When I saw this place opening in the Walpole Mall a year ago or so, I was honestly annoyed. I thought a battery store was taking over a decent spot in a plaza in the mall complex was just a waste. How many people could possibly benefit from this? But, as I needed a new circular shaped battery, I have a completely different outlook on this store. At the school I work at, I use timers regularly for different activities. Recently, many of my timers' batteries have stopped working, and since they are the circular batteries, I didn't know how to replace them. I found a coupon on the Interstate Battery website for signing up, and I ended up getting all of my timers fixed for not one penny! The guy working there was super friendly, helpful, and ready to help anyone who walked in the door. He was experienced in the field and very knowledgeable about all of the products in the store. Store was fully stocked with any sort of battery you could possibly need (I never knew how many different batteries existed!). It was organized, clean and very modern. Not any other customers in the store, and parking right outside. Make sure to go on their website and sign up for emails! They send you an amazing "cash-like" offer! 5 stars for Interstate Battery. Car didn't start this morning. Jump started it and wen to my garage. They didn't have time to test and/or replace my old battery but recommended "interstate all battery center". Parked out front, they tested my old one, declared it dead, offered helpful advice as to a new one and got it installed within 10 minutes. Great, professional service. Kudos to these folks for their honesty. I went to this place with a check-battery light on in my 1996 Toyota Camry thinking I would need a new battery. The fellow behind the desk came right out to check the battery with the hand-held electronic tool they use. He said your battery looks good would you like me to check the alternator. I said yes and he said your alternator is bad. Since I do my own car repair, I went home, pulled the alternator apart and saw worn brushes which I replaced myself for $3.00. Our family has had numerous Interstate batteries in our cars over the years, and they've always served us well. I brought my car in Saturday to purchase a new battery and have it installed. Robert (the assistant store manager) was very helpful. I told him I was going to purchase a new battery regardless of how the old one tested, as it was six years old, needed to be jumped once, and we're going into the winter. He still tested it to confirm the battery's condition, and it did show it needed to be replaced. As a regular customer, I inquired about the ability to test one of their products installed in one of our construction vehicles. The manager, promptly, on his own suggestions made a trip to our business location and provide a diagnostic test of the batteries at no charge. On a bitter cold late afternoon, Richard the manager tested my battery and I was not the least bit surprised to see it was failing. I'd needed two jump starts just from leaving my four way signal on in the past couple of weeks, even when I had driven daily. I had turned around to check out Interstate but because I hadn't shopped around they patiently waited for me to make some phone calls to get other quotes and there was no attitude about it. I soon realized their prices were more than fair and purchased a new battery for my old Forester that suited the car and my budget. I felt for Richard who had to wrestle getting the big battery securely installed in freezing cold and wind. He was concerned because some of the connecting parts in my old car were rusty and I appreciated the care he took not to harm anything. All in all it was a really smooth experience for me...I got to go sit in the neighboring McDonald's and have a hot coffee. I tried to buy one for Richard but he declined. A little over a year ago i purchased a vintage Craftsman 1/4 " cordless ratchet. Shortly after 1 use, it needed a battery. I tried unsuccessfully to replace the battery I purchased from Sears, supposedly for their ratchet....WRONG. Well, now I'm out about $100 between the purchase of the unit and the battery. So, not wanting to admit defeat, I thought I'd give Interstate a try and see if they could get the correct battery configuration for this application. Well, let me tell you what Richard says. Shouldn't be a problem, figure $25-30. Really? I said "Let's do it." So, the next day I returned with the charger and left the ratchet with Richard. Figured on a couple of weeks, cause Richard said it was going to go to the Waltham store. Well, 6 days later, the phone rings, Richard calling to tell me its fixed and ready for pick up. $24 WOW!
