Absolute the worst company I've ever dealt with. They call you over and over trying to get to instal the device. The sales reps talk all nice and say everything is going to be simple. But once's it's installed the hell with you if you need help. all customer service is transferred overseas to a call center and they're of no help whatsoever. Also I had the device uninstalled over a month ago and they tried to sneak in a charge, my guess is they probably get away with it sometimes so keep an eye on your account they're stealing for sure. If it accidentally unplugs because you have to keep removing from the cold weather, they charge you twice amounting to an extra $150. You're battery will die at some point if you don't properly keep your car running in winter. After removal, they still charge you for "roadside assistance??". In what world do you cancel a service, have it removed, and they still keep your credit card on file to charge you for something you no longer have. Threw me into lockout and threw a flag with the state so my license was taken again for months until the issue was resolved. Has a constant draw so if ur not driving regularly it will kill ur battery which is considered possible tampering with the device so it throws another flag. If u live in a state where it is cold the device can freeze up. Customer support is useless. They are outsourced so they barely speak English. When I needed help with paperwork they had no idea what I needed bc they don't know how the state system works. And u are quoted a reasonable price but once installed ur upcharged for everything! I have been requesting my $165 refund since February. Prior to yesterday I made two phone calls, after that I was unable to get through on the phone line I have sent two or three chat messages 4 emails and a text. Yesterday I finally got through on the phone lines. I was assured my refund would be processed that day and I would receive a confirmation email. The only email I received was a cancellation of my roadside which is what I got from every request by email. I called again today and now it's going to be up to 72 hours for that confirmation email for the refund even be processed this company is nothing but a bunch of thieves and I don't understand how the states that regulate this continue to allow this behavior I will be reporting them to my state and encouraged anyone else to do so. read more

They will not tell you upon installation to wait 2 mintues for the restart countdown, because even though you've stopped your car engine and parked, it will make you test again and if you aren't around - ooops! your bad $80 charge. The calibration and seconds you have to blow change from time to time. Do NOT go with them even though they are "conveniently located" - there are lots of them because they've gotten so rich scamming people. Customer Serví is terrible, if you can even reach someone, and the device is designed to die without constant power from your car battery, so the 2 times I've gone away on vacation it's died, had to get AAA to jump start car (brand new battery, as I mentioned) and then you pay $75 plus local garage $30 or else go into a "lockout." Every time I ask how a person can go on vacation they say "have someone else start it for you periodically." WHAT?? I need to hire a car sitter?? I had very bad experience since the initial installation. I kept getting lock outs due to the device recording that I was not breathing into it while my car was parked in my driveway for the night. I finally had another service change the breathing device and it was still recording that I was missing to test. Furthermore, I was charged over $500 of calibration fees and lock out fees with no refund. I Finally had the device re-installed and no longer have lockouts, but supposedly I cannot prove that it was the device that was malfunction. Very bad customer service in all aspects. I work 7 days a week from daylight to dark I took off early today to get my interlock transferred into my new truck the app says customer service 24/7 that's a lie they are 9 to 5 and I have called 3 times and spent more time on hold than I did talking to a real person about whatever issue at the time. I have asked several times for new equipment because the first 2 months I was having to recalibrate every week at 20 bucks a shot and then charge me 75 bucks for a lockout fee when I wasn't even locked out ands they started my lease 2 weeks after I had the device installed and put my credit card on auto pay after I told them not too. In my experience, it is almost always their issue, not mine. I self-installed mine, not mandated, and somehow they can't figure out that fact. First they tried not to honor the coupon I had and now every time i try to download a copy of the lease it says "PDF failed to load" I've had the lease emailed to me, tried to download it from the website on my computer, and tried to get it from the intoxalock app on my phone. There is a problem with the document on every device, and every application i try to open it on. I tried just uploading it to the DMV directly and it gave an error saying there was a problem with the document. Intoxalock will not accept that the problem is with their document and they keep saying the problem is mine. Theres no way I can request my interlock license now because of this horrible company. I was getting ahead of my DMV requirements, DUI (SR-22) insurance, DUI class registration, Intoxalock, by getting it all done prior to going going to the DMV for my restricted license. Intoxalock received a notice from the Sacramento (Mandatory Action Unit) that I did not qualify, 10 days prior to installation. Even though Intoxalock knew this ahead of installation, they never let me know and went ahead and allowed me to install it. My first appointment with the DMV resulted in a denial of my "restricted license" as the certificate for the installation date wasn't "typed in" properly. The DMV said nothing at this time indicating I wasn't eligible for the device. I had also called several times to get through to the MAU without luck. After getting the installation certificate reissued (5 days later), I returned to the DMV only to find out everything was copacetic except that I did not qualify. I finally persisted long enough to confirm this with the MAU in Sacramento. I immediately contacted Intoxalock to cancel my subscription and had the device removed. When I contacted Customer Service for Intoxalock, I was told "you are responsible for knowing your DMV requirements regarding your DUI". Full Stop!! After several minutes of insisting Intoxalock KNEW ahead of time I didn't qualify, and, at minimum, had a MORAL obligation to inform me or the installer I didn't qualify for their device (I also requested a refund of the over $700 I had spent on the device), the customer service Rep said she "was the last word" and hung up on me. Not only that, they continued to charge me for the device, an additional an additional $45 fee they are still attempting to collect 6 weeks after that conversation and having the device removed. Every review I've read, and every story I've heard (in my DUI classes) involving Intoxalock are similar. There is no accountability or adequate customer service regarding ANY issue, administrative, performance, or customer service assistance, with Intoxalock that warrants anything but a vote of "NO CONFIDENCE", 2 thumbs down, or a ZERO STAR review. They operate as a monopoly without regard to the customer and pray on the anxiety , uncertainty, and lack of cohesive/consistent information available to the DUI customers who are just trying to comply and do the right thing to avoid further complications and problems with the gauntlet of requirements the State of California and DMV lay before them. I had a DUI in Wisconsin in 2010. The only moving violation I've ever had, besides an illegal u-turn. This year, 2024, I finally decided to start driving again after moving back from Minneapolis. I recently had this POS installed in April. Since then, I've spent an upwards of $1600 in extra charges because it malfunctions ALL THE TIME. I've gotten stranded so many times, one time over 2 hours away from home. Their customer service is beyond sub-par, and utterly and completely unhelpful, and uneducated on what they service. I'm a waitress, and qualified for the financial hardship pricing. I have not drank in several years, and would hope the average person knows you can't use mouthwash or anything containing alcohol. I had it towed and serviced yet again on 7/23/24, and it did it again the next day. When I called, they are trying to charge me another $83, and said, and I quote, "it must be the food you're eating". I reported them to the BBB, and I don't know what else to do. They are beyond awful, and it's a scam. I did my time years ago for this, paid a huge fine, and was afraid to drive for 14 years because of what I did. read more

Intoxalock = Incompetence. I contracted to have my ignition interlock installed through Intoxalock. I had it installed on Nov 7. Later that day I went to DMV to get my license. They refused the certificate from Intoxalock because of a technical error. I requested a replacement certificate on Nov. 8. It can not be faxed or emailed. Must be sent as hard copy with stamp. Was told it would arrive in about 7 days. Nov 16 I called intoxalock. They said that it went out on Nov. 9. Nov. 21 I called about the replacement certificate. I was told that the request for a replacement had not been processed and that it would go to the compliance department that day and would arrive in about 7 days. If it arrives in 7 days that it will be a total of 3 weeks that I have not had a license and been able to drive because of gross incompetence of Intoxalock. Started when I had my device installed in January into a new car. The technician started the job and refused to finish installation because it was too complicated had to have my car tower (at my expense) to another tech service center. Finally was installed but was installed wrong, went through months of lock outs and paying thousands of dollars until I received 2 lock outs in one month and rmv was going to take my license for 10 years for a faulty device. Finally found a service tech who knew what they were doing and they found device was installed wrong. Intoxalock still did not take responsibility, basically told the tech he was lying and they were not reimbursing any of my thousands of dollars of unwarranted lock out fees. Rmv hearing decided the device was faulty and I had done my due diligence in trying to fix the situation so did not take my license but i had to hire a lawyer to supoena my records because intoxlock wouldnt give me my personal logs without a supoena which cost me 1500 dollars. 4 days from my 2 year completion my of 2 years my lease expired so I renewed and went to get calibrated but the service center said I had an expired lease and they could not calibrate resulting in a violation and a 6 month extension. Rmv said they would not extend if intoxalock would write a letter saying that they did not receive the lease sign but did send a conformation email so it was an issue on their end so I am stuck with a 6 month violation unless I appeal with the board of appeal and spend another 1500 on lawyer. It was installed without my consent, he was on file as the registered owner, but apparently that doesn't violate any laws in Texas. (blows my mind) However, he went to jail again, and called intoxalock to inform them that I was the SOLE owner of this car and was attemping to retrieve it, my ownership was ignored. I have been fighting with intoxalock for 6 months to remove the device from MY car, that I have government documentation of ownership on! I have nothing to do with the court order for the device! I have been lied to, spent hours on the phone, paid fees I didn't owe so my car didn't get locked out by this company, and have been disrespectfilly by management when voicing my rights. Please be very aware of how greedy this company is. I have my device removed and paid my final payment...they are still charging me for road side assistance every 2 weeks. When I paid my last payment January 19th it said "once your device is removed and your balance is paid your account will close." I read that whole faq page and never came across anything that said I had to personally reach out to admin by email to cancel roadside assistance charges. My account is still open, there is no way to remove it and the customer service rep said there's nothing she can do. A family member had the misfortune of needing to use this company. Over the 2 yrs that our debit card was on file with the company, we were charge with at least 10 lock out fee's of $75/each. Calling the company to discuss these fee's was a waste because they were certain that they would never reverse a charge, no matter what the reason. The car that had the interlock device was not used very often and even if it was, there was always a problem. A lock out or some code on the device that required a very long call to the company for help. We had to replace the starter on the vehicle and got charged a lock out fee because the battery died while at the service center. We replaced the battery a few months ago, due to the constant draining of the battery from the device. I could go on and on with all the difficulties we have had. Customer Service is useless and uncaring. It was finally time to have the device removed. Called intoxilock to schedule the removal and in trying to get the car to the shop for the removal, the battery was again DEAD which means a lock out. I called Customer Service, who unlocked the vehicle but the new battery was too drained. We had it towed to the removal appointment because we were desperate to get it out of the car. Once the intoxilock was removed and the battery charged, we havent had a problem with the car. Today, I check my debit account and see that Intoxilock charged us another $75 fee. I immediately called them and was told that there is nothing they could do and the lock out fee is part of the contract and we cannot have that money back. Pls note that when I called to schedule to removal, Intoxilock charged us $66 stating it was the removal fee, not to mention the $155 fee at the auto center to pay the mechanic to remove the device. So to get another $75 charge today blew my mind. I intend to write a letter to the State of NH to let them know that the company they contract with is taking advantage of their customers. I confirmed there was NO installation fee bc they were charging slightly more than other companies. He lied to me. Directly. He said it was $47.50 twice a month and no other charges. I was then informed at the shop I took my car to that there was an installation as well as a leasing fee. I literally only went with them bc of that info and so he would stop calling me and I could be done with it. I run 3 businesses, this is bad business. Violated for error codes COMM 54 and ERR 2 Stranded in a parking lot with error codes COMM 54, ERR 2 on 02/26/2023. Did trouble shooting over the phone with help desk. Eventual fix was disconnecting the negative on car battery and reconnecting. Was told I was ok and needed to do nothing.. No paperwork of incident would need to be submitted to state because no lockout occurred. Violated with tampering/circumventing and currently re-revoked as of 05/14/2023. Was not told those error codes would show up on report as tampering. Had I known I could have been proactive with the state of Michigan to report the incident. Was told by Intoxilock 2 weeks ago that their compliance department would reach out to the state of Michigan and report my innocence regarding the situation. Was told a letter was sent electronically to the state 2 weeks ago only to find out this week from a supervisor named "Shawn" on 05/23/2023 that "they don't do that" that there never was a letter sent to the state of Michigan proving my innocence nor will they be sending one even though all last week on recorded lines ( all their calls are supposedly recorded) I was told their compliance dept DID WRITE A LETTER ON MY BEHALF AND IT WAS TRANSMITTED TO THE STATE ELECTRONICALLY ON 05/16/2023. IT WAS ALL A LIE. I reached out to Intoxilock compliance and admin via two emails only to be met with zero reply or help. This company needs to be sued in the form of a class action lawsuit. I will be reporting this to the FTC and the BBB. I have been revoked/suspended since 05/14/2023 and I'm in danger of losing my job because I have no way to get there for something that was 100% not my fault. Why wouldn't they tell me on the phone the day of the incident ( 02/26/2023) those error codes would show up as tampering. They must know this right? Was told I was good to go and nothing needed to be done or submitted to the state of Michigan. This company is the definition of evil, malevolent, and dishonest. If a mistake is made on there end and you get reported for a violation; they will not own up to their mistake and help you correct the situation. They will provide you no documentation on trouble shooting incidents and they will lie and tell you letters were sent to the state by their compliance dept just to get you off the phone. This company made me a victim. It's now all up to me and my attorney to get this situation corrected and of course that process moves very slowly and I'll end up being revoked/suspended for 3 months for something that wasn't even my fault.
