Might be the only game in town(?). I like the staff. But some logistical issues. Lanes on the left work about 95% of the time. Lanes on the right work about 70% of the time. Food service needs help... out of wings most recently. Fryers down previous visit. I like their food. It's more of a logistics and maintenance issue. Otherwise, the bowling is good! If I could put no stars I would, I bowled here and was put on a lane that kept dropping the pins, the pin spotter kept shutting off, the sensor was reading the pins incorrectly and my scores kept having to be reset. And don't even get me started on the lane oil. 0/10 I would not ever recommend bowling here. read more

If you come here with high expectations you won't get it. The pins reset whenever they feel like it and your ball may not return. I'm only giving 3 stars for that reason. The staff is great though. The attendant Becca is always helpful, pleasant and very attentive. And the ladies at the beer counter are great too. It's good for families and kids. They also have league bowling on certain nights, so check before you go. read more

Rude staff, kitchen wasn't open until 5pm on a Friday. Only 1 lane worked with bumpers. Apparently they can't refund you if you sign up for 2 hours, find out they don't have enough people scheduled to run the kitchen and want to only pay/bowl for 1 hour. This place was recommended by one of the staff members at the Massanutten resort. We arrived around 8 or so, and found none of the lanes open. We were told we can come back after 9 and the bowling leagues should be done by then. So we went to the bar area. Was shocked people were still allow to smoke inside bars. We made the most of it, by sitting on the far side of the bar but smokes travels. We ordered a few angry orchards and ordered some hot wings and chicken fingers. The bartender was very friendly. We then went to check in to bowl. The sweet young lady was so helpful, that she made sure we set up with a good lane. The music was mostly country, but then found out theu had the jukebox. I didn't have any cash on hand to play anything else. Some of the places I have been to, let's customer pick music all night no charge so to speak. Other than that, the system was easy to navigate and was thrilled to get out scores via email. read more

Two words: well priced. $15/person for 2 hours on a Saturday night. Not too bad all things considered. Customer service was also great. All the employees were kind and courteous - definitely made for a nice experience. That said, it lost a star because it is not even remotely clean. The dust against the corner of the floor where it meets the wall actually has filled in the space and looks like grout! The bathrooms are nasty so I'd recommend that the ladies "squat and hover." Really, in the end your experience is more about the people that you go and bowl with. So, choose wisely and head on over. Bonus: cosmic bowling after 8 pm on Saturday = glowing neon bowling balls. read more

It tis a very nice bowling alley. You can change the electric score board design a thousand times. I am a baaaad bowler but my Poppy Paul beats me to a paulp in bowling. I do wish the lady at the desk smiled, she twas a quite depressing sight. I would love if there twas free ice cream and doughnut once a week it may boost sales. This is a GREAT place to take your family or even just yourself!! There's tons of games for all group ages. Your kids can win all different kinds of toys from cranes or challenge each other to air hockey or basketball while you have a cold beer in the bar while watching your favorite temas compete against each other and even challenge your own buddies to a round of Golden Tee Golf!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would. We have gone there 5 different times and each time we were told we couldn't be there due to league bowling. This is not posted anywhere online, how would we know? Especially since we are told different each and every time. One of the times was for my sons bday. I called a week prior and told I would be fine at 2pm. Nope! Turned away yet again. The place is also filthy and none of the arcade machines work. I live in town but I will drive to Staunton from now on. The 30 min drive is worth it for better customer service and atmosphere. I asked to talk to a manager, and was quickly told they don't have one. Don't go here. It will be a waste of your time. read more

I didn't even get passed the front desk. The fact that they do not have military discount was enough for me. I will however say the staff was very kind and the place seemed clean. But the military sever this country and save our lives and business. There would not be no business owned by us here if it was not for them. To not recognize and acknowledge the military is disgraceful and unappealing. I feel like in this day and age it is totally unacceptable in my opinion for a business. Good bowling! Lots of lanes available. This is obviously an older bowling alley, but the lanes themselves are well maintained. There is a sports bar attached to the bowling alley, so they serve food and beer while you bowl. Weekend pricing is per 2 hour block, as many games as you can fit in. read more

Hubby loves bowling. He does it for sport. I am an occasional bowler. So take that in mind when reading my review. We wanted to kill time so we came here. Pricing confused the heck out of me but for three games and a shoe rental it came to around $20 I think? (Hubby has his own gear). The woman seemed a little cocky in explaining things but professional. The establishment seemed clean but very dated. Their bowling Shoes could use replacing as they seemed more worn down than other shoes I have rented. There were a ton of families with kids so this place is kid friendly. They have a small concession stand that sells various food items along with two soda machines stocked with soft drinks (overpriced in my opinion). I can't comment on anything else because we did our three games and left. Would we come back if we lived here? Probably so. Didn't encounter anything that would prevent me from wanting to come back. read more

Do not go here. Management is very poor and the facilities are dirty. It is a waste of your money. The prices are cheap, and it shows. Rude service and a bad time means we won't be coming back. New management is needed. read more

Terrible customer service!!! The old man at the counter wouldn't stop his conversation about the election or even acknowledge us standing there with our one year old. Finally he talked to us just to tell us he needed to start a bowling league so he'd be back to help us. He insisted my son who s a BABY needed bowling shoes to be on the floor and that he would charge him for helping us bowl a couple times. He didn't even have his size, so forcing a baby to wear shoes two sizes too big is far more risky than just letting him in his normal sneakers. He was SO rude we left without even bowling. I really wanted to enjoy my time at the bowling alley this evening but unfortunately, that didn't happen. The man at the desk acted like it was inconvenient for him to service me. I find it extremely inappropriate to talk about a customer like they aren't standing right in front of you. Out of the several employees in the bowling alley, only one was friendly & helpful. Any other bowling alley has got to be better than this one. Smells of urine in arcade area. Most of arcade games broken (but none labeled as such). 2 rude employees. Treated us like it was our fault for trying to enjoy machines that don't work, backing eachother up like some dysfunctional team. The woman who said she was the manager wouldn't refund my kid's 50 cents while he's standing there trying to hold back tears. He's 6 yrs old. My other kids also lost money to the arcade games which refused to refund before that. We came here hoping to make their day brighter after an already disappointing day. This one took the cake. If you ever stay at the Massanutten Resort and need something calm to do, try the other alley in Harrisonburg. Wish we had gone with it instead. read more

Our evening began at 8 pm with a party of 11. We each bought two games. The staff came over at the start of our second game and stated that after 10 pm we would have to pay more money to continue playing the games we already paid for or would be offered a refund. This 10 pm "policy" was never mentioned when they happily accepted our money at 8 pm. I question the morals and business ethics of this place . Valley lanes offers alleys to roll bowling balls, but customer service, common sense, and dignity escape them. read more

Place was awesome, Wednesday night special $12 per person for 2 hours, how can you beat that? Own gear and shoes so didn't struggle with ball or shoe issues like others posted. 32 lanes, pitchers of beer and food was pretty good too. Lively atmosphere between league going on and a big group of James Madison guys having fun. Kid-friendly and good number of pool tables. People posted that the decor is old but the excellent computer system they have for the lanes makes up for that. I'd rather have computer systems that work than nice carpeting if I had to pick. Oh and last thing, the comment about the step - it's a bowling alley, figure out the lanes, the sliding and stepping before you bowl and you'll be just fine. read more

This places used to be a decent place to bowl. The music was usually bland and low, but the lanes were decent as were the rental balls. However they recently moved to a pay as you go jukebox system. Not too many people are willing to pay per song while their ALREADY paying to bowl. Bad move guys, I wish you nothing but the worst of luck. read more

I did not have a good experience. Most places have cosmic bowling starting around 9pm, here it's 10. I was confused when they asked if we wanted cosmic bowling, we said sure and they said $30. I said that's a lot and they said it's unlimited. Ok, fair, but I only wanted two games and I paid for two games each for my daughter and myself, $20. So 14 min later they turn on cosmic bowling, on either side ot the alley, and left the lights on in the center, where we and two other lanes were being used. When we were the only people left they all the lights in th facility off except for our lane, for 45 minutes until we left. As soon as our game was over they turn off the light. I guess that was our punishment for not wanting to pay the extra $10. We spent twice the time there because the ball return wasn't working properly and they refused to switch us to a different lane.
