Extremely happy we have the option to use Interval with our time share points. It provides a great option to travel outside of our timeshares properties and honestly we use it more than our home resort.

Unfortunately, much of the rest of the stay was frustrating from the start. Finding where to check in is confusing at first, and before arrival I called to ask if early check-in might be available. I explained that if a room wasn't ready, I'd spend time elsewhere before coming to the hotel. I was told they could not tell me unless I appeared in person, which served no practical purpose and was incredibly annoying. Even then, when I returned by 3:30 p.m. there was no room anyway and we sat in the tiny lobby with our bags. The front desk service was average at best. Not rude, but not welcoming either. I genuinely felt more tolerated than helped, and eventually just avoided interacting with them. I wasn't even told about any amenity they offered or even where the elevators were. Just got my key handed to me - not even telling me my room number. Having spent years working in hospitality many years ago this level of "service" stood out in a bad way. Also, the room layout is one of the strangest I've seen: The sink sits in the middle of the room rather than in the bathroom, so using it at night wakes anyone sleeping. The bathroom has a sliding door (not a pocket door) that remains partially open, and you can literally see the toilet from the bedroom. Privacy is almost nonexistent. Going to the bathroom is basically a team sport. Trash cans have no liners, and when we requested bags they were delivered but not installed. Housekeeping was inconsistent and usually incomplete. The bath mat was routinely left inside the shower, meaning turning on the water could soak it before you even stepped in. The housekeeping staff themselves weren't unfriendly, but they often stood in the hallway having loud conversations, which was disruptive. When you walk by the housekeeping team start doing random things like dusting signage so it seemed they were busy. One true bright spot: the bartender Jocelyn. She was fantastic, welcoming, and made excellent drinks (the Nutella martini is outstanding). Unfortunately, even that was dampened by an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bar bill. I normally tip 20% anyway, but a business deciding that I am going to tip and also the tip amount without clear advance notice is inappropriate and leaves a bad impression. Overall, the hotel feels highly overrated. The location is excellent, but the service, layout, and operational issues made the stay more frustrating than relaxing. I would stay somewhere else next time and simply come back to the bar which ironically the best part of the property.

Miami Biltmore Hotel is a historic place . A little history…read more: The hotel was designed by Schultze and Weaver and built in 1926 by John McEntee Bowman and George Merrick as part of the Biltmore hotel chain. The hotel's tower is inspired by the Giralda, the medieval tower of the cathedral of Seville Spain. When completed in 1926, the Biltmore became the tallest building in Florida at 315 feet holding the record as Florida's tallest building until 1928 when the Dade County Courthouse was built. At one time, the pool was the largest pool in the world and employed swimming instructor (and later Tarzan actor) Johnny Weissmuller. It served as a hospital during World War II and as a Veterans Administration Hospital and campus of the University of Miami medical school until 1968. The hotel was then abandoned for many years before again restoring operations as a hotel in 1987. In 1986, Miami Biltmore Hotel was designated a National Historic Landmark. In 1925, land developer George E. Merrick joined forces with Bowman-Biltmore Hotels president John McEntee Bowman at the height of the Florida land boom to build "a great hotel...which would not only serve as a hostelry to the crowds which were thronging to Coral Gables but also would serve as a center of sports and fashion." In January 1926, after ten months of construction at a cost of $10 million, the hotel opened and visitors included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Al Capone, and assorted Roosevelts and Vanderbilts as frequent guests. Franklin D. Roosevelt had a temporary White House office set up at the Hotel when he vacationed in Miami. Several months after the hotel opened, on September 18, the 1926 Miami Hurricane struck. While the hotel was undamaged, providing shelter for over 2000 survivors, the disaster signaled the end of the Florida land boom. Merrick's Coral Gables company declared bankruptcy on April 13, 1929, and Merrick's stake in the hotel was bought out by his partner, John McEntee Bowman in November 1929 for $2.1 million.Bowman resold the hotel in September 1931 to millionaire Henry Latham Doherty. A large part of the hotel's revenue in the 1930s came from aquatic galas. As many as 3,000 people would come out to watch the synchronized swimmers, bathing beauties, and alligator wrestling. Johnny Weissmuller, before he was known for his role in Tarzan, broke a world record at the pool. With the onset of World War II, the War Department took over the hotel, converting it to a 1200-bed hospital in November 1942. The building was transferred to the Army in 1946 and renamed Pratt General Hospital. Many of the windows were sealed with concrete, and the marble floors covered with government-issue linoleum. The hospital was transferred from the Army to the Veterans Administration ,in July 1947. Also the early site of The University of Miami's School of Medicine, Pratt General Hospital remained a VA hospital, with 450 beds, until a newer facility opened nearby in May 1968 and the building was vacated. In 1973, through the Historic Monuments Act and Legacy of Parks program, the City of Coral Gables was granted ownership control. The building remained unoccupied for almost 10 years. Then in 1983, the City oversaw its full restoration to be opened as a grand hotel. It was reopened on December 31, 1987 as a luxury hotel and resort. In June 1992, a multinational consortium led by Seaway Hotels Corporation became the new operators of the hotel under a long term management lease with the City of Coral Gables, and again made extensive refurbishments to the property. New lighting and telephone systems, repairs to the pool, furnishings, a complete guestroom renovation program and spa were completed. In February 2009, the hotel opened the Biltmore Culinary Academy, a recreational hands-on cooking school with classes for adults and children taught by the hotel's chefs. On April 18, 2012, the AIA's Florida Chapter placed the building on its list of "Florida Architecture, 100 Years, 100 Places. The hotel has been used as a setting in various movies and television programs, including Bad Boys, The Specialist, Shock Waves, CSI: Miami, Popi, and Miami Vice. If your into golf The hotel has an 18-hole, par 71, championship course designed by Donald Ross.Reopened in November 2007, following a $5 million investment, the course was restored and updated by Brian Silva. The original 1925 routing was retained, but all greens, tees, and bunkers were reconstructed and grassed to contemporary standards. The property again contracted Silva to provide additional improvements to the golf course in the summer of 2018. The course annually hosts the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship. Come stay at the Biltmore , the rooms are spacious and unique in style . The Biltmore is a great place for dinner or brunch having a wonderful assortment. Very nice stores to shop too. The hotel has a 12,000-square-foot spa to relax .

The property is clean and well-maintained, the staff are courteous and friendly. Everything about the experience was top notch. They also provided a toiletries kit for babies. The room came with a very small mini fridge as well. The only thing of note was that we were unable to change the thermostat and it was set to 72 F. We ordered room service and the food was excellent. The fish was cooked just right, not too firm. The pizza was honestly better than some pizza places I've had. Wings were crispy and a decent size. We also had some pastries from the coffee shop in the lobby and they were all delicious as well. Not too sweet, buttery and flakey. We also visited the pool during our stay. The pool water was very warm, but that's to be expected in the Miami heat. The ambience was relaxing and the pool side servers provided excellent service. Everyone greeted you every time you walked in. From check in to the bar to the valet staff everyone was great. The room was great. Spacious, comfy bed, ac worked great. Large bathroom. The water pressure on the shower wasn't the best, but not the worst. The pool area was so chill, early in the morning. It was like I had the pool to myself before 11am. The water was warmed I believe. So nice to just lounge or chill in the water. Location is excellent. A bunch of great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance or a quick uber ride away. Will probably stay here next time I'm in town to visit family. Valet parking available. I think it's $40 per night. They have a resort fee but you also get a credit for food, uber and other perks to offset the cost. It's a bit annoying they have to charge this extra fee, but nice they offer some additional value for this charge. They did send a charge after my stay, and when I called they said it was for the mini bar. I didn't get anything from the mini bar. They quickly refunded me, but it's good to keep an eye on your CC after your stay for any random charges.

We booked a City View Executive Suite about 2 months in advance and requested quiet, high-floor, non-connecting, away from elevators. Our room wasn't ready until nearly 5pm, and we were placed in Room 329 on the 3rd floor (of 7 guest floors), steps from the elevator, street-facing over the front entrance. Room was clean, but the placement didn't match our request. Isabelle's is a highlight -- excellent breakfast (eggs, sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal, power shots). Room service exceeded expectations: the chicken soup was top 5 I've ever had. Complimentary happy hour was also great (house Chardonnay was surprisingly good). We also received a $50/day F&B credit and breakfast for two (worth noting: breakfast can run $80-$100+ for two if paying out of pocket). Big downside: noise -- late-night piped-in music (called around 2-3am), loud Commodore bar vibe, nearby construction, and 1.5 hours of drilling next door on our last day. Shout-outs to Christina Strong (front desk--proactive and empathetic), Lucas at Isabelle's, and Steve (bellman) -- all excellent. Amazing walkable area (Koko, Narbona, waterfront paths), but room placement and noise management didn't match the Ritz price tag.

Sandals Barbados: A Culinary Paradise Meets Private Pool Luxury…read more Sandals Barbados is one of those rare resorts that delivers on every promise and then some. From the moment my wife and I arrived, we felt the unique energy of the place--lively yet refined, romantic yet full of opportunities for fun and exploration. The grounds are stunning, with perfectly maintained tropical gardens, winding walkways, and views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea that seem almost unreal. Everything about the design feels intentional, from the placement of the pools to the cozy seating areas that invite you to linger. What truly makes Sandals Barbados stand out, even among other luxury all-inclusives, is the sheer scale and variety of its dining and bar options. We've stayed at resorts before where "multiple restaurants" turned out to mean two or three different menus rotated through the same kitchen. Here, each restaurant feels like its own standalone establishment--complete with its own décor, atmosphere, and specialized menu. Over the course of our stay, we enjoyed everything from fresh-caught grilled fish and authentic Caribbean jerk chicken to expertly prepared sushi and fine Italian dishes. The flavors were vibrant, the ingredients fresh, and the presentations beautiful. Breakfast alone was a treat--whether you wanted a casual beachside start with pastries and coffee or a hearty made-to-order omelet with a view of the pool. Even after several days, we hadn't made it through all of the restaurants, which speaks to both the quantity and quality of choices. That's rare for any resort. The bars deserve equal praise. Scattered throughout the property, they range from lively poolside hubs to romantic hideaways perfect for a quiet evening drink. Each had its own personality--one afternoon, we'd sip colorful frozen cocktails to the sound of steel drums; the next night, we'd enjoy a perfectly balanced espresso martini in a chic, lounge-like setting. The bartenders weren't just drink-makers--they were hosts, storytellers, and entertainers, often striking up friendly conversations or recommending unique twists on classic cocktails. Their skill and enthusiasm elevated the experience beyond just "grabbing a drink." Our accommodations were nothing short of spectacular, but the crown jewel was the pool connected directly to our patio. Having our own swim-up access felt indulgent in the best way possible. Mornings began with a dip in the cool water before breakfast; afternoons became leisurely hours spent floating just steps from our room; and evenings often ended with us lounging in the pool, drinks in hand, watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink. It wasn't just a room upgrade--it was a lifestyle upgrade for the week. Beyond food, drinks, and our private pool, Sandals Barbados impressed us with its impeccable service. Staff members remembered our names, anticipated needs before we even voiced them, and seemed genuinely invested in making our stay special. From the restaurant servers who took extra care to accommodate preferences, to the pool attendants who always had a fresh towel or drink ready, every interaction reinforced the resort's commitment to hospitality. In short, Sandals Barbados is a resort where you can indulge all your senses. It's a place where food lovers can embark on a different culinary adventure every night, where cocktail enthusiasts can sip their way through expertly made drinks in settings that range from vibrant to intimate, and where the luxury of stepping from your patio into your own pool becomes an everyday joy. My wife and I left feeling both relaxed and energized, already talking about our return--and this time, we're making it a mission to visit every single restaurant and bar on the property.
