But I was surprised (and disappointed) to see them want to charge me a 3% credit card surcharge if I paid with a credit card. Luckily I had cash. But.... For anyone who doesn't know: Colorado law caps credit card surcharges at 2%. Charging more than that isn't just shady--it's actually illegal (SB21-091). Businesses are allowed to cover processing fees, but they need to stay within the legal limit. I kindly mentioned this, but it didn't seem like they were willing to adjust. It's not about the small amount--it's about integrity and following the law. Support local? Absolutely. But let's hold local businesses to legal and ethical standards, too.

Walked in the door and was greeted almost immediately by a friendly staff member who asked what my children would be interested in and offered up some of her own suggestions, even leading me to those departments inside the store. Wide variety of decently made toys - not the plastic crap that Target and Toys R Us sells. Staff was very friendly and offered FREE gift wrapping. There's even a "birthday club" for kids. An excellent addition to Broomfield and one we should all support! The staff and selection are what makes this a true 5 * selection. Plenty of parking and close to the RTD stop at Flatiron. This store claims to offer hassle-free returns on unopened items, but they didn't honor that promise. I drove from Denver to buy a few board game miniatures. When I got home, I opened one box and realized the miniatures were unpainted--surprising, given the price was higher than most places selling the same item. At this price point, I thought these were the painted versions. I reached out about a return and was told the owner, Charlie, would handle it later that day if I came in after 2pm. I drove back (all the way from Southern Denver), but he never showed up. The staff was rude and only offered 50% back, even though the box and item were in pristine condition. The only thing I did was gently remove and reattach a small adhesive seal--no damage whatsoever. It looks the exact same as it did when I purchased the item the day before. Advice to the owner: If the product and packaging are in the same condition as when sold--especially within 24 hours--a full refund should be standard. This is the policy you advertise above the cash register and you didn't honor it. Bad experience. Shop elsewhere.
