We ended up having to ask another guest for help. The property was pretty dead. The steam room wasn't turned on, so we had to figure out how to do that. Majority of chairs by the pool were ripped up or rotting. Dirty towels were overflowing from their baskets. It's advertised that food & drinks will be served by the pool. There was no staff by the pool the entire day we were there. The pool bar ended up being closed, but there was no communication as to why. We had to walk from the pool to the main restaurant for drinks and food, which is a fairly steep walk. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the host was not informed as to how we could take food to go or how to answer questions regarding the menu. Our order and bill ended up being wrong 3 times. All in all, for the amount of money that was spent - the experience was very poor and disappointing. The only redeeming factor was the beautiful view.

I came in for Botox and fillers and later returned for a follow-up appointment. Beth discussed what…read moreshe planned to do at the follow-up, but never discussed any associated costs beforehand. When I checked out, the receptionist specifically told me there was no charge. I've had follow-up appointments with other doctors over the years where there was no additional charge, so I had no reason to think otherwise. Later, her office contacted me saying they had forgotten to charge me. I asked what the amount was, but my card was charged before I was even told the amount. Only afterward did they text me that it was $750. That amount had never been disclosed to me or approved by me beforehand. I asked them to refund the charge until I could speak with Beth and understand what had happened. When Beth called, rather than acknowledging the obvious miscommunication, she told me it was my responsibility to ask what the treatment would cost. She also said that because we had been having a personal conversation during the appointment, she hadn't gone over the pricing. I disagree. A patient shouldn't be expected to know what a medical provider is going to charge. Pricing should be disclosed before treatment so the patient can make an informed decision. There was another issue with the treatment itself. I had specifically raised my under-eye area by text and again during the follow-up, and it was part of what we discussed addressing. Beth ultimately did not treat that area. When I raised it afterward, she said it would have required a different type of injection. That was never explained to me during the appointment. If the treatment plan had changed, I should have been told why and given the opportunity to decide how I wanted to proceed. What was most disappointing was how my attempt to resolve this was handled. Rather than trying to work through the miscommunication, Beth repeatedly characterized me as "argumentative" and ultimately told me, "I am discharging you as a patient because you are being so argumentative." I was asking for an explanation and a fair resolution regarding a $760 charge that had never been disclosed to me beforehand, as well as an explanation for why part of the treatment we had discussed wasn't performed. I cannot recommend this practice.

No, but seriously, with the magnitude and amount of massage service providers in the greater Asheville area, many of whom offer Groupons and the what not, it should serve as a reference that I am willing to drive nearly an hour to have a massage from Lynelle at Synergistic Bodywork & Massage. I mean, DAMN! Someone told my wife about Lynelle, and after her massage she came home raving about how incredible, how amazing, how enrapturing the whole experience was. A few weeks later when my body shut down with a nearly crippling tension in my neck and elbows, she booked me a massage with Lynelle. I protested! "But I can see one of my other favorite masseuses here, and they're only a 5 minute drive away! Just let me buy a Groupon!" She insisted, and I relinquished. I'm thrilled that I did. Lynelle sat and spoke with me about my needs, my habits, my life. Next we progressed to the massaging. This trip was very much focused on my neck, and after much work, the muscles that were once seized became limber and fluid again. I was saved. Since my initial visit with Lynelle I have made the pilgrimage to Synergistic Bodywork & Massage multiple times. Each time has been better than the last. It's quite clear that she is getting familiar with my body, and working out troubled areas so that they no longer vex me in any manner.
