me that they REALLY wanted to be our windows washers; I told them that I had no choice buy look elsewhere, but that they should let me know when they were ready and that I may still need the service. Several weeks have gone by and I haven't heard since. I like the owners, and they may be OK for very small jobs, but they wasted my time and I can't give them more than 2 stars. read more

Great job on the windows; so-so job on the window sills. You have to clean up the drippy water mess after they leave. They don't do window sills; you have to wipe that dirty out yourself. :( I still use them because they are friendly and courteous and genuinely try to do a good job. read more

If I could give more stars, I would. My landlord informed me this week that I needed to clean the outside of my windows as part of my move-out. WTF?!?! After calling a dozen places that were either booked, had a high minimum number of windows and/or were outrageously expensive, I reached these guys. These guys are awesome. They came to our office yesterday for a second round of cleaning (we work above a spice factory so things get dirty pretty fast). These guys are efficient and do a great job. Also they were super courteous working in an office environment. They draped all surfaces with drop cloths to make sure nothing got wet and cleaned up any rogue drips. They cleaned both our second story outside windows and inside windows in under 45 minutes. You really don't know how dirty your windows are until they are clean...and wow were ours dirty!
