Used pieces that really complemented the spaces, properly sized furniture and art to make rooms look full without being so massive as to be overpowering, great color palette, providing an overall neutral feel while including some touches of color, and a generally great placement of furniture to make the units look and feel functional and lived in. My fiance and I had such a great experience purchasing our chaise sectional sofa here! We were looking for a specific brand and style so I looked for local distributors online and found Interior Illusions. I called in and spoke to Mike who was very friendly and helpful. He told us to come in and they were also having LWD sales! We walked into the store and was greeted by Mike (who we found out later to be the owner). Since we already knew what couch we wanted, Mike confirmed the model and quickly showed us all the swatches to choose a fabric. He was even able to text his brand rep when we had a question and quickly received an answer within minutes (on a weekend too!). We felt very lucky to have had Mike help us out since he isn't always on the floor helping customers. I went into this "showroom" about 3 months ago and I meant to write a review of my experience because it left me feeling really unwelcome, uncomfortable, and deeply disappointed in the industry I work in. I'm fairly new to Los Angeles, and my background is in Architecture and Interior Design. I have worked in both professions, helped operate many high end showrooms in my younger years (I'm 33), as well as being a rep and a buyer for some major furniture labels and brands here in Los Angeles and Chicago. Let's just say I'm schooled in the industry and it's standards. Now all of that being said, I prefer to support family owned and operated businesses, and I always will. The relationships built in these types of establishments is without parallel. I wondered into the showroom after window browsing for over a year during Covid, and was so excited to explore and finally have a potential "resource" in my new city. I walked in and wandered around for about 15 minutes and was never greeted but ignored by the polished muscle jock who seemed to be the only employee here. I was given a few dirty looks, and felt so uncomfortable. I decided to break the ice since he clearly wanted nothing to do with me or my business. I asked him about a light fixture that I knew was clearly a Bocci (or knock off) light fixture (I knew because I used to spec it all the time) it's also a brand that I introduced to the Chicago market via a showroom that I was a buyer for in college. When I asked about the Bocci fixture I simply said "oh wow, you guys carry Bocci here, such a great company" my comment was responded with "excuse me but we don't disclose our brands to anyone, ever" I said ummm wait what?! He repeated himself in a defensive tone as if I was trying to figure out what brands they carried for malicious purposes. I was thoroughly creeped out at this point but kept walking through the showroom.... And he was now following me through the showroom... not to offer me a bottle of water or to ask me if I was interested in purchasing or needed a tear sheet or a price.. no no. He just followed me around silently making me so unbelievably uncomfortable.. I then proceeded to check out their Gus Modern collection. I was thrilled to see Gus Modern because I used to be a BRAND REP for the company. I own several Gus pieces and really needed to ask about getting a piece I have by Gus reupholstered in the original fabric it came in. I wasn't sure if Gus had started selling their fabric by the yard... My question was replied to with such a demeaning tone that I had had it. Not only did this "sales person" offend me for the last time, but he couldn't even answer my very serious questions about getting services rendered through them. I'm sorry but this place not only has the tackiest, carnival cruise ship-like accessories and furnishings (picture chiseled David torsos, and oversized male hand hooks, black white and red upholstery with crystals bedazzling galore, and artwork that says CHANEL, LV, PRADA tacky) but their staff is actually horrible. I felt like I was being judged during Sunday brunch at a Weho watering hole. I'm sorry but when you have a store like that you promote and talk about the brands you carry.. unless they were carrying knock offs which wouldn't shock me, and to be honest I did some research and they do carry FAKE Bocci light fixtures! Ha! They have a small collection of refined, modern furniture and it's tucked away upstairs hidden. The rest of the place is resin weiner dog statues, and knock off Jeff Koons sculptures covered with crystals, and slapped with offensive price tags. This place doesn't need to have the attitude it carried, or the insane price tags either. I shop for clients at the PDC, and at showrooms like Knoll, and Mass Beverly and I have never gotten the despicable, and truly offensive attitude (with a nose in the air service) that this place provided. You know people remember how you make them feel, and retail used to be an experience.. I guess the experience now is so exclusive that they can't even tell you what brand your buying. It's supposed to be about educating people on brands, and introducing people to the brand. This place is doing it all wrong and to be frank I don't know how they are in business. If you want to have that attitude at least have the level of service and product to back it up. You lost a really great potential customer and I will never forget how unwelcome you made me feel. If you want to pretend to be high end you should at minimum, pretend to be nice to your customers. read more

How absolutely rude. I called on behalf of the business I work for and got some estimates on a shimmer screen. The man on the phone agreed to send some samples immediately, so I planned to pitch the idea to the company later that week. Only they never came. Nor did they come the following week. I called back, but the guy was in Vegas and no one could help me. And so emailed. And called again... This time the same guy promised to send them (and swore he had the first time), but this time he wanted my fed ex account number. Which I gave him. And it Never came. So instead of saying no and awarding me the opportunity to order the samples from somewhere else, I've been waiting for weeks for something that will never come, which makes me look bad to the company. There's just no accountability. What a disappointment. read more

This please is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED FOR CRAP. The Owner Michael was EXTREMELY rude and insulting. I have been a designer for years including designing up to 15k sq foot homes for Celebrities. I know prices and quality and all the furniture stores in town and their inventory. I asked him if this was actually the price, $7k for a basic cheap black leather couch (which looked like it was from the 80's ) and that usually they aren't that much and as I looked at another basic chair which was $2300 for 1 chair that was surely made in China I said "these seem a bit pricey" and he said condescendingly "yes but if you can't afford it You can shop elsewhere". I told him I've been designing homes for almost 18 years and he said "well I have for 30" in a super bitchy way. I felt like I needed to keep defending myself and said I also own 2 modern homes in the Hills, and he said "good I own 8. And also own this building!" I was shocked he was SO rude and frankly seemed like he was on a LOT of caffeine or SOMETHING. Extremely unprofessional and the place has a few ok things but mainly crap. You are better off shopping for Quality for LESS at places like HD BUTTERCUP, and RESTORATION HARDWARE! This place does not have original designs or the latest styles. It's all old stuff. BLUEPRINT or West Elm have better stuff and less than half the price! Even LA MART downtown has incredible stuff for MUCH less. This store looks nice on the outside, but the inside of it is horrible. Owners are a direct reflection on the quality here. read more

Love. Love. Love. interior illusions is one of (if not the most) visually striking showrooms I've been in. There is always something new and sexy to look at... most of the time I just come to get ideas, but the pieces I have bought I've been very satisfied with (a sofa, a credenza, a seriously gorgeous bed with a high tufted headboard, and a few accessories). Like all furniture stores, sometimes you have to wait a little longer to get exactly what you want (if it isn't in-stock) but in my experience, it's always been worth it. I've learned to ask a lot of questions there too... high-end Italian wasn't in my budget so they were able to find items for me that were in-budget (they aren't always on the showroom floor). Mike, the owner, will bend over backwards to find you the perfect fit for what you are dreaming of. I was in need of dining chairs & a bench & gave Mike a very short window of only 3 days for my Christmas dinner. I couldn't find the right chairs for my table. Mike's style is impeccable & he was able to suggest chairs that fit my style perfectly. In addition, he was able to quickly locate a bench that I envisioned in the right size. Such a chic store. I'm currently working on a design project in LA and was pleasantly surprised when I came across Interior Illusions. My partner and I found a few things online that caught our eye, so we stopped into the show room to check them out. The whole entire show room is gorgeous. I can honestly say I don't think they had a single piece that I didn't like. The shop has a very exclusive, boutique vibe which is fun, and the owner was also super sweet. I have to write a review on Yelp as I have never done so I feel compelled to do so to warn people NOT to purchase furniture at this store. I had spent months looking and purchased a very expensive leather couch. I was taken for a ride by the staff and ended up paying 8K for a couch of high quality leather (telling me I was saving 30% on the sale). However I was later made aware the same couch could have been purchased for 4500 max. I was also oversold pillows for a total of $1600 that were made incorrectly without the right stitching as promised and when I complained to the store, I was never even given a single credit for anything or even 1 returned call or email (after spending 14K total at the store). I feel they have very poor customer service. The place is overpriced and the staff treated me like a 2nd class citizen when I came back and complained not making any effort to make things right.
