After reading several positive reviews, my wife and I decided to give Interior Technique a try. We live in San Marcos, so their office was just a five minute drive from our home. We were really interested in using a smaller, local company, so we were pleased to use them. We installed both wood flooring and carpet. We loved the low pressure but informative process of selecting our flooring options. Mike, our primary contact was informative about all the materials we ordered. He made a special effort to get us the best price for our flooring. We were lucky to meet the owners, Dustin and Nick, as they were involved in the ordering and planning the installation. Amy, the office manager eagerly answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable every time we visited the office. Nate and Drew, our installers, were courteous and careful with our installation. They both took pride in their work and did their best not to disrupt our home life during the install. They cleaned up well after the installation was complete. Both Mike and Nate returned to correct a minor error with the installation of the wood floors. Pat and his crew were extremely efficient and careful with the installation of our carpet. They gave us suggestions on how to use some of our remnants and gave us a resource to finish some of our remnants so that we could use them as runners and bathmats. With having two kids and two (stinky) pets, we knew that it was finally time to get rid of our 15+ year old worn out carpet and replace it with a hardwood flooring of some type (vinyl, laminate, etc.). Since we wanted the flooring to also be installed on the stairs, it was important to me to have something that complimented the existing downstairs flooring (we have porcelain tile that looks like wood). We stopped by Interior Technique Flooring on a Friday afternoon and met with one of the owners, Dustin, in the showroom. The showroom has a ton of different brands, styles and types of flooring to choose from. We discussed our wish list with Dustin and we settled on either a waterproof laminate (who knew that even existed!?!) or a luxury vinyl plank. He was extremely patient with us and pulled out a LOT of samples to help to match our porcelain tile. Even though it was later in the day on a Friday, Dustin offered to come over to our house right away to take measurements. We ultimately decided on using a luxury vinyl plank, Provenza "Finally Mine". The quote was reasonable and included some water damage repair to the master bathroom. When the crew arrived to start the installation, it was obvious that they were very experienced and skilled. They showed up on time every morning and made sure they cleaned up before they left for the day. Everyone was polite and even offered my husband some advice on installing baseboards since we decided to replace them ourselves (although Interior Technique does offer this service). Dustin was always available to answer questions via phone or in person (and my husband asks a lot of questions!). The job took about a week to complete. We are extremely happy with the end result! The floors are gorgeous and they almost perfectly match the tile floor downstairs (see close up photo of the stairs meeting the tile). The customer service from day 1 was outstanding! Not sure where to start. Amazing, surreal experience. My wife and I were referred from one place to another and ended up here at interior technique flooring. We were not sure what to expect as we were looking for flooring for our home. We had never shopped for flooring and had way too many questions and uncertainties. We were greeted upon entering the store by Dustin. From that point on it was A+ service. The amount of patience and sincere will from Dustin to help us, left us with our jaws dropped. We feel so fortunate and sincerely I can say we "found trust in humanity once more". We used Interior Tech. for flooring in our house during our remodel due to a slab leak. -Dustin and Mike are hands down the best flooring salesmen that I have dealt with. They have a wealth of knowledge and show a genuine interest in flooring and their products. They definitely went the extra mile to see that we got the right flooring -We were allowed to take home large display flooring samples over an entire weekend so that we could chose the final floor to use. This was very helpful and not common with other flooring companies we looked at. -Their shop was very welcoming to our energetic children. This helped with alleviating some of the stresses associated with making design choices with your kids present. -Dustin reviewed our insurance adjustment and noticed that we should have gotten more money for our previous flooring. Big thanks! -Jaime and his crew were at our house and completed the flooring install in 3 days. Overall, this was a relatively easy process and went quite smoothly -There have been a couple of items that I have noticed post install and have brought these to the attention to Dustin. My sister and I have a nice condo in San Diego that we rent out. The carpet needed replacing, so for the past year or so, we have been shopping and researching the available types of wood floors. We went to several flooring places around San Diego, but we just couldn't find a company that we trusted, or that would give us a good deal. Then we were fortunate enough to find out about Interior Technique Remodelling in San Marcos. Dustin was extremely knowledgeable about all of the different styles and types of wood that were available, and we learned a lot from him. He had a great attitude, and he really wanted to help us. On top of that, he gave us a good price on an outstanding bamboo product! We honestly never had any doubt that we were going with Interior Technique Remodelling as soon as we had our first meeting with Dustin. The quote that we received from Dustin was the most thorough and accurate quote I have ever seen! He included everything in the quote, so there were no "surprises" or "add ons" after the fact. This made us very comfortable signing the contract. And then came the installation. Nick and his crew were outstanding! They worked quickly and efficiently, and quickly resolved the few problems that popped up during the installation. It was teamwork at its finest. The quality of the workmanship, as well as the very high quality of the product, is almost hard to put into words. All I can say is, it's perfect! Our condo now looks elegant. The transformation is truly amazing. And when I did a thorough walk through inspection of the job (1800 sf of wood floor), I did not find one defect! Thanks to Dustin for providing great customer service and an all around fantastic experience. We needed to replace our laminate floors throughout our house after a water pipe break. We waited over a year because we were turned off by the selection and service at big box stores and franchises. A friend recommended Interior Technique Remodeling...WHAT A GREAT FIND!! Dustin provided detailed care and maintenance information on the different types of flooring and showed us the difference between brands and type (laminate, engineered, real). We were able to bring home samples to see what the flooring looked like in our home and never felt pressured or pushed onto a hard sell (act fast, this deal is only good today). 5+ Stars!!! Interior Technique had come highly recommended by a good friend of mine whom had a stellar experience with this company. After shopping countless flooring stores, I had found a couple options that would work for my home, but was by no means ready to spend my money on something I didn't love. Eventually I had found a sample of a laminate floor with color/finish I had been searching for, but after doing some research I learned that it wasn't the best of quality. That's when I decided to take my friends advice and call Dustin. Although I live in Long Beach and the ITR showroom is in San Marcos, I took the trip South with hopes my quest for flooring could be put to rest. I brought this sample to Dustin and he walked me through a few similar options, at various price points. He took time explaining the pro's (and con's) of each product. I do not remember the last time a sales person gave me this much attention! I ended up picking a Barnwood style laminate, and the next day Dustin called me back with a quote. Although the price was incredibly reasonable (I had already received quotes from a few other companies), I needed a couple days to marinate on it. I never make decisions on the fly. My husband and I decided that this was definitely the best option, and we fully trusted that Interior Technique would be the best company to get the job done. When I called Dustin back to let him know that we were ready to place an order and start the work, he informed me that he had just found a closeout flooring that was nearly identical to the option we had chosen, at half the cost. He over-nighted me a swatch of a beautiful Quickstep flooring that I fell in love with!!! Assuming that they make a commission off the products they sell, I was absolutely SHOCKED that he would be so honest to share this sweet deal with me. I came in very confused and they took the time to send me home week after week with different samples and even called me with an idea of a type of scratch resistant wood brand that I ultimately went with. Michael responded to repeated text message questions which I really appreciated. The floor was laid very well too. I took off a star because it took a solid week to install two rooms due to a missing case of wood, which wasn't their fault, but there wasn't good communication on what was going on and I had to chase down an answer. After reading the reviews for this business, we were certain we were going to use them for replacing our flooring. The showroom experience was good, and we were able to take some samples home. We left our information with Mike and were told that we could be contacted in the next day or two for someone to come out and give us a quote as well as bring additional samples. After not hearing from anyone for 4-5 days, we contacted them and were told they misplaced our information. We still had their samples and they continued to express interest in our business. Mike did eventually come over and took measurements to be able to give us a quote. This was on a Friday and he said he would be at the shop on Saturday and would work on the estimate. After not hearing anything for over a week, we again initiated contact and were told that someone else would be coming out to take additional measurements. I recently replaced my carpet upstairs and on the stairs in my home. The Mike the salesman at Interior Technique Flooring helped me to find flooring that matched my existing flooring in my house. He even educated me about a flooring that I had picked out from another company that had potential health risks. Their prices weren't the cheapest but I appreciated his help and how professional and detailed their quotes were so I decided to use them. I was not disappointed with my decision or their service! The installers Zach and Noah who did my upstairs were extremely polite and did a great job. The individual who replaced the carpet on my stairs did a super job and was also very professional. I could not be happier with how our floors turned out. We had a very difficult situation with mismatch floor heights and at multiple thresholds and trying to match an older out of stock wood floor. I researched my flooring decision thoroughly before deciding on Interior Technique. And, compared to what I would have paid the big national chain, I saved over $9,000 and got a beautiful, high quality, engineered acacia floor! I'm not saying that was the price difference between the two, I actually decided to install the floor myself. It took me nearly 2 months (mainly weekends and some evenings) to do 4 large rooms, 8 stairs, a hallway, and a bath, but I highly recommend it! I'm now enjoying a beautiful floor that's all paid off, instead of making payments for years! Plus, how else can you make $9,000 in 2 months, in your spare time? Now here are a few reasons why Interior Technique was our choice for the flooring; 1. They carry all the quality brands of hardwood flooring. 2. They offer very competitive prices, and free in-house estimates. 3. Mike & Dustin are some of the nicest, and most professional people I've ever worked with. 4. Mike & Dustin are former installers themselves, so they can give you priceless time-saving, and money-saving advice, as they did many times for me. 5. If you don't want to tackle the installation job yourself, I'm convinced that their installation crews are the best in the business. That became obvious whenever they gave me the advice I frequently sought out. Now you may think that you could get this kind of advice from any hardwood floor place, but you'd be wrong. Lumber Liquidators doesn't even employ installers, they contract the work out, so who are you going to call with your questions? Empire, on the other hand, tried to talk us into a "floating floor" installation. That would have been a huge mistake in our home, and in many homes in this area. Without getting into a detailed comparison, just check the reviews on Empire Today Flooring, and floating floors, before you buy. I also want to mention that, when comparing within a price range, the quality of Interior Technique's engineered hardwood was much better than what we saw in other places. The overall thickness, and the top layer of true hardwood, was thicker, and more robust than the similar product from Lumber Liquidators. And, after installing more than a thousand square feet myself, I can say that the flaw rate I saw was well under 1%! You won't regret going with these guys, they're the best! read more

Very pleased with the work that Mike and Nicholas did installing the laminate, baseboards and t-molding for our Daughter's bedroom today. Mike and Dennis installed same for 2 other bedrooms and all 3 look absolutely amazing! What I appreciate most about Mike besides the quality of work he does, is that he explains everything about the installation before and after as well as answer any questions we have.
