I hired Inter Movers LLC company to transport my household belongings from New York to Europe. They quoted me for 3 cubic meters and after collecting my belongings claimed the volume is double at 6 cubic meters. They refused me the opportunity to check since everything was already loaded. Upon arrival in Europe, I received my belongings which are precisely 3 cubic meters; I have photographic evidence, all European documentation including custom clearance confirming the volume was 3 and NOT 6 cubic meters. I have since contacted InterMovers LLC, who are refusing to take responsibility for the discrepancy or provide a refund. I have all the paperwork as well as photographic evidence. This is a company that will scam you, there are many negative reviews online with very similar experiences to mine. Avoid at any cost, you will end up paying double like me. read more

I wouldn't wish our experience with Inter Movers LLC on anyone. From start to finish, it was a nightmare. The movers (3 men, one of them named Igor who was the worst one) were shockingly unprofessional, they smoked inside our home, broke several of our belongings on purpose which the security cameras caught and forced us to help them under threats. Worse, they shouted at us, intimidated us and a few times, their aggression felt like it might escalate into physical violence. They genuinely scared us in our own home. What should have been a straightforward move stretched into an agonizing ordeal that took far too long, left most of our belongings damaged and cost an absurd amount of money. Bad experience with Inter-Movers. 1. Lots of Hidden Fees: Inter-Movers left me feeling blindsided by the multitude of hidden fees. After they had already collected my belongings, they sprung unexpected charges on me that were not disclosed beforehand. The situation left me in a predicament with no option to decline these extra costs since they had possession of all my items. 2. Poor Communication: One of the most frustrating aspects of my interaction with Inter-Movers was their dismal communication. I had to repeatedly follow up with them to get any information on the status of my shipment. They failed to inform me about the estimated delivery date unless I proactively inquired. Moreover, they made unilateral changes to my shipping date without notifying me, and there were no updates provided throughout the shipping process. It felt like being trapped in a communication void, forcing me to take charge of the process and continually reach out for updates. 3. Unreasonable Delays: The lengthy delay in receiving my goods, stretching from May to September, was exasperating. (When it delays you won't know. You need to proactively contact them to request updates) My experience with Inter-Movers was very bad. The pick up experience was positive and was done quickly and was smooth sailing getting through customs and getting my things. I moved from NYC to Vancouver. Don't use inter-movers. They have hidden charges that you only find out about when preparing to pick up items. I shipped a few small items after the death of both my parents and then found out that on top of the high fees already paid, I had to pay extra they had not warned me about if I wanted to collect my items. They were very misleading in their wording claiming door-to-door service which was not true. Their communication was also woefully inadequate. My shipment kept getting delayed and they never contacted me. I always had to contact them and then they would just send me a new date and little else. This happened several times. read more

Like everyone else, I read the positive reviews online. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. Please do read if you want to save yourself some trouble. Of course, when one is shopping around for international movers, they promise you all kinds of things, including Michael S. However, once you sign a contract and pay a deposit, things change quite a bit. First of all, the people sent over dressed and acted extremely unprofessionally. Their behavior was rude; for example, lying and manipulating by trying to get more money out of us and when we pointed out to the agreed amount, they became downright offensive. Second, we had agreed with Michael S. [who can be quite obnoxious underneath his "polite" demeanor] for a date range to receive our goods. We had a family member with a serious illness who was in the hospital and that we needed to attend to; hence, the agreed-upon date range to receive the goods. Third, well, it turns out -- it is really about what Inter-Movers want rather than what the customer needs. They wanted to deliver a week earlier, when we were supposed to be in the hospital. Then they threatened to hold on to our precious belongings unless we agreed to their conditions. We pleaded and pointed out our previous agreement but to no avail. Michael S. -- "Mr. Polite" previously -- now started talking with threatening overtones. We had no choice, but to rush from the hospital in another town back home. Our flight was 2 hours late, so guess what the movers did -- unloaded all our belongings into the sidewalk and lobby because they had to rush to another job! All this cost us thousands of dollars, but we had no recourse because they had all our precious belongings! To this day, we have not received an apology, let alone any sort of compensation for the extreme disturbance it caused in our lives, including having suddenly rush back on an earlier flight and having to pay extra. My advice: Please avoid them, and if you do decide to go ahead with them, do your due diligence. read more

The way these people operate is to make a low initial "full service" offer and keep presenting the customer with additional charges along the way. Unless you are a very experienced mover, you would not be able to foresee these extra charges. In my case, the cost grew by about $3000 and they tried to charge me another $1000 but that was so obviously against their explicit obligations that they dropped this last extra charge. I was quoted the cheapest price and was able to bring everything (ended up saving hundreds not having to rebuy household items, kitchenware, products etc.) with zero hidden fees. Specifically, Inter Movers made sure I prepared all the proper customs paperwork, detailing the logistics and answered all my questions promptly. Michael Stein and the crew were all very professional and polite. I packed my 15 or so bins (better that owners to so for customs clearance) and the few furniture items I need wrapped were packaged and taped up then loaded onto the truck within 20 minutes! I used Inter Movers LLC to move a few boxes from the US to Europe. I would like to warn anyone moving to Europe that, upon arrival in Europe, your container will be handled by another company called World Freight Relocations (based in the Netherlands). This company has a terrible reputation. A quick look on the internet will give you an idea of how bad they are: on 6 comments on Google, 5 of them give 1 out of 5 stars and only one gives them 5 stars (and this one really sounds like a fake comment). My own experience with the company Inter Movers LLC deals with in Europe was pretty bad too: my containers were supposed to arrive at the end of September but they arrived at the beginning of November! The Dutch company kept them for one month in their facilities in the Netherlands and it is unclear why it took them so long to do the shipment. To make things worse, I had to pay an extra fee of about 150 euros to get an X-ray inspection at the customs. They said that my container was randomly selected for inspection. The company never accepted to give me proof that there actually was an inspection. I may well have paid these 150 euros for nothing. However,I had no other option to get my boxes delivered. I felt like I was blackmailed. Finally, this company was unable to deliver the container on the day they themselves scheduled. My container was supposed to arrive on a Saturday and it arrived on a Sunday. When I received my boxes, I noticed that one of them was wet: it was probably left outside when it rained. Throughout the process, I tried to reach the Dutch company and it was not an easy task. They did not answer emails in a timely fashion and, when they eventually did answer, the answer was not easy to understand (some parts were actually written in Dutch). If you have to move stuff to Europe, either do not use Inter Movers LLC or ask them not to let World Freight Relocations handle things in Europe! read more

The owner, Michael, takes time to answer all the questions you have and is very responsive, by Email or phone. You can adjust your quotes and even send images to verify the amount of cubic feet you want to ship. Not such a great experience! While the picking up of my goods in New Jersey went very smoothly, information I should have had beforehand was sorely lacking. Moving my goods to Chile, and 4 weeks after my goods were picked up and in transit, I find out I need an itemized listing of the goods for customs. Why I was not given this requirement before packing up, I do not know. Would have been a lot easier than trying to remember everything. Final paperwork at the Chile end of the deal, also not given in a timely manner. Lots of statements about my belongings and such, needing to be notarized, given to me a few days before the shipment arrived and then a big rush. Additionally, while port charges at the destination are clearly stated to be not included, When asked for the equivalent of about 1/2 the total price for the shipment for the port charges, one has to ask, WTF? Not like you can change your mind at that point. This should have been handled better so I could have a better idea of the overall process and the total cost. read more

A nightmare experience, I regret I gave them the ok-to-ahead since day 1. I moved houses several times between the US and Spain and I didn't pay much attention on picking the best moving company since this time it was a small one, a consolidated one. They lied on the original quote they gave me, when the stuff arrived at Spain they changed the price, the communication was via email and they always responded with yes/no/no details kind of responses. They also delivered more than a month after the original committed date. And finally, one office desk and one table was completely broken, of course they never paid and their excuse was that I didn't buy insurance (which they never offered as an option). The price for the move wasn't as expensive as some of the other companies would charge. The man I communicated with over the phone was cordial, friendly, and punctual and they had some men out there within the next several days. Michael and his team were amazing in New York City. They were communicative and professional. They took all my belongings and got them ready to ship from New York to Perth, Australia. Based off Michael's transit timeline of six to seven weeks (my belongings apparently left in mid March, however requested documents have not been supplied) I took an apartment in Australia. I was contacted by the shipping company that was going to handle the delivery this end and told expect the arrival of May 1st, a little behind schedule. No problem. May 1st arrived, no one had contacted me, so I called the company. "Your stuff is still in Hong Kong, we think." Waited, waited and waited. And still I wait. Three and a half months later. Having had to take a furnished apartment while waiting for my furniture to be delivered and paying rent on the unfurnished apartment. Michael's response when he finally responded to my multiple emails, "it's like blaming your travel agent for a plane being late." Let me be clear. the shipment didn't arrive into Australia until 12 weeks after the quoted transit time. This wasn't a delay. He said he would try and contact the shipping line and see what they could do but none of it was his fault as he did his part of the job. As yet I still have not been provided with any response from the shipping company he was going to contact. Here's the thing - I paid Inter Movers. I didn't pay anyone else nor did I know the name of any shipping company other than them. Apparently once they hand it over, it's no longer their problem, according to them. And I was handed over to a company with appalling reviews and a one star rating in Australia. I have not been reimbursed any money, I paid five thousand dollars for the service which still has not happened. I have not been given an update. I have had to call the shipping company here to see when it's going to be delivered and they do not call back. I do all the chasing. If nothing else, learn from me. Request information on who is handling the shipping on the destination end. Ask in writing what happens if the transit time is double what is quoted. Continuously ask for updates for where your goods are. ALL of this could have been avoided had there been communication along the way. I was never contacted by Inter-Movers or Hellas Europe to let me know that the goods were not only not in the destination, they were in Hong Kong. And the subsequent emails which amount to, "too bad, not my problem, nothing I can do," have only made a bad situation much worse. It's an amazing business to be in, no risk or responsibility and you keep all the money, the only risk is with the person shipping the goods. It's been a phenomenally stressful and extremely expensive process. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone and I chose them based off their reviews and their initial outstanding service in New York. I will update the review if my goods are ever delivered. Update, after posting this review, I received an email from Michael thirty minutes later saying Prue, you are giving us a 1 star review after all I am trying to do for you? Are you kidding me? I might as we just stop doing everything to help you and let you handle everything by yourself from here on. So there you go, no documents provided, no goods and no updates. And now I have been threatened with not completing a service that has been fully paid for and no shipping documents provided. A despicable and inexcusable service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Again, I will update if the goods are ever delivered. Update: Good were delivered yesterday. Box smashed, leg missing off the bed and the sideboard gouged. In addition to another $1500 dollars that Michael never mentioned for port and quarantine fees. This is the WORST business I have ever dealt with in my life. read more

Buyer Beware! I was quoted the cheapest price of any moving company by inter movers LLC on a '100 sq ft' container, but their prices scale much faster than any of their competitors if you need more space (to give you a sense 500 sq ft was over $5K). That is roughly a third of a 26 ft moving truck so really not very big. Although I sent in an inventory of items they said I only needed 400 sq ft and they were way off! I had to leave behind couch, ping pong table, dresser, writing desk, crib and a number of other odds and ends that were all listed in the estimate just to get it to 500 sq ft - baited me with a lower price that was well under scoped and you will not know until moving day comes! I also made very clear that I would need packing / repacking services in the quote in multiple emails only to have this added on top day of the move when it was too late to negotiate (at $25 per box!). So again, beware when they say 1K (my initial quote) because the final bill will come due and can many times higher! read more

My experience with this company couldn't be worse and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I am actually surprised of all positive reviews they have and wonder if this was just my personal experience. I could extend this review indefinitely with all the details. I will summarize it saying that, from my point of view, they are very unprofessional, changing conditions, pick-up date with less than 24 h notice, and very rude e-mail communications with the manager, Michael. Apart from that, my main complain is that they offered me a very cheap quote, around $400 cheaper (in a total of $1495) than all the other quotes I got, and then they artificially increased to $1823 + $86.12 port fees that they were supposed to be included. I was able to eliminate the port fees incorrectly charged but not the $1823. Basically, my quote was for 100 cubic feet. I measured my boxes and were under 90 and they said with the pallets and because odd shape boxes, the final measurements were 122 cubic feet. I did not have any way of double-checking that (already out of the country for an international moving), so I paid the total amount. Since this was an international moving, they hired a second company in Europe and my surprise is that when they deliver my goods, the invoice they gave me was for 107 cubic feet. After claiming for an excess of, at least, 122-107= 15 cubic feet, equal to 224.25$, the manager offered me $75 in compensation and in good faith. I refused and started an official complain with FMCSA. I hope if somebody experience similar issues with this company, they file an official complain to stop this type of practices. read more

Relocating to UK from NJ. Company lost one of our boxes before it even left the country and refused to do anything about it. Coincidentally, it was one of 2 boxes which we labeled as containing anything of value and was one of the largest boxes we moved. When we were looking into what happened, there was apparently no evidence the box had even been loaded with everything else in the first place. They "looked into it" (see: delayed) for months without actually doing anything and we had to do the research into what happened ourselves.
