I love pollo a las brasa (also known as Peruvian chicken), the marinated meat falling off the bone coming from (ideally) a wood fired rotisserie spit. This was the main reason that I found myself with a couple friends at Inti, a pleasant small restaurant with warm welcome and attentive service. Lunch business was light. We ordered the mixed ceviche plate - a tower of impeccably fresh and beautifully marinated seafood and fish. Impressive, given the affordable price. Then the chicken came: reheated. Mood sinking, expectations not met (the accompaniments were good, especially the plantains). We tried also some chicken tamales (dry). Had the chicken come fresh off the spit, this would have been a great place, given the quality of the ceviche. While I understand the temptation to reheat the chicken, especially for lunch service when few people are in the restaurant, it just should not be done! read more

Inti is underwhelming. My co-worker recommended Inti to me one day. Maybe he liked the food, but the overall dining experience is lacking. It's not that Inti is bad, its just....dull. Granted, there were only two other people eating here when we went, so it felt like eating at an office cafeteria on a Sunday or the graveyard shift. But, it was Friday night in New York. My friend and I went here after work. We were a bit stressed out from our busy days. We would have liked to have a drink to take the edge off, but Inti has no liquor. A few comments on Inti: 1) The decor was not fun. Basically, tables and chairs in a room. 2) The food was plain. We ordered 1/2 a rotisserie chicken, which I guess was tasty, but rotisserie chicken can also be had at most grocery stores for $6.99. 3) The french fries were neither crispy nor flavorful. Think slices of potato on a plate. 4) The fried plantains were too dry. I had to drink many glasses of water to get them down. 5) Luckily green salsa was served with the meal. I used a lot of it. The lunch special is just as tasty as Pio Pio's rotisserie chicken with rice, beans, and side salad at an amazing 9.50 even on weekends. It's also a good amount of food, probably enough for almost 2 normal meals... an area where most lunch specials in Hell's Kitchen fall short if you are a big eater like me. Today I got the ceviche mixto, my favorite dish at Pio Pio and I'm glad to say it's just as fresh, plentiful, and tasty. I'm looking forward to trying more things on their menu. The waitstaff are always friendly and prompt. So glad they are closer than Pio Pio, as we live just outside their delivery range. It usually seems empty but I don't see why when Pio Pio is always overflowing with people when I pass by on a biweekly basis. Glad I found a solid ceviche source before the summer hits! read more

The seafood is excellent- both the cerviche mixto and the Corvino a lo macho. The salad is best for two. If you bring your own alcohol, there is a $10 corkage charge for wine and $1/bottle for beer. They were selling two alcoholic drinks (pisco sours and sangria). Pisco sours are the national cocktail of Peru (and Chile). It is made with pisco (a grape brandy) mixed with lime juice, syrup, egg white, bitters and ice. Lime is the dominant flavor- if you like the taste of limes, you will like this cocktail. There was only one waiter for most of the time we were there. He was really hustling around- it looked very hectic for him, but he somehow managed to do it all all (take orders, bring the dishes, clear plates, mix drinks, refill water, work the cashier...) with no delays. Went here last night to use a Groupon I had and all I can say was that the food was pretty good but the service sucked ass. It was only one server serving all the tables. He looked like he was stressed beyond belief. I went with my mom as a nice "I love you" treat and we ordered the empanadas to share; she had the banquete inti (which was missing the rice and beans) and I had the camarones inti. For dessert we had one each of the only two desserts they had. The only thing I didn't like out of the courses was the dessert. I definitely could have skipped that all together. At the end I ended up shelling out $20 to cover the tip and tax since what I wanted to give wasn't enough for him as he made it very clear. I don't see me returning to spend my money on anything full priced though. SN: I unfortunately ended up having an allergic reaction to something from the meal. I'm no connoisseur of Peruvian food but I have had the privilege of dining at Mario's in LA which is definitely the Mecca of Peruvian food outside of Peru. That being said, this stuff is good. I got delivery and ordered the lomo saltado, arroz chaufa, and a side of plantains. I don't know what arroz chaufa is supposed to taste like but I wasn't a huge fan- a bit too dry. The lomo saltado was on point though- great flavoring, crunch onions, delicious fries.... The beef was a little tougher than I would like but I would DEFINITELY order this again. The side of sweet plantains hit the spot- god plantains are good. AND THE BEST PART WAS THE GREEN SAUCE- I don't know what it is but damn that stuff is like crack. Would I order from here again? We used a Groupon for this location It was $37 for one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts. (But I had a $10 off coupon so I really paid $27-yay me and my frugal self!) Anyways...the ambiance is nice. They have sparkling water and wine on each table (should you choose to indulge in either). There are also pictures of Peru on the walls. The location was empty when we went...which is rare for a Friday night in NY. The waiter asked where we wanted to sit so we chose a small table in the middle of the restaurant. The waiter was very detailed in explaining the Groupon (he did so multiple times...which could come off as offensive or detail oriented depending on how you look at it!) The service was quick tho so no complaints there. He required we give him all our orders from app to dessert all together. I got the salmon with mixed veg...the better half got the half a rotisserie chicken which came with ff, salad, rice, avocado, and plantains. The salmon was moist but had no flavor...same for the veg. There was a garlic sauce on the bottom of the plate that was delicious. Wish they would've actually used it in the dish. Over it was very bland. The rotisserie chicken was much better and well seasoned and the plantains were delicious (of course I ate some of his food it's what gf do!). He got the flan I got the cake. Flan was much better. Overall the food was meh...but the service and ambiance were nice. Don't know if I'd come back without a Groupon tho. Simply decorated, well lit place. We gave it a try using a groupon which gave us 1 app, 2 entrees and 2 deserts. We started with the ceviche mixto...excellent! Very tasty, strong lime accents that it was cooked in gave the fish great flavor. Calamari and fish tasted very fresh. We added the spicy sauce on the table which made it that much better...runny nose goodness! For entrees we got the shrimps picante with quinoa, which had a very flavorful sauce. A little cheap with shrimp...only 4 so not very filling, but still quite tasty. The other dish was the seafood cortina, which had muscles, shrimp, fish, calamari and clams. I came to this restaurant with a Groupon for 4. The food from appetizers to the dessert was very tasty. For appetizers we got the empanandas and cerviche. For entree we had the whole roasted chicken, the fried rice, the fried seafood platter (not sure of the name) and a seafood dish with mussels and calamari. For dessert we had the tres leche. All were very yummy... There is one waiter servicing the whole restaurant but he is pretty fast! My only con would be the roasted chicken was very seasoned( almost way too salty for most). I ordered the Ceviche Mixto and the Tiradito Into. The Ceviche Mixto was good except for the calamari. It seemed there was a little too much of it and it was served in the rings instead of chopped, which would have made eating it a little bit more palatable in my opinion. The octopus and chunks of fish were delicious. I wish they served it Mexican-style in a glass though, as that also makes it considerably easier to eat. The Tiradito Into was perfect. Delectable. Mouthwatering. Really nice spices. My boyfriend ordered the Palta Del Inti which I tried and loved. We also ordered an Inca Cola and a Chicha Morada. Both were spectacular. As alcohol went, they could use some Bar Rescuing. Both the Mojito and the Sangria were WAY too sweet. The flavor of the Mango Mojito was nice - I'll give them that, but they really need to ease up on the sugar. I'm sure if you asked them to not make it too sweet, they'd be more than happy to accommodate. I was full from the two appetizers, so I didn't get a main. I did try some of my boyfriend's sea bass which he thoroughly enjoyed. He finished the whole thing. I thought it was okay. It's also possibly I just don't love sea bass as it's a fattier fish. Our waiter gave us great service. It is a bit pricey, which can almost be looked over, as the portions are adequate for the price. You don't feel like you're getting ripped off. Being a hole in the wall, this place is truly amazing. The food is to die for, especially their ceviche mixto. My gf got the Jalea and I had the corvina macho which were both delicious and accompanied each other perfectly. The price is decent and you get really big portions! The waiter was alone as other reviews stated, and there was 8 out of 12 tables occupied but he handled everyone well. Desserts were both plain and we definitely will skip next time and try one of the hundreds of dessert spots in the city. Overall I recommend and don't forget to BYOB!! read more

The food was very good. We had the Salmon Primavera and the Camarones Inti (Shrimp sauteed, shallots, cilantro, white wine and yellow pepper sauce. Served with white rice), both were very very good. As an appetizer we enjoyed the Palta Del Inti (Avocado stuffed with shrimp, onion, tomatoes and scallions) whch was fantastic. We also had plantains on the side. We had the ceviche to start and it was delicious. Perfect size and great flavors. The Lomo Saltado, which is my favorite peruvian dish was one of the best i've had. Big pieces of delicious steak and a great sauce. It wasn't on the menu, but we were still able to order it (it came to $22 for the plate - a little pricey, but worth it). Juicy tender half rotisserie chicken. Which it tasted like it came from any supermarket like key food or costco. Still delicious though. Funny thing was that the menu said whole chicken. Their rotisserie chicken is delicious!!! We always do delivery for the chicken, and an inti salad. The green sauce is killer, and it is always a good meal and fast! More recently I ate there with my parents. The food was great as usual, the chicken had to be ordered. I feel that some of the other items are a bit pricey. I ordered the ... relleno?
