Six months ago, my elderly mom was starting to show signs of difficulty walking with her walker because of an old hip injury. I made a call to her geriatric physician to ask about a motorized chair, & they sent a prescription to this organization. Gohar contacted me immediately to ask for my mom's height & weight & whether she is left or right handed, so they could match her with the proper chair. She also texted me pictures of exactly what the chair would look like, which was so helpful! True to the time estimate she gave me, a few weeks later they received an approval from Medicare & contacted me. They scheduled a delivery date a few days later & said there would also be training for my mom to learn to drive the new chair. The tech who delivered, Ben, was SO helpful, & SO patient! Ben helped my mom get in the chair & adjust the foot rest, then showed her how to use the buttons, how to manuever it & how and when to charge it. She was as nervous as any first time driver, but he answered all her questions & adjusted her seatbelt, & took all the packaging with him, & did not rush his visit at all. Ben was very warm, & very calming for my mom's nerves. After a couple weeks of tentatively practicing, my mom thought that the acceleration was faulty because it was so slow going around corners. I called & requested a service call, & they were happy to do it. Then I received a text, asking for my mom to just try accelerating more through her turn, bc the problem likely was not a faulty chair. Sure enough, that did the trick! Between Gohar, Ben, & the service request, everyone here was so consistently warm & patient & understanding. The motorized chair has helped my mom get around so much easier, & painlessly. A little over 2-years ago, the nursing home I was in made arrangements for a motorized medical bed to be sent to the care home I was transferring to. The company they used was Intracommunity Home Care, Inc. The wrong size bed was sent, so they had to replace it, and the replacement they sent was broken. I was told parts would only be a few days, but it was weeks, and when the parts came in, they were the wrong parts. I had many interactions with the company over the multiple weeks it took to get my bed working, and they were rude and unapologetic. They tried to blame me for the broken bed, and everything else that went wrong. I wrote a review at Google.com, Better Business Bureau, and Yelp.com, and the owner of the company called me and said if I did not take the reviews down, she would send someone to take the bed from me, knowing I am disabled and bed bound. She said I had 24 hours to provide confirmation all reviews were taken down. Current date, I needed a new mattress for my bed. I liked the mattress I had, and I bought it from Intracommunity Home Care, Inc., so I thought I would call and ask for a replacement. First person I spoke to said "sure, I can do that, I can have the new mattress delivered in 2 days". Then, 1/2 an hour later I received a call saying she was mistaken, they cannot get the mattress and unsure of when they can. Two weeks later I called again and spoke to a different person. This person told me again, no problem, let me get some prices for you and I will call you back. Call back I was told prices are higher then originally thought, but will check again to be sure. Next call back I was told they cannot get a mattress for me. They have no vendors that carry the mattress I need. Keep in mind, this is a medical supply company, and I am asking for a mattress for a motorized medical bed. I found the mattress at Amazon.com, and a medical supply company said they have no vendors that can provide a replacement mattress? Next, I need to replace the right rail on my bed. I bought the bed from Intracommunity Home Care, Inc., so that is who I called, and again I was told they cannot help me, the best they can do is give me the phone number of the manufacturer. I asked them to send me the date purchased, make and model of bed. When I looked for a replacement rail for the make and model they gave me, nothing matched. I had someone take photos of all the stickers on my bed and turns out the make and model they sent to me was incorrect. If you need medical supplies, stay far away from this company. read more

Their experience personnel help me choose an appropriate wheelchair. And weeks into my injury, they switched out my wheelchair for a different one, since I was recovering nicely. I just filed a BBB complaint as well but i am also posting this review in case it will help others to avoid this business. To make a very long story short, my father required a 6L at home oxygen concentrator. The hospital that my father was at sent in a prescription clearly stating that he needed 6L. Intracommunity sent us a 5L. Customer Service "Crystal" refused to own up to her mistake and wouldnt transfer me to a manager. Customer service "Donavan" who was the only actually helpful person finally connected me with "Geraldine" and for a second i was hopeful that she was going to be able to help me. Not only was she not helpful but she accused me of falsifying a purchase of an actual oxygen concentrator for my dad and then asked me for the name and number of the place i ended up buying the product from so that she can call them and confirm. If in fact i can prove i was not faking it... She could then help me with a resolution. I refused to provide her with those details because i did not feel like justifying myself to her. Also... Who would make up a story like this? And then..... SHE HANGS UP THE PHONE ON ME! I never once lost my professionalism with her and kept my composure at all times. Yes i was clearly upset.... But i never stopped being professional with her. After this manager Geraldine hung up on me.... I call back only to be routed back to Crystal. Ultimately.... I dont care about the $990 that this place swindled out of me. I am more upset with the way i was treated as a paying customer. Also... I am concerned for other elderly and critically ill patients that are their main customers who probably are mistreated by these people on a daily basis. To the owner.... Kingsley R.... If you ever want to connect with me i am happy to have a call with you. It wont be able the money. I just want you to hear about my experience and perhaps you can retrain your staff. I spoke with Geraldine personally as there were some issues with my insurance. She helped me resolve all issues I had and had the equipment delivered the very next day. These people delivered a 24 inch chair to a 38 inch wide person, called it good, and tried to bill medicare for a years rental. When called out on their behavior, they picked up their chair and made no effort to correct their clear mistake. Do not do business with this organization or you will know regret. read more

My family and I had an awful experience with Intracommunity Home Care. They are the most insensitive and rude not considering our grief. After we lost a loved one, we got a call from Geraldine who asked to get a wheelchair back that we didn't need anyway but the way she talked to us and her tone that ordered to get it back asap was insulting. They were even expecting a gift/tip from us and I am sure they didn't even pay for it since it was covered by insurance. I definitely won't recommend it and plan on following up with the insurance company to make sure it is returned properly. read more

I'd give a zero if I could. They gave us a wheelchair through Medicare and the battery died in 6 months. They replaced the battery and now the chair isn't working. They say they only repair or replace if the chair breaks down within a year. So what are we supposed to do for the rest of the four years until Medicare approves another chair? Smells like fraud. Medicare said they are supposed to assist us in repairing the chair . They refuse to assist in any way. read more

My friend has to be on oxygen, but her insurance would only pay for those big tanks. She was afraid to leave the house. Thanks to Intracommunity Home Care, we were able to get her an oxygen concentrator. It changed her life! Other places were giving us the run-around. It was Geraldine that knew how to cut the the red tape and make it happen. The delivery person did so much more than deliver the concentrator. He was very helpful and patient in making sure she could get the most use of the equipment. They even followed up to make sure everything was OK. This company is so unprofessional don't understand how they are still open. I called to find out what was going on why they were picking a wheel chair that a loved one was using. The so called manager had a nasty nasty unprofessional attitude. I was trying to explain why they couldn't pick it up. She over talked me and told me that I didn't want to go there when I said I was going to contact my attorney and asked to speak to her manager. I hope they record the calls because I will be writing to the owners of the company, medi cal and the bbb about the bad experience I had. I called back once I was hung up on and another lady answered the phone, she too was rude and I was asking for more information and she hung up. I mean no respect when dealing with a loved one that has a disability and/or sick. I was trying to explain where my loved one was and she started over talking me. I then said I will contact my attorney and she had the nerve to say, I work for the government my job is secure and you don't want to go there. I called back after she hung up on me and the other lady was disrespectful to and she hung up. Is this the way they run the business there with people that are in need. Intracommunity Home Care went so many extra miles to help my mother-in-law get a portable oxygen concentrator. Her doctor's office was having a hard time replying in a timely manner to give her a prescription for the device, so Geraldine at IHC called the office to aid the transaction. After the prescription came through, they made an appointment to thoroughly explain how to use the device, and called back several times to make sure everything was going well. They thought of things my MIL might want before she even brought it up. What's really hard to express is how comfortable they made her feel during the whole process. In the weeks that followed, my MIL called us to tell us that she was using her increased ease of mobility to get out in her garden and to take walks around her neighborhood. At a business that is centered around emergency situations I am very pleased that the quality and level of customer service this company has to offer is at the highest! I can't speak for any of the other reviews but for me it set the bar! I came in to purchase a walker for my grandmother-in-law and was greeted by a sweet lady named "Lily" (I believe). After interacting with her for a short period of time I knew I was going to be taken care of as she was very knowledgeable and showed genuine care/concern for my ordeal. Not only was she kind and attentive to my needs, but she took her time to go over all the different equipment/products they had for sale. Not only was Lily's customer service skills on point but her sales skills were impressive too! She actually up sold me on a wheel chair too along with the walker I originally came in for. Their prices were also competitively less expensive than other medical suppliers; I assume due to being a smaller company (works for me!) :) All in all, office was great, products were affordable, customer service from Lily was the icing on the cake! Oxygen concentrator delivered when promised but oral instructions were cursory and there were no written instruction. in less than 10 minutes of operation, the yellow warning light went on. Called the company and they said a replacement would be sent out tomorrow. It seems that no one checked the unit before delivery. read more
