Ultimately, their work is very good (my car looked terrific, albeit after many thousands of dollars and several weeks), but they seem intent on maximizing the amount of work (and revenues). Indeed, they contacted my insurance company repeatedly to get additional change orders. What had originally been a "maybe $1,500-$2,000, and about 3 -4 days" estimate became several times larger and more time consuming. And yes, it caused my premiums to increase as well. So overall this was a disappointing experience (from several years ago), and I will use a different body shop in the future, if and as needed. read more

Had a power steering module that needed to be replaced. I called Rick in service and got my truck in. Rick guided me through the process, not an easy part to locate . He set up text messaging and we communicated easily. I had an extended warranty so the job was 100% covered. The part alone costs upwards of $4,000.00!! I came across this establishment attracted by its overwhelmingly positive reviews and convenient location in Canton. Unfortunately, my experience with them has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Upon my initial visit, I was genuinely impressed by the excellent first impression and Eli's personable and charming demeanor. He seemed knowledgeable and provided me with three invoices that appeared reasonable for the necessary body repairs my car needed. However, what was initially promised to be a one-week completion time turned into a month-long ordeal. The lack of communication throughout the process was not only frustrating but also unprofessional. Even when I made an effort to pick up my vehicle after two weeks, I was shocked to learn that it still wasn't ready, with no prior notification whatsoever. Finally, after three long weeks, I returned to retrieve my MDX. To my utter disappointment, I immediately noticed missing rubber gaskets, improperly placed plastic pieces in my back seat, and noticeable imperfections in the paint, such as unsightly bubbles. I voiced my frustration to Eli, and while he responded promptly and assured me that the issues would be resolved, it became clear that his words did not match the reality of their work. He requested more time with the vehicle to rectify the problems, but at that point, my trust in their ability to deliver satisfactory repairs had already been severely shaken. To compound the situation, Eli attempted to make amends by offering to perform my brake service. However, when he quoted me a price that was comparable to my regular mechanic, Jim's Automotive in Norwood, and tried to pass it off as a discount, I couldn't help but question his sincerity. It became evident that Eli's motivations leaned more towards salesmanship rather than genuine customer care. During my final visit to pick up my car, the previously mentioned imperfections persisted, despite Eli sharing photos of the work in progress. Moreover, after having the vehicle for a month in my possession, the paint job looks far from satisfactory, and the brakes are squeaking, casting doubt on the quality of the brake pads used. Additionally, Eli had promised to submit a supplement check for the rental, which he failed to do. This negligence has now led me to dispute the charges for both the brake service and the rental agreement with my credit card company. It's truly disheartening because I had hoped to find a trusted auto body shop, but instead, I'm left with disappointment and the need to resolve financial disputes. In summary, despite the establishment's positive reviews and Eli's initial pleasant demeanor, my experience with them has been marred by prolonged delays, poor communication, incomplete repairs, and questionable business practices. As a result, I have lost all faith and confidence in this establishment, making it impossible for me to recommend their services to others. going to an autobody shop is never a fun experience nor trying to find a nice honest local business. i went to get my control arm repaired based on recommendations from another dealership. Eli recommended i do both arms. i called around a few places and decided to go with him instead. the other places seems like they would just repair 1 arm and let the other one break so you can come back again. eli is the business owner and always seems to be available and accessible he also explained to me that my struts have gone bad as well and if i only fix the arms it will just last a month. i went to mazda in norwood and everything was just automated by txt. no1 explained to me which parts needed to be repair and why. eli was quick and appeared to be honest about the actual things that needed to be done. the dealership gave me a longer laundry list of things to be repaired. but at the end of the day he is a business man and this is still a business so just do a bit of research before committing to any repairs on the spot parking lot is a bit crowded and only spot available was the state inspection parking spot so i parked there. when you first walk you do smell some cigarette odor hitting you in the face and this is with my mask on. ironically they do have have a sign at the door requiring everyone to wear a mask but none of the workers are wearing one lol they do have a glass window at the front desk that they do close and can sometime see the front desk people smoking in the back. waiting area is a bit small but do have 6 chairs available and a tiny tv with cable. once you get over all the small quirks it is overall a great autobody shop i do see a lot of people coming in and out to drop of their cars while i was in the waiting room. they seem to be pretty up front with everything. they have a sign stating $115 an hr so everything is transparent and makes sense. eli will tell you how much a part cost and total quote before bringing your car in didn't notice any free visible public wifi here but xfinity hotspot is available if you have an act with xfinity. library and convenience store nearby if you feel like going for a walk overall i'm happy with the services and likely will come back again. read more

Their service has been top notch since the first day my mom broke down a few blocks from their initial shop in Randolph. They were small then and even as they grew they stayed their same humble, loyal and professional selves. From, Sam to Ray to Claudette to Eli, all are genuine and caring as are the rest of the crew. They serviced all of my families' vehicles. We call them family and they treat us and their customers as such. A couple months later, when I got into my first auto accident, Eli not only fixed the dent and damage above my left wheel expertly but also matched the paint perfectly (I have a VW Beetle in Candy White). Eli also helped me navigate the next steps on what to do as well as providing me with solid advice on how to work with my insurance provider. OK, this is going to sound ridiculous, but I have no wife or kids and so my vehicle is like my baby. I was devastated to find that some punks had vandalized my car one night. Fortunately,I went straight to Canton Auto Services and Auto Body and was greeted by the owner while his team buzzed with activity throughout the facility. The energy of the place left me feeling as if they really care about the work they do and that I was in good hands. This isn't the feeling I get at most establishments regardless of the services offered, so I was really hopeful that they would be able to take care of my vehicle. They were open and honest throughout the whole repair even pointing out to me that I was better off calling in the glasswork I needed as opposed to letting them handle it as it would've cost me more. After a thorough review of my vehicle and working with my insurance company they got right to work. Jeff and others on the team went above and beyond the call of duty and were disciplined, organized, and communicated with me throughout the process. The end result was nothing short of amazing. It was as if I had a brand new car. I can't say enough about the quality of the work they had done and the finishing touches. I have very high standards for the services I purchase and they exceeded them in every way. I used to have a convertible Mercury Capri (which I drove into the ground) that I loved a lot. Whenever I had a problem I brought it to these guys, who kept it living probably longer than it's natural lifespan. If you like paying MORE than dealership prices, this is the mechanic for you. Look, I'm not a car person. I trusted these other reviews thinking I found a gem. So shame on me for not shopping around harder when the owner told me that my front brakes needed replacing (and for not running for the exit when he claimed to be a straight shooter. It's funny how people who claim to be straight shooters are often the opposite). I only found out that I had overpaid when I brought my car into the dealership recently for some other work, and the technician at the dealer saw my old receipt for Canton Auto and told me that the dealer woulda been cheaper. FYI $450 for the parts and $300+ for labor is what I was charged at Canton Auto for changing the front brakes on a Prius. Was this a one-off? Unlikely. I also got quoted more for replacing a battery than the dealership. read more

The gas gauge on my 2009 Prius was not showing the correct amount of fuel in my tank. We took it to Boch Toyota and they want about $2000 to replace the gas tank and integrated sender mechanism plus $500 to diagnose the issue. That's nuts. We took the car to Canton Auto Services and Auto Body. They did a simple reset sequence on the gas gauge and now it works perfectly. My cost? $150. Eli is honest, knows what he is doing, and gave great value for the money. We cant recommend this business enough! read more

Found these guys kinda by accident when my wife dropped in for an inspection sticker. Up to that point we had pretty much relied on major chains for tires and brakes and me and my tools for routine maintenance. They're very knowledgeable, not pushy, reasonably priced and not afraid to say "you should really go to the dealer for that . . ." They also were able to fix a couple small issues, like squeaky brakes on my F-150, that other mechanics (like my Ford dealer) said "oh sometimes cars/trucks just do that." The guys are also very accommodating and on occasion have taken us home when dropping off a car if my wife and my work schedules conflicted. read more

Came here to ask for a estimate for something, guy eyeballs it and tells me 800 without putting it in the lift to properly diagnose. Claims he seen this problem all the time and without a doubt I need to replace everything. Says his service was cheap for what he was giving me. Went somewhere else and they was able to put it on the lift and I didn't damage as much things as he said. Ended up paying 300 for the fix elsewhere. I thought I would add my voice to reviews since one of the negative reviews has been filtered by Yelp, conveniently enough. If I had read that review I would not have made the mistake I did. So now I'll add to the negative reviews in hopes Yelp approves this one. I had my car professionally detailed here for $250. Now, I could have gone elsewhere and gotten a detail done for $150 or even $80 through coupon sites. However, I too was taken in by how nice Eli seemed and everything he promised about all the things he could do to make the car look beautiful. Boy did they over promise and under deliver. The quality of work on the car was shoddy at best. There were so many missed spots in and around the car. The whole process took 7 hours start to finish and when I finally got my car back at 4:30 pm it was too dark to notice all the things that were not done properly. I pointed out one thing immediately, the guy had not wiped the cleaning solution off my window properly so there was a huge streak on driver's side of windshield. To their credit they immediately fixed it but I was too tired after a long day of work to complain about the rest of the stuff. Considering how much I paid for the service and considering how much Eli touted his detailing as being able to make the car look spotless, and considering all the positive reviews I was incredibly disappointed. As far as mechanical work is concerned. I had my car inspected here before I bought the car just to make sure everything is alright. I bought it based on that trust and it's the very reason I went in for detailing. Now I wonder, however, whether I can completely trust them or not. I found out today that they lied to me the first time I brought my car in. My first time there was for an inspection. I was told they passed my car even though it needed new front brakes. They told me to bring it back soon. I did. Ice had a year of squealing brakes. I brought the car in several times to check the brakes. I was told that with the ceramic pads there would be sound, but I should wash them off. Today, I brought the car somewhere else. The just one year old pads have eaten my rotors. Also, brakes are not part of the state inspection. After spending nearly $1K on the brakes last year, I'm spending another $350 on rotors and pads this year. Good-bye. read more

You know them as Canton Auto on Washington St but my family and I go back to when they were in Randolph, MA (some 25 yrs ago) when they were operating out of a small gas station. They moved from there to Canton and my mom moved from Milton to Canton right down the street from them..We tease her saying she followed them because they were so awesome! Mom moved back home to Alabama and asks bout them as much as they ask about her. (they never forget anyone) My wife and I continue to go there because their work is excellent and they are wonderful, honest and caring people. They will bend over backwards to make sure you are comfortable with their work. I would give 6 stars if i could. I've been going to Eli at Canton Auto Services for over 10 years. It's great to have a mechanic I can trust. If you are loyal to him, he will help you when you need it. I typically drive about 30k miles a year with my vehicles so I usually keep them until they have really high miles. Eli is honest and tells it like it is. Even with the high miles I drive, I've never been broken down on the side of the road (knock on wood) because Eli catches issues before they get to the point of causing the vehicle to break down. Eli always uses quality parts when he fixes something. For example, before I went to Eli, I was having to get new brakes almost twice a year with the high miles I was driving. After going to Eli, I only need brakes every other year, if that. Eli explained to me that he uses higher quality brake pads and rotors that will last twice as long as what the other shops will use. Those other places slap the cheapest brakes on, don't change the rotors and lead you to believe you are getting a deal. I love reading the reviews where people said they called other places to compare prices. Truth is, somewhere else might give you a cheaper price, but they are giving you crap parts that won't last. I don't know about you, but I don't want a used part that was pulled out of a car at a junk yard just to save $100. I don't know much about cars, but I've learned from experience, that quality parts make a difference. Most people that write the bad reviews don't know anything about cars either and they think they are getting a deal from someone else. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples because the cheapest price isn't always the way you want to go. In addition, Eli has given me loaner cars to use for a day or two while my car is being fixed. I don't know any other place that would do that. Eli has also offered to drive me over 20 minutes back to my house after dropping off my car. I used to live in Canton, but now I live further away and still go to Canton Auto Services. Nobody likes hearing that their vehicle needs work, but when I do need something, I only trust Canton Auto Services to do the job right. Thank you! read more
