LK Bennett clothing is perfect for my work wardrobe, the dresses and suiting pieces are conservative enough but still have a decent amount of sex appeal. The selection of blouses and skirts is varied enough that I could practically live in their clothes, and not just at work. During my most recent visit I spotted a couple flirty party dresses that I restrained myself from trying on. I did however try on every other dress they had in the store in my size. Which leads me to my next point; the service here is fantastic. I grabbed half a dozen pieces in an 8 and started to try them on. Three dresses in I realized they were too big, the very nice saleslady stuck her head in my dressing room to see how things were going and agreed I needed a 6. I said "I think I'll get dressed and take a look around for things in a 6", she responds "Oh, don't worry, I'll grab what we have". She brought me every dress they had in my size. Once she had those in my dressing room she set about finding complimenting pieces (a belt here, a blazer there....). They were all very helpful and gave their honest opinions on fit and style. The only thing I didn't love about this store was how small the dressing room was. I had two shopping bags already, plus my coat, jeans, boots, sweater, belt, tshirt, and purse, my stuff alone filled up half this tiny dressing room. Add a dozen dresses, three pairs of shoes, a couple skirts, a blazer, and cardigan, I was almost getting claustrophobic. It's a good thing the sales staff stopped by often enough to take away pieces I knew I didn't want. I left with a sexy pair of loafer inspired heels, a silk dress I can wear all year 'round, and a bright pink leopard print dress that is incredibly comfortable as well as flattering. All that and it was an enjoyable experience. I'm still in love with LK Bennett.

Service is spot on, inventory is solid, and the merchandise is very good quality. While leather soles do wear quicker than man-made soles, there's something special about the feel of all leather. I think I'm still too young for some of the clothes that seem more to attract the 40-something's than the 20 and 30-something's, which is probably why my mom and her friends salivate over L.K. Bennett dresses, skirts, blouses, jackets and flats. Being in this store makes me feel like I'm in Europe until walking outside the store, which is a plus. There's something very special about driving less than 10 miles to feel at least 7 hours away airtime. They also have a traditional outlet that's pretty great, too!

I HAVE to get my kids' uniform stuff here, so I'm stuck. The uniform clothes are made of some icky polyester blend instead of cotton. The sizing of the clothes makes no sense as my 8 year old is now wearing a size 12 in their stuff and a 8 in all other clothes. I have come in here looking for a specific size only to find that they don't have it. When I ask if they will be getting in it, I've been told to leave my phone number and they will call me when it comes in. Well, I'm still waiting for a call for those shorts I wanted last fall. They do have some unique stuff if you are looking for a gift for a teenager - jewelry, slippers, lots of stuff with Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South on it. So if you have plenty of time, you should shop for that stuff here. Otherwise, see if you can get your uniform stuff at another store or better yet from Lands End. If you are doomed to the uniform experience, make sure you bring a book or something else to kill the time you waste standing around waiting for help.

located right above alixandra blue in downtown hinsdale, this is the sister store to alixandra…read moreright down the street. while alixandra is relatively casual, i would call hollis it's upscale sibling. clothing here is higher priced and i would think it uncommon to find anything below $100. that being said, the owner of this chain of small boutiques has a wonderful eye for fashion and everything is always beautiful and on trend. brands such as nicole miller, hale bob, and joie can be found here. it's a small little space, wonderfully organized and clean, and filled with gorgeous clothes. plus, everyone is always lovely and helpful! when my mom found a lush cashmere sweater she just had to have for christmas, they had convenient little notecards made up for wishlists. & they kept them at the store so when i went back with my dad a few days later, they simply pulled up her notecard, found the sweater, and rang us up. took less than 5 minutes! (i would say my dad was seriously impressed... and relieved.)

For a boutique, their prices are totally reasonable and the salespeople are friendly.
