Have come here once a year for state inspection since pre-covid days. Service always courteous and professional; no talking down to women at all (they even have female staff!). Haven't been using other services beyond that once-upon-a-time complimentary car wash, which might have been discontinued along with detailing that they report as of 2025 is a thing of the past. But in general, great experiences here, and they seem honest -- they're the one busting the myth of "cash only for state inspection", which many places have claimed to be the case (it's not!). Waiting area is nice, quiet, and clean, equipped with complimentary coffee and a vending machine for snacks. When my current mechanic retires, I might just be coming here more often. Bill was a great service manager and took care of an oil change and a few other checks on my vehicle. They even washed it. Took about an hour. Watching the techs interact with customers, they are honest and up front, not trying to up sell. I recently had bay 2004 Volvo S 80 into living the dream to have my rear brakes looked at after I had a problem with my driver side rear I was told that I was going to need new calipers new rotors new pairs of brake service and they quoted me a price of $1200 I felt like I was at their mercy because they already had the tires off of my car so I went ahead and paid it but after doing some research with other companies to do break work I found that I was overcharged to the tune of about $500 so shoppers for you Larry they charge you for everything. read more

As a woman who knows little about cars, it is very easy to feel taken advantage of while having car work done. Living the Dream did not make me feel that way one bit. From the beginning phone call, I had a wonderful experience with this team. I worked exclusively with Alex. He was professional, informative and honest. We discussed what work needed to be done immediately and what I could hold off completing until a month or two down the road. They charge more than you not supposed to be paying, and charging you 3x than the regular price of parts for replacement,... It use to be a great place, but now they are showing their true color.... Very poor service, brought the car to them to fix the power windows and lights, they charged 120 dollars, the lights stopped working the next day, other issues were impossible to fix according to them. Brought the car to another mechanic, everything was fixed. read more

This is nothing against the employees, the folks I spoke with were all friendly and helpful, but the prices at this shop are insane. I had my car towed here after the clutch failed the other day. I was told it would be $3600 to replace the clutch along with the pressure plate. I didn't think that much of it, as I know clutches are expensive to replace, and European car parts are usually even pricier, but it was more than half the value of my car, so I figured I'd do some research to compare. A quick google said the average cost for clutch replacement for my make and model was $1577-$1834. Then I got a quote of $1800 from another shop a couple miles up the road. A solid *half* the price these guys told me! And they charged me a $75 diagnostic fee - which seems crazy. The bill elaborates on the diagnostic fee: "tested clutch - unresponsive - needs to be replaced." Thanks! Definitely not like I literally mentioned those exact words before they even touched my car. I see all these reviews from other people mentioning reasonable prices and can't help but wonder if they're comparing with a Porche dealership? Or maybe they're just not getting an expensive enough repair to notice (or care) that they're being robbed? There is definitely nothing reasonable about the cost of repairs here though. Whether the owner is upcharging for parts or labor(or both), something is not right here. Prices aside, the service was great, so I guess if money is no object for you, go ahead and trust these guys with your car. Just keep in mind you're definitely being ripped off. read more

I recently lived the dream! My car is running well but needed some tlc.....that is a complete detail. I scheduled my appointment and the team at LTD brought me to work and picked me up when my car was ready. It was like having a new car all over again. It is three days later and my car is till sparkling both inside and out. However, the best part of working with LTD is every interaction I had with staff was exceptional....from checking in, the drivers who dropped me off and picked me up and the ease of scheduling. A great experience. I particularly liked the discussion of options available to me about work that should be done immediately and work that could be postponed. I was provided information regarding the use of after-market parts. In one case, the after-market part was recommended while in another instance the Honda part was recommended. A friend highly recommended Living the Dream Auto Care in Canton, MA when I was inquiring about a repair shop for my Honda Pilot. Although they have a competitive $19.99 oil change, I opted for the more expensive oil change service that included a complete review of my car's needs. I had my list of things as well. I was given a complimentary ride to work and a few minutes later Paul called to go over both my list and other items that their review had found. We agreed on the work and later in the day, I was picked up at work. The final price was fair and the car feels almost new. Paul thoroughly discussed the completed work and future routine maintenance that would be needed. A real nice bonus was the fact that my car had been washed and thoroughly vacuumed. This place is immaculate, has a playroom for children and internet access for those choosing to wait. Unfortunately, their coffee machine broke while I was there but they offered to get a cup of coffee from the Honey Dew Donuts next door. Choosing an auto repair shop is blind shopping. One really does not know how good the outcome will be. I never felt pressured. You will not go wrong choosing Living the Dream Auto Care. read more

This is your place. -_- Have been a customer for many years. Most of their staff have left and gone elsewhere. They have charged for things that were not done. They charged for things that were not done right. They are expensive. And I have entirely and completely lost confidence and trust in them. I explained this frustration to them and to no avail. Horrible detail. I get told for inside my car detail it's $100. I drop it off at 8am and they don't call me til noon to tell me it's gonna be a $80 upcharge Because it's super dirty. They don't have it done til 530 and I have to get the guy to scub off Gunk all over my trunk, under the mats there's mad dirt and grime. The guy gives me $20 off then tells me the guy wanted to upcharge $120 not $80 (including the $100 I was told. ) I have two babies if I knew these people sucked and we're gonna call me 4 hours after I dropped it off to up the price I would have found somewhere cheaper and more considerate. Not to mention I'm STILL cleaning dirt off stuff. read more

My father took his 2004 Accord to Boch Honda for inspection sticker and they rejected the vehicle. Told him it would cost him $700 in bogus repairs. I originally went here because these guys get excellent reviews & they're close enough to the train station that I can easily swing down and pick the car up when I get in after work. The second time I had them do the synthetic oil - not cheap - I hopped in my car and saw a low tire pressure warning, so I had the kid check it out before I left. I don't think he did a damn thing because he wanted to get out of there. He brought it in quickly, said he looked at it, said it was probably a "calibration error" and after a few days it should be fine. Keep in mind that the car had no problem with the tires at all before Living the Dream touched it for the oil change. Well after about 3 wks of me putting air into it every couple days I brought the car to Sullivan tire and they said there was a pretty noticeable puncture in the sidewall of the tire and it was un-patchable. So all said and done I ended up getting 4 new tires because I have an AWD car, and Sullivan's gotten much more business f/me since. They're much more eager to keep me informed on what's going on and will work w/me on things - even prices (!!!!). Don't believe the hype - you don't go into business unless you're in it for the money, but Living the Dream left a bad taste w/me that that's all they're in it for. read more

I've heard great reviews from a friend of the family, so I took my car in for an oil change. I was able to easily schedule an appointment online, and they were waiting for me when I arrived. The oil change Silver service package includes everything you'd get with an oil change at a Jiffy Lube or a dealership, plus an exterior wash and vacuum of the interior. The price was comparable to a dealership change, and the service was excellent. As mentioned in previous reviews, the waiting room is comfy, with an area for watching TV, internet accessible computers, and a kids area. Best of all, they made several recommendations for my car without the high pressure sales pitch I have come to expect from my dealership. I highly recommend this service center. read more

These guys are great. I've been a customer for 5 years and never had a problem with their customer service. Everything from oil change to new struts. Prices are fair, though they don't work for free. My older cars are well in excess of 200k miles and these guys have always given me great advice on what's important to repair and what I can ignore. They have a ton of experience with Hondas & Acuras. The detailing work is ok but they always seem to miss little stuff that looks obvious to me. read more

I have always trusted you and Brian from day one when you opened your Canton office. Your respond was touching but that is not what happen to me.... The first quote was an estimate &269.00 but the second quote after knowing the situation, only one horn and the labor &225.00 was not an estimate . My anger at first was at Matt when after questioning the cost on how it was so much different than Honda's $98,00 total which included Labor ...... Matt told me that you guys have to mark up your prices and I know that Brian said that was not true and even offered to do it for free . I was told that was the final cost &225.00 and when I said not to touch my car that I would be charged &45.00 for the estimate if they did not fix it...... Brian did explain afterwards that should have never happened and that when he offered to do it for free (I said no) and then said that he would do it for the same price quoted by Honda..... but at that point I feel that if I had said nothing that I would have been charged that amount of $225.00.....Matt was just the messenger and my anger should never been directed at him...... Please understand my situation here and why I feel that because I am a single women that I was taken advantage off......This should never have happened.... read more

I first used Living the Dream Auto Care in Canton based on posted reviews and the close proximity to my home. I found them expensive but thought they were thorough and had pleasant customer interaction. Then I took my Jeep there with a complaint that I had lost power to my rear wheels and I went as far as to say I believed I had a problem with my drive shaft or rear differential. I rented a car for a week because I expected it to be a serious problem. They called me a few days later and said they couldn't find the problem but recommended that I change my differential and transfer case fluids and gaskets in those components, which I did ($600.00). 5 days later, while driving home on the highway, my transfer case exploded and my drive shaft dropped to the highway. I luckily made it to the side of the road and got a tow. I returned to Living the Dream and spoke with Paul "The President". He stated he had no idea how they missed the problem and they would do whatever it took to make it right. I had my car towed there and a couple days later Paul called and said it would cost about $5,000.00 to fix. I told him I thought we had an understanding that it was his responsibility, he now said he didn't see it that way as I said it was a shaft or a differential problem and it was actually my transfer case (which he had serviced). I spoke to several other mechanics who all stated there was no way he was not responsible, they went as far as to say it was more likely his service that caused the failure (ie. forgot to put fluid back in the transfer case or used the wrong fluid). They all said there was no way someone should miss such a major problem, especially with how specific my complaint was, and that I was lucky my drive shaft didn't catch on the pavement flipping the vehicle. I ended up contacting my insurance company with my claim that they were responsible for the damage to my car, they agreed and I was paid for the damage. I ended up trading in what was left of my car believing it would never be the same. read more
