Sometimes there are deals to stay at the InterContinental at the Wharf. If you find a deal, snag it for a more luxurious stay. My family and I stayed in their Knot Suite and it was perfect. It comes with a living area and two attached spacious rooms with balconies overlooking the Washington Channel and the Tidal Basin. The lobby space is peaceful and comes with fancy looking games like checkers that our seven-year-old enjoyed while waiting for our room to be ready. Also in the lobby was a hot cider bar for guests. The suite itself was designed well and with all the amenities you could want, including plenty of closet space, TVs, robes, and even a dental kit. The showers have good water pressure. The hotel itself has a rooftop pool with a beautiful view of the Washington Monument, a gym with plenty of equipment, and a spa. For parking, there's valet or street parking. read more

I stayed here for work but I assume it's about 400 or more a night. Lots of options to walk and eat at restaurants. If you walk about a mile away, you can see the Jefferson Memorial and see the Washington Monument. The hotel did an impeccable job for our company and the food was great. The gym was really nice to visit around 9 pm. No one was there and I had the time on my own. read more

Check in was rough, but they gave us a voucher. The room was amazing and the view was incredible! The rooftop was beautiful too - but the bar closed early, that was annoying (we got there at 7:30 and it said it closed at 8, but they said it was too late to order - you order via phone). So, the service could be better but the place was AMAZING! The only other problem was there's a club (12 stories) connected and we stayed on the 11th floor of the hotel and it was so hard to go to sleep...that was a pretty big issue. Can't give it 5 stars for that alone (and the service needs improvement), but that VIEWWWW! read more

I chose to stay at the InterContinental because I had points and love a wharf, but I would return for sure. It's a beautiful hotel, staff were friendly, good location and the rooftop pool was amazing to watch the sunset! Celebrated our milestone Anniversary last weekend with dinner at a Michelin rated restaurant and in our mind the 5 star Michelin Intercontinental Hotel located in the Wharf in DC. We have had the pleasure of staying previously and under GM Chris Lee and his staff including Ian Young, Safa, Nazar, the front desk, pretty much everyone including housekeeping who were all terrific, we had an awesome in spite of the rain during the time we stayed. As both Diamond Ambassadors, we were treated royally for our special occasion and the upgrade and welcome amenities were just unexpected, generous and made our stay so special. Located right in between 2 piers, easy parking, a wharf full of activities including restaurants, the Anthem, its lively and great location for staycation. We made time to go up to the rooftop this time and enjoyed the view and of course it's where the pool is located. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet for Diamond members. It has everything for everyone. We left early Saturday after thanking everyone including management, parking , bell staff and security for a memorable stay. GM Lee you continue to Rock!!! read more

The newly renovated Wharf area provides easy access to an array of restaurants and shops that enhances the overall experience of your hotel stay. The hotel has elegant décor throughout and is very tastefully done. The rooms are spacious, exuding modern luxury and most have stunning views of the waterfront. The in room amenities, from plush bedding to Harney tea and plenty of conveniently located electrical outlets, ensures a comfortable stay. The check-in process was extremely slow but in fairness the hotel seemed understaffed and fully booked. Overall this hotel remains a top choice for me when staying in DC. read more

Stayed at this hotel for a few nights during our DC trip and really enjoyed it. Beautiful newly built hotel situated on the wharf overlooking picturesque river and yachts. A bunch of restaurants lined up on wharf from seafood grill to burger joint. It was quite a vibrant night life on a Saturday filled with lights, music and chatters. Beautiful clean room with comfortable beds, modern bathroom and luxurious amenities. Lavish and tastefully designed lobby. Wonderful breakfast, courteous and polite service. Pool was not good at all, small and shallow. There was a heavy wind that day when we were in, food got blown to the pool flowing on water. Staff were just standing there, didn't bother to take the initiative to clean up. If you don't mind swimming with Cesar salad, stay. We left. There's a daily amenity charge $40 to cover pool, gym etc. service, but the pool condition, maintenance and service are all poor. We had a very good time and would recommend this hotel, just don't use the pool. read more

This is a very beautiful hotel in a very nice location along the Wharf. The room was clean and comfortable, so there were no complaints there. However, the staff at this location are pretty rude. I felt like I was inconveniencing staff whenever I had a question or a request. It made our stay pretty uncomfortable. I don't think I'd stay here again, despite the nice accomodation. read more

Lovely hotel on the wharf and a great location. All of the staff were wonderful and so helpful. The room was perfect, with a nice view of the water. It also had both a shower and a separate bath tub! They sent up some fruit and water as an anniversary present, which was very sweet. The bed was comfortable and the minibar was well stocked. We also did room service breakfast and the food was expensive (as expected) but came quickly and everything was correct and delicious. Check-in was easy and smooth even though I made reservations through Priceline. I only live in Maryland, but coming here felt like a real vacation to celebrate a friends birthday party. I got an executive king room, and the size was FANTASTIC! I was there for one night and was surprised when I received a knock on the door at 9am from the cleaning crew asking if I wanted my room cleaned. I was sleep and did not appreciate being awaken way before checkout. I said no, but then later they came back at 11 am... they were right there knocking at the door. Room service was delicious but there was a mix up delivering a birthday surprise which ruined the moment a little but the front desk clerk fixed the problem right away. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone! It is also surrounded by great restaurants and local shops. And not far from the major sites of DC. A very pleasant overnight stay to see a concert round the bend, The Anthem. Check in was super efficient and accommodating. Alger(?) was very professional, informing us of the complimentary pre dinner drinks; he also gave us a room with a nice view of the wharf. Comfy beds and clean bathroom. Perfect for an afternoon nap after a 3.5 hour drive, to recharge just before I headed out for a show I've never seen before. They had a soft jazz singer in the lobby during dinner time, which I would have gladly enjoyed but I had to go meet my daughter and catch P1Harmony. Outside the hotel, there was a taco place that opened late at night called Surfside. A good alternative for room service. The hotel's breakfast offered excellent home fries and decent orange juice. There was also a coffee buffet that came in handy before our drive home the following day. The hotel is in the heart of the Wharf surrounded by so many restaurants. Parking was conveniently located just across the hotel entrance. The irony was we were in DC last Easter in another IHG hotel and we could have stayed here instead. read more

I was given a room with a view of the river and it did not disappoint! Customer service was great from check in to check out. I ordered room service which came fairly quickly given the high call volumes. Burger and fries on point for it being at the hotel. I stayed at InterContinental - The Wharf for business purposes and was extremely pleased at the upscale ambiance and professionalism of the staff. From the door men, concierge and front desk, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and well kept. You can tell the property is newer, as the entire hotel is very modern. The gym is fully equipped with new machines, to include Pelotons. The view is gorgeous while running on the treadmill or biking. I didn't have a the opportunity to eat on-site. However, there were many options with their restaurants. The hotel has so many great restaurants surround the property. The roof top pool is not very large. However, the view is beautiful. read more

My girlfriend booked a room for a weekend staycation here to celebrate my birthday. I've always been curious to stay here since you can get great views on the Wharf. Valet is pretty crazy at $58/night but you get in and out privileges so thats not terrible and you can order your car through your phone. Hotel lobby is pretty fancy in my opinion but I also don't go out enough so I don't know anything about fancy. All the hotel staff was super cordial towards us, even wished me a happy birthday. Since they knew the birthday thing, we even got a cupcake in the room as well. We got a King Size Riverview which just had one of the best hotel views I've seen in DC. Room isn't super huge but it's still pretty spacious. TV gives you the option to cast something from your phone. There was a panel that I believe controls all the lighting in the room. Bed, was a little stiffer than I am used to but it worked. In the bathroom, I was surprised to see both a standing shower and bathtub. Shower was ok, pressure could've been a little better. Robes were pretty solid on the hotel robe scale and they left us two so that was nice. Overall, its a pricey place but it makes sense based on the location. If you want to save money, maybe find alternative parking. The staff here is all very friendly/helpful, probably was the best part of our stay. It might've been my favorite hotel stay in DC so far and I might look to come back for another special occasion. read more

I wanted to plan a nice overnight stay in DC for my husband's birthday. Bitterly cold weather was in the forecast. The Intercontinental was a perfect choice. It is an elegantly appointed hotel, with all you need within a one block range, including restaurants and a CVS. We stopped at the desk when we arrived at 3 pm (official check-in is at 4:00), but the room was ready, so we were able to go upstairs and leave our bags. I had booked a king room, high floor, with a wharf view. We were given Rm 1105. It is on the side of the building, not directly overlooking the river, with what I would describe as a partial view. But it was very comfortable, and I think it is on the quieter side (not under the rooftop club). The room had both a nice rainforest shower and a separate tub. We had two cozy robes. The room package came with breakfast, which we enjoyed downstairs. The front desk and the bell staff were all very helpful and accommodating. read more

Had the pleasure of staying here for one night - the hotel itself and room is beautiful. My room and bathroom was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I love that the bathroom has a little sitting area to do make up. They upgraded me to the 11th floor as I was a IHG platinum member, and I loved the view from my hotel room! I did not get a chance to check out the rooftop pool, but did check out the fitness center (well-equipped) and restaurant, Moon Rabbit, for dinner. The wharf area is hopping and beautiful during the holidays. There's plenty of posh restaurants around and there was a cute place with a firepit that sells smores. The hotel is next to Recreational Pier which has swings and so fun to check out on a date, a group or just some solo contemplation. Would definitely love to stay here again if I'm in the DC area. read more

You're in walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We had a balcony with a wonderful view of the water and VA. The room was comfortable and clean. I came to the warf and got a view of their loading dock from my room. I got woken up by carts and trucks early in the morning as the hotel loaded up for the day. The roof in their restaurant leaked all over our table at dinner and all over me. No kidding. Plus my super special IHG Elite Gold status came with no benefits whatsoever. This hotel is simply put...amazing. I was in dc for Howard University's homecoming and we arrived really early to the hotel, well before the 4pm check-in time. The manager on site Dominic was able to get us checked in around 1pm and it was literally the nicest room for our first time there. We had breakfast at their on-site restaurant and it was really good. The room was cleaned to perfection and generally I'm a tough critic and go behind housekeeping. Not to mention the room's view was to die for. They gave out complimentary water and even helped me with printing some labels. This weekend was my time to shine. My gggf wanted to celebrate her birthday here and noticed an unusually great price so we locked in. This hotel was previously bookmarked on Yelp by me as well as the attached restaurant so I was ready ready. As soon as I entered property, I was greeted by kind staff. Registration members were kind. Beautiful open lobby and decor. Upon entering room I was impressed. Everything was as beautiful and perfect like I've always imagined. I was unable to gets pics of the room before my gf and I unpacked because we were on a tight time schedule so I did the best I could Yelp... forgive me !! Lol Anyhoo, spacious sleep space, huge bathroom and shower, plenty of sink counter room, bathrobes and disposable slippers provided. Fully stocked minibar, spacious drawers, refrigerator and safe provided. This place was clean clean !! My gf and I had a great time and were 100% pleased w accommodations!! Beautiful hotel in the Wharf! Friendly staff. We definitely felt welcomed everytim we ran into a staff member-front desk staff were so helpful, the doormen and the valet men were always so kind. When we arrived, the check in process was super easy. And while we arrived early, they still had out room ready for us which was so great! Our room was huge and the bed was so comfy. The closet was super spacious and had plenty of hangers as well as shelving. We had so much space to put all of our clothing which was so nice. The bathroom was really nice too and the shower was my favorite part of the room. The 2 shower heads were great-the water was so hot and the pressure was great. Honestly, that shower was spacious and had plenty of room for our stuff. There was a seating area near the window and we even had a nice desk area too. Oh, and there was also a Nespresso machine which we totally used because why not? Everything about this room was just so perfect. The best part about our stay is that we could not hear anything outside of our room! While I knew there were people in and our of the halls throughout the evening, I really did not hear much of anything. We attended a wedding here as well, the event space the 2nd floor was so pretty spacious for all guests to enjoy. Beautiful space. Friendly staff. Perfect location for a wedding. read more

First of all let me say that it was a comfortable room. A few things that we weren't happy with- the $60 per day parking fee and the $69 amenity fee. You will be charged this no matter if you drink or eat anything that is available in your room. My husband and I both understood from the desk clerk that this would be refunded if we didn't consume anything. We didn't even drink a coffee in the room because we didn't want to pay any more than we had to. Next time I'll inquire about all fees before even making a reservation anywhere. Definitely won't be staying at the Intercontinental in Washington, DC again. It cost us $890 for 2 nights. read more

Had a wonderful Quarantine night in the Anchor Suite. It's a wonderful room and was at a discount. The only complaint I would have is that you hear the room next door but thankfully we could drown it out with the Bose and a game of pool. The view is spectacular. The bed is comfy and the tub was relaxing It was what we needed to relieve the stress of our current situation Wonderful area.
