I'm 54 years old and have never written a negative review and have no desire to write this one. I purchased two Yamaha luxury watercraft (VX1800 models) from Interstate in 2021. Both machines almost wound up at the bottom of Lake Norman because of a design defect in the hull. The first at the end of 2022 and the other in the spring of 2024. I say "almost" because both machines were close enough to the shoreline to be swum in while slowly sinking. The machines never hit anything in the water, nor we subjected to any abuse. It was disappointing to spend almost 15k in repairs, but that is NOT why I am writing this review. After repeatedly reaching out to Interstate and once to the Yamaha Corporation over 6 months and getting no response or vague responses, it was time for me to move on. I've moved on by purchasing a new watercraft from Lake Norman Powersports with the intention to purchase a 2nd one shortly. So long Interstate and Yamaha. You wore me out! read more

Alright here's the part 2, got my bike back with the maintenance done. I am loving the performance on the bike as i installed a decat and did a 10k service. The price was decent mah be being used to California rate and a past Ducati owner. The service was awesome, some good chat with the boys at the service counter. The main thing for me to go back would be the service time. I have been to several dealer and workshops and nobody could match their service time. If you own a Triumph and you need a place for your bike needs. This is the place. I am 30 mins away but i would always ride to them if i need anything to be done on my bike. read more

Brought my 2021 Polaris Highlifter 850 to these guys to do an oil change. they forgot to put oil back in it and the engine blew. They told me you would replace the motor at no cost to me. They have had the wheeler for months and no one will call me and give me an update or communicate what the issue is. BBB complaint filed. Guys, fix the darn thing and let me have it back. I walked into Interstate Cycle several months ago just to look at a used Street Cup and wishing I could make a purchase. Since then I've been there several times and always greeted with professionalism and no pressure. I finally got all my gear, some through their parts department, to complete my MSF and get my endorsement. As soon as I had it I test rode a couple of bikes and decided on the one that was right for me. I want to specifically say thanks to Bo for meeting with me on my first visit and talking to me each time I came by and then taking me on the test rides. Purchased a '21 BMW G310R motorcycle from Interstate Cycle whereby there was a known safety issue with a broken rear turn signal bracket which the dealership promised to fix prior to delivery as the turn signal is at risk of falling off into the rear tire. When they delivered the motorcycle to me noticed the turn signal was not fixed. Immediately contacted them, and after a lot of back and forth chasing them down over a few weeks, they merely provided a screw to re-attach the bracket. While the screw is the correct thread pattern, it has the wrong screw head, the nut for the screw to thread inside behind the bracket is missing, and the bracket is cracked, thus the screw is worthless. When I advised the manager Tyler of this, he agreed to order a new turn signal from a BMW parts dealer and install it. Inexplicably, Tyler called me on Friday a week later to inform me that although they ordered the new turn signal and provided Motorcycles of Charlotte a credit card to pay for it, that he had been advised by the dealership owner to cancel the purchase and they were not going to do anything more for me and that was all he was told to say...then proceeded to hang up on me. Other than the safety issue with the turn signal, the motorcycle is a wonderful little bike. However, based upon my experience, I would Not recommend anyone to do business with Interstate Cycle, whether it be for purchase or service on a motorcycle, ATV, UTV, or waverunner...instead seek to do business elsewhere with a dealer that cares about more than just getting the initial sale. read more

I went in to ask a question about service for a four wheeler. Had one rear tire that was losing air and needed to find someone to repair it. Service counter greeted me but then said I would have to talk to a different person who was working on a computer behind the counter. He never even acknowledge my presence. I waited patiently for 20 minutes with no engagement from the person at the counter. And that point I decided to slowly walk out to see if anyone would stop me to ask me if I was being served. I would never darken the door of that place again. Unless you're purchasing a motorcycle or a new ATV they do not want your business. read more

straight out lied to me on the phone. i had called about a battery and they had it in stock and i told the guy on the phone that i was going to be there right at closing time (6pm) and maybe a minute or two after and he agreed to wait until 6:15 pm. so i headed that way and at 6:02 pm im sitting at the stop light right before you pull into their entrance and i watched them leave. i knocked on the door and waited until 6:15 and no one else came out.. straight out lied to me...never had any intentions on waiting in me. if you lie about something so simple there's no telling what else lies the business tells customers...i'll never go there again!!. i found this out later on but i have a buddy on the same day but earlier called them and asked about a tablet mount for a polaris razor and they said they had it...great right? well he drove 45 mins like i did and when he got there they said they carry anything of that nature..once again they lied. i wouldnt recommend buying anything from these low class pricks! read more

I've had 3 Sea Doo's in my water career, and never really looked at another brand of water craft... UNTIL Interstate Cycle in Mooresville. Matt and his team gently persuaded me to try a 2013 Yamaha VXR. I'm in love. I tried a different model first, but didn't have quite enough power for me. This one is great. And so are the team at Interstate cycle. I traded in a double trailer and a 1999 Sea Doo. They gave me a great deal and are awesome to work with. Have been in a few times to look at Polaris utv and atv products. Underwhelmed with their service levels: hard to get a salespersons attention and when you do they aren't terribly helpful or respectful particularly if you have a young child with you. Calling is also a challenge, they are hard to get on the phone when Ive rung up. They don't take kindly to your child sitting on their vehicles either - one staff member actually yelled at my child for climbing into one, ironically I was actually there to make a purchase of an atv or utv for him that day before that. Overall, I will buy my rzr and kids atv somewhere that appears interested in my business. * update: these guys moved to Mooresville off exit 33. Same crew. Bad service. I ended up making a purchase from Matthews Fun Machines a few months later, over the top service and care. Spent $18k that day and a colleague along bought a Teryx for a similar price. Very impressive service. The bad, I was out for Polaris products originally - Interstate not serving me cost their brand money. More options at Matthews. I also checked out Lake Norman Powersports, nice people very helpful on the sales side but minimal inventory - I never saw anything in stock that I wanted. Not only did we leave with two, but they were also personally delivered and placed in the water with a test run.... Don't rate this place by the guys on the side. Ask for John... This place has moved to exit 33 of I-77. I have been out to Interstate Cycle about a dozen times now, I've been acquainted with the staff, and ultimately, I don't think I will be coming back through the door anytime soon unless it's a necessity. I like that the place is close by and easily accessible off I-77. They have a great stock of vehicles and parts. Ok, that said, the service department is fairly piss-poor to say the least. They NEVER pick up the phone. Hell, I've witnessed guys there just sitting around, doing nothing, with the phone ringing right next to them and thinking, "Yep, that was me calling yesterday just before driving my ass all the way up here only to get a question answered." Aggravates the sh*t out of me. I suppose the nail in the coffin was getting an estimate for carb cleaning at $85 a carb. Then, after hauling a motorcycle by truck, pulling it off, and having them take it around back, they slam me with an extra $100 which to this day I have no idea what that went to. The reps response made no sense and once finished, the receipt was completely indescriptive of their work. Upon seeing this, I was just so fed up, paid it, and moved on. I have been a motorcyclist for 35+ years and have purchased in excess of 20 motorcycles. In the last 5 years alone I have purchased eight motorcycles. This is without a doubt the worst motorcycle buying experience I have had. Everyone makes mistakes. It's how you resolve the mistake that matters. These guys totally fell flat and dropped the ball. They sent me home with a potentially unsafe bike and screwed up paperwork. It has now been six weeks to the day since I purchased the bike and I do not have the plate for it. I just called again to inquire if they had my plate and was told they had just sent in the paperwork earlier in the week. Yes, over five weeks after the sale they had just sent in the paperwork to the DMV! I purchased this bike at the end of the day on a Saturday. I have to say they were very nice to deal with at the time and stayed late to make the deal happen and send me home with the bike. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience stopped. When I got home and unloaded the bike, I found that they had not done a PDI or pre-delivery inspection, which I paid for as part of the setup fee, by the way. They sent me home with a bike that was potentially unsafe to ride and would have been mechanically damaged if I had ridden it. If they had done the PDI they would have found multiple damaged parts and a multiple assembly issues including a chain that was too tight, which can cause serious mechanical damage to the engine or outright failure. The bike had never even been started and test run. I know this because the bike took a bit of time on the first start to prime the injection system. After that first start the bike starts instantly every time. Note that a PDI is a requirement for warranty coverage by most manufacturers. If I have issues in the future I may be without warranty coverage. Thanks guys!! When I reviewed the paperwork, I found that they had written up the sale with the wrong VIN number. I emailed them right away and called them first thing Monday morning, their next business day. At this point they should have been able to fix the paperwork and carry on. They should have sent me new paperwork overnight to correct the error. That is what a reasonable business would do. In fact that is what I was told they would do. They did not. When the paperwork didn't arrive I called them and was told it was sent Tuesday. (Why wasn't it sent Monday?) They lied. It was not sent tuesday. They finally sent an employee to my house the following Saturday with replacement paperwork. The paperwork they were supposed to send overnight Monday arrived the following week via regular mail. It was postmarked Friday, after I was told it was mailed Tuesday. Here's the deal guys. I'm the customer you want to take care of. I'm the guy that buys new bikes every year. You made mistakes. You lied to me. I don't care if you're busy. There are a lot of dealerships in the area. I will go elsewhere in the future and would recommend you do as well. Edited 12/21/17 to reply to business response. You may have done a PDI but obviously you didn't do it correctly. The bike was sent out with too many issues. If you do this type of PDI on a 100+hp sport bike you are going to kill someone. Your comment on needing a new MCO to send me a corrected temp tag is pure BS. Your guys simply did not do what they said they would do. As far as not noting telling you about issues: I did. That's why you have a new turn signal on order. By the way, it's been two months. Where's my warranty replacement turn signal?? As far as calling you to fix things: if that's how you do a PDI, your techs are not touching a bike of mine again. read more

I went in today to shop helmets. Anthony greeted me immediately and asked probing questions to find out what I wanted. He offered a good selection, I made a decision, bought the helmet I liked best and rode the rest of the day in a great helmet. Many thanks to Anthony. I go in to some dealers and you have to beg them to help you. Not here, at least not with Anthony. I bought other items from this business over the years, always a good experience. If you don't know what gender you are, you should probably seek help. If Yelp or it's patrons are concerned about gender neutral bathrooms, competitors to Yelp, you have an opportunity. read more

As much as I would love to say Interstate Cycles is customer focused, they just aren't. I have recently moved here and was looking for a local dealership to be my goto place for parts, service and sales. My first encounter with Interstate has been dreadful. From a lack of knowledge about parts to absolutely poor customer service. This unfortunately will not be a place I will recommend to anyone. I wanted to get a windshield for my motorcycle, the person looking them up was looking in the wrong catalog, she needed guidance from someone who seemed to have had more knowledge of where to properly look up the parts. Thing is they never attempted to properly measure and fit me for the windshield. Even though I originally mentioned to them that I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted in a windshield. There just wasn't any genuine interest in the customer and proper fit, it seemed. All they wanted to do was process an order. Make $$$. Well, the parts came in. When I collected them I inquired if the windshield doesn't work for me can I return it and the parts manager "Brian" stated yes, we will work something out (just don't drive with it), indicating that they would take it back for a return. (I should have known those very tricky words of "we will work something out" was an indication that they wouldn't hold to their word". But being excited to be able to have a windshield for my next ride the following weekend lead me to believe that they would take care of me. I went to mount the windshield and the original MFG had packaged the product incorrectly. It wasn't this shops fault, nor was it their supplier. It was the Vendor. I will point that out. I called up Interstate (since I purchased the parts from them) and all they could do was say, well I'll just have to contact my vendor to see what they can do. I explained my desire to have the windshield on by the weekend as I was doing a long ride. Even with my suggestion of them contacting the MFG they stated they had to go through their vendor. Why can't anyone think outside the box anymore? Well after hanging up with Interstate, I decided to contact the vendor. They stated that they would send out the missing parts. Yeah!!! So I thought. 2 days I contact Interstate back as I haven't heard anything from them. Another person sated he would check on it. The following day they contact me back saying that their vendor can't help and suggested to contact the MFG and when they did that they discovered that I had already contacted them. I get the parts from the MFG and they where the wrong parts. This has taken WAY too long for me to get a simple add-on for my bike. I called up the MFG and requested that they overnight the correct parts to me. They stated that they don't work that way. I stated that I then wont support them "MEMPHIS SHADES" if they don't care enough about the customer to fix their error promptly. I called Interstate and explained to them what had happened and was planning on doing business with them and wanted to order a different windshield from a different MFG. They indicated that they would take back the Memphis Shades windshield and then order a different part. Thing is "Bryan" didn't even know if they even carried the MFG I was looking for. But he stumbled on it and found what I was looking for. I inquired if I was going to be provided the same discount as I originally received when I originally ordered the windshield and was told NO that the full retail price was what the cost would be. This to me indicates that this dealership is NOT customer focused. They have NO understanding on what customer service is. They don't seem to understand that there is a proper fit for a windshield (indicating not properly trained). Or if someone purchases a product they expect to get what they paid for, If the parts are wrong they should do what ever it takes to correct the issue as fast as possible. I went up there to return the defective product and they wouldn't return it. Even the store manager (i assume) was not professional using inappropriate language with me. Poor Customer Service. I went in to order new tires for my motorcycle. I verified with the Intersate Cycle parts employees that the tires would be new/ recently manufactured. I don't ride a lot in a year and wanted them to last a long time. Interstate Cycle installed a tire on the back that was over 3 years old from the manufacture date. I called to get the issue fixed. I was told they would talk to a rep and call me back. One week later, no call, so I text them the entire list of events. I get a text back saying someone will "reach out" to me. 5 days later no one reached out. This time I send a text threatening to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Later that day one of the owners, John calls me. John states that he has talked to the Dunlop rep who told him that tires can be installed up to 6 years after manufacture and then they are good for 7 years after installation. Then John says, so a tire can be installed 5 years after the manufacture date then be good for another 7 years making 12 years after the manufacture date. Dunlopmotorcycletires.com under FAQ states " Scientific or technical data indicate that a specific minimum or maximum service life cannot be objectively established. It is not appropriate to establish an arbitrary tire removal date based on chronological age due to the wide variety of factors affecting a tire's service life." So I've been to numerous other websites trying to find answers. Some say to replace 5, 6 or 7 years after manufacure date. The absolute longest I found anywhere was 10 years after manufature date even if they appeared perfect. John did not offer anything to compensate me. He did suggest that if I was still not happy, which I made clear that I was still unhappy, that I could call Dunlop whose warehouse the tires came from and maybe they would give me something. To recap, Interstate Cycle said I would receive recently manufactured tires, I got a three year old tire, Interstate Cycle ignored me for 12 days then did not apologize or offer anything. I give John credit for calling me finally. I guess they have plenty of other customers and don't care if they lose some. read more

I suggest for everyone to stay away. Frank Cline is the best thing they have going for them. Jessie is a PRICK to but it nicely. John from service is a nice guy but works for the owner so he has to do what he says. I did have a bald tire when I purchase the bike. I had it for a day I called back and the owner replaced it for free no problem. That was great customer service! Then some days go by and I bring the bike to my shop Kevin Powell Motorsports to do a recall that Interstate Cycle said they will not do. So for a favor I asked my shop to just look over my bike. I had 2 leaking folks that were OLD leaking for seals both sides. I also had a bad back rotor and front brake pads because of folk leaks. I called Interstate they said bring it in so I did. They simply blamed everyone else and said " we wont fix it for free we already gave you a back tire" The owner did offer a 10% discount which was a joke because even with the discount Kevin Powell Motorsports was 20 % cheaper. This bike shouldn't have pass inspected despite Interstate saying they inspected the bike and it PASSED . Bottom line they are good when you pay cash for the bike but not good at realizing there error. BUYER BEWARE!!! P.S. Jessie really is a PRICK he tries to talk down to you like you know nothing about motorcycles and he is the Sales Manager. I have purchased a waverunner from this dealerabout 2 years ago while up at Lake Norman and had a great experience with them. It was a used yamaha waverunner FX and so I decieded to add another one for my wife and purchased a second one about two weeks ago. The price was great better than what I found on ebay or craigslist from a private sale for same kind and similar hours. The dealership was easy to work with and allowed me to get my credit union for the financing and worked with them to get this done. I would definatly use them again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a waverunner. read more
