My 3 star review is because after all the work to assemble the pieces don't fit snug so when you try to place the adhesive sheet on the pieces shift. Until a few years ago, I was a regular at these Liberty Puzzles. I live in Boulder and watched this company develop the most wonderful wooden jigsaw puzzles. But a few years ago, I became vision impaired to the point that I could no longer drive. And unfortunately, I found I could no longer do the regular puzzles. I bought a couple of the larger piece puzzles, designed for children and did each one, then disassembled them before gifting to my granddaughter. But there were only a few adult enough in design. My granddaughter can do them with minimal help at 7. The first one I gave her, when I still had normal vision, I could do in 20 minutes. The pieces are bigger. The one I got her this year, with impaired vision, took me several hours. Just for reference. I have built dozens and gifted many. Some of ours are framed in their special puzzle frames and hang in our house. Others are on display on shelves and bookcase tops. Many have been passed along to friends and relatives. Just as I was dealing with this, it turns out that they were developing a new line of puzzles, made for those with various technical difficulties like mine or those with dexterity issues. The pieces, just as intricate with lots of whimsy units, are about twice the normal size, similar to the children's puzzles, but art themed for adults. Given the chance to sample one, as a long time customer with changing needs, I so enjoyed the puzzle, I bought more. I now have the opportunity to continue one of my hobbies, having lost so many others. Just like audiobooks, I now use for reading, I have a puzzle option back too. Right now they have some choices on their website, but I am hoping the collection will grow. Just look in the section for "Silver Edition." There are so many of us in this situation and this company has responded. If you ever come to Boulder, stop in and get a tour as I described in my earlier review. Very cool factory! Chris, the owner gave me my tour which was one of the shortest and most fascinating tours I've taken in my home state. It was the epitome of short and sweet. When you walk into the back it's like a mini version of Santa's workshop. There are long work benches with busy puzzle experts inspecting each piece before boxing them up to be categorized and shelved. And you get to walk right next the them! As you pass the experts to go into the back room, the smell of campfire is strong. When you enter where the magic happens there are laser machines hard at work cutting out the puzzles into pieces. This is also where the puzzle elves clean and prep the puzzles for inspection. I loved that I got to hang out in the workshop to browse and shop at my leisure. I also loved that everything there was made local, even the cutting machines are made in Colorado! I highly recommend stopping by. read more

OK so this will sound crazy to all the Liberty Puzzle fans, but we never heard of them. We come from the "big puzzle, big pieces" frame of mind. Easy to see, easy to place, easy to hold. We like the giant sized Ravensberger large format 300 piece puzzles. Fast forward to our happening to receive a Liberty puzzle. Oh my. It was interesting, and though we knew it would be difficult and frustrating, we decided to try it out anyway. So many times we would exclaim, "Nooo way! This fits here???" or other expressions like that. But we kept going and were rewarded with a very satisfying and beautiful finish. I would recommend that everyone do what we did when we were done, and look at the backside of the puzzle. Gorgeous!!! I was amazed at the beauty and intricacy of the patterns. And there was much more of a story to seeing the "Whimsy pieces" in the plain back than with the picture on the front. It helps to do a puzzle on a bordered board with a cover. Hi Karen W., Last year, my wife and I received one of your puzzles (Florence, Italy) for Christmas and were, immediately, hooked! We found it to be, both, challenging, entertaining & frustrating all at the same time. This year she bought me the "Yellowstone Park" puzzle and I couldn't wait to get started! Within minutes of opening the box, I was reminded of the frustration these puzzles bring. One of the greatest frustrations of my life has been the gradual decline of my, once, above average eyesight. The picture on the box, to work off, would be difficult for young people with excellent eyesight, but, nearly, impossible for this 64 year old senior citizen. Once again, we had to resort to using a magnifying glass to see the picture and that was, STILL, challenging. With such a high price point, I would have thought a larger (full box) picture or a folding (4 folds) picture could be included inside the box, with which to work. I would had given you 5 stars, if not for this issue. This issue takes a bit of the fun out of your, otherwise, fantastic product. read more

The tour guide was also very pleasant and knowledgeable...really neat to see the behind the scenes of Liberty Puzzles....I highly recommend the tour. Between last week and today, I purchased over $700 in puzzles and the only reason the review is 3 stars is because the woman who also works at the other front desk comes off as very aloof both last Friday as well as today, including with both purchases totaling $700+, never once said thank you. My mother gave me my first Liberty puzzle. My sister and I have been doing them ever since. My mother was in her 90s and a group of women from her church would come over to mother's house every other week and work on a Liberty jigsaw and eat lunch. They said if you got one piece in, you got lunch. If you got two pieces in, you got ice cream too! It was so much fun to sit with them. MY mother had a few of them mounted with glass on both sides and hung them on the wall. She was especially fond of Sue Coccia's animals.
