Disappointing experience yesterday. have not been to Inverness in a year and was excited to be there. several beers on tap that I was not familiar. I asked bartender for a sample of the Belgian Wit and was told I would hve to pay $3 for a five ounce sample. I did not want five ounce but a quick taste. bartender said they are not allowed one ounce samples. only brewery in America not providing samples to customers before paying $7+ per beer. While atmosphere is awesome, not great customer service. read more

I really can't comment on the beer as they offer nothing for people with gluten issues but the atmosphere was once nice, has been overrun by children who literally run into your space, knock things over and it's just way too crowded even outside during a pandemic. There is no crowd control, no enforcement of masks or distancing. Even the staff at the food track weren't properly wearing masks. The food was nothing to write home about, it was mediocre at best. I am just thoroughly disappointed at the lack of health protocols not being followed. Posting signs is meaningless when you don't actually encourage people to follow them. read more

Been twice now. Terrific farm brewery on gorgeous estate. Has a food truck with pit beef and turkey. Nachos too amd a big old pretzel. Terrific tasting room in awesome old barn. Double ipa is tops. Super disappointed in all aspects being drinks, food, ambiance, and staff. The beer is sub par yet expensive. The wait for food is absolutely insane. Worst of all, THE CHILDREN!!! If you're interested in being accosted by swarms of children and hit in the face with soccer balls and frisbees, Inverness is the place for you. Makes no sense why the owners wouldn't want to maximize space with paying customers, instead there's more kids occupying the lawn than adults! Additionally, the rudest staff in the area. You'd think being in the service industry they'd hire nice staff. Instead, they choose to allow rude, crotchety women to begrudgingly pour your beer. So so so disappointed. It is so worth it to just drive a little further and either hit Big Truck or Falling Branch. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

This place was packed on a Sunday, although the crowds were handled well. They had three bars open, it looked like everyone gravitated to the main one in the Barn - the Stables and Basement bars were empty. Friendly staff and lots of good stuff to try here. My choice was the Blueberry Plum Crisp sour, and it delivered. On the way out, I picked up a six pack of IPAs to take home. read more

I just heard about Inverness, a craft brewery on a farm. It can be hard to find as there is no signage on the road, but the big farmhouse is obvious. There is ample parking, just follow the signs, and you'll find yourself walking by some beautiful buildings into the large converted barn where the taproom(s) reside. That taproom is absolutely gorgeous. Really large (it's a barn,) lots of tables, a widescreen TV (showing the Ravens game,) space for a band to set up, and upper loft for extra seating, and another bar area downstairs. I judge a craft brewery by their selection, and theirs is great. They have a varied list to appease any beer taste, and we enjoyed a Porter and an Oktoberfest Marzen while we were there. Where they really lose a lot of street cred is their lousy food truck. They have a very basic selection, which is fine, but it is incredibly overpriced for what you get. The so-called Everything Nachos cost $15 for an average portion of small chips with cheese sauce, salsa, 2-3 pieces of turkey, and peppers and sour cream on the side (that is hardly everything in my book.) The really insulting thing is that they do not allow outside food for some unexplained reason so your only real option is to eat elsewhere and come here afterward. read more

I wish we would have stayed here all day during our trip to MD! It is a stunning place that is great to have a drink, look at the open land, and just hang. There are many seating options and a few different areas to order drinks. The food truck had great options, we shared some appetizers and it was the perfect amount. We will be back for sure!!! Amazing beer selection. As someone who loves a punchy sour, their Blueberry Lemon Cake sour is to die for. Plenty of parking available and a pretty view. Live music on the weekends which is a huge bonus for me. Recommend bringing a chair if you want to sit and hang out. Main negative is the food - average food but overpriced, and they only have one food truck so on a nice day you'll be waiting for 40+ minutes in line (and then more waiting to actually get your food). read more

This is a great atmoshpere. An old barn that is set up with a floating bar, large TV, game bags and shuffleboard. Have wood fired pizza and other items, we had pulled pork, available. Great place for a family experience. When we were there we talked to the owner and had a quick tour where they are remodeling then horse stalls into a private party area. Definitely a go to place when in the area! Lots of outdoor seating when nice weather. read more

Inverness is the kind of place that you don't want to review because you don't want to attract any more people! But that just wouldn't be fair now, would it. Inverness is like a beer oasis tucked into Northern Baltimore county. One minute you are cruising along rural country roads and the next you are sitting in a rustic barn, looking at a rolling fields, drinking a fresh ale while listening to a live band. The beautiful part is that you can easily miss it if you don't know where to look. The first couple of times that I went there I felt like it was my own little secret but someone has definitely let the cat out of the bag. Food wise there is a small food truck that serves some basic bar fare. They have a descent soft pretzel but the nachos are very ball park-esque. Lets be honest however, I didn't come here for dinner and I will view the food as a bonus and not a liability. It is a great place for families as there are huge fields for kids to frolic around while mom and dad responsibly have a beverage. There are also a number of seating areas so you can chose to be "no conversation" close to the band or move far enough away that is is just background music. read more

Every other brewery/winery I've been to they allow outside food unless it's a collaboration with a restaurant or they have their own kitchen. Aside from that the beer was definitely a little pricey. My wife and I spent a day out at the farm at Inverness Brewing yesterday with our one year old son. It is an incredibly fun and kid friendly place with lots of open space and a Bocce court. The beer is great, but equally important, so are the people that work there. We managed to somehow lose my wife's engagement ring (the beer probably didn't help). Realizing it was lost this morning, we called four hours before opening and the owner didn't hesitate to pick up the phone. She immediately jumped into action by calling her staff. When we went back to look ourselves, the ENTIRE staff set about helping us look. Thankfully, it turns out, someone turned it in shortly thereafter. This place is a true gem. read more

Have to update this to complain about their food truck. It's an absolute fiasco. They had about 30 orders that they couldn't figure out, and the cook was called out by a patron for touching raw beef with his bare hand and then using the same hand to put onion on a burger. It very much seems like they are ill equipped to handle the popularity of the beer and location (which are both fantastic). Such a great brewery with very good beer and outstanding atmosphere. Just had a poor experience here. The food situation is atrocious with very long lines for food. One food truck for what, 500 people on a Saturday night? Chaos and many annoyed people. Recommend you eat FIRST before show by up - unless you like long lines and sub par food (greasy burgers and pizza, oh wait no pizza they ran out..). The location is great and the beer is good it's just not a place you should plan on "dining" on a Saturday night. I raised the issue with an employee who was taking orders at the food van (after we waited an hour). Her response was a rude and snappy "so what do you want me to do about it?" Sh*** attitude and here I am, a simple customer with a fistful of cash I would like to give her. Inverness needs to do better or stop advertising food availability. It's not true. read more

Bottom line: tasty beer, sprawling grounds, dog friendly, BUT too many people during COVID and not enough safety protocols in place I visited for the first time this weekend and I think I may regret it. It's a fantastic dog & kid friendly brewery with tasty beer. However, I'm not sure they're doing much to reduce the spread of COVID. There were probably 400-500 people there when I went last Saturday afternoon. A live band playing, yard games, activity zones, and barely any COVID safety measures in place. There are signs everywhere to "stay 6 feet apart" which people seem to do outdoors when they space their camping chairs and picnic blankets. However indoors waiting in line to get a beer is a completely different story. There must have been 60 people crammed into this barn, shoulder to shoulder, some wearing masks and some not, waiting in line for beers. It would have been much better had they put tape on the floor and mandated 6 feet apart while standing in line indoors. The outdoor lines to the food trucks and portapotties were the same story, but at least it was outdoors so I guess that's better? The patrons and vendors "couldn't understand each other" while wearing masks so they would pull them down to place their orders. WHAT IS THE POINT OF WEARING A MASK IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO THAT? Just speak louder and ENUNCIATE! And - when you're carded to get beers they ask you to remove your mask as well. This would be fine except the people carding you aren't wearing masks when they're breathing 2 feet away into your unmasked face. I would probably love this brewery if it were non-COVID days but I pray I didn't catch COVID there this weekend. read more

This by far is the definition of a hidden gem! Great selection of beer, food was amazing, and the ambiance/scenery was something out of a movie. I love the concept of the different levels and the outdoors it had something for everyone. This place is super dog and kid friendly! Having a big fields of grass outside, you can barely recognize the fact that there are kids running around and it doesn't take away from the brewery vibe. Decided to try Inverness Brewing on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and was sadly, very disappointed. The location and grounds are very nice. The beer was good, nothing great. But where things really went downhill was getting food from the "food trailer". After placing our order and being told we would get a text when it's ready, we waited about 40 minutes (!) before we finally got the text. Then the chaos really began. Pretty much everyone who ordered in the last hour all got the same text and arrived en mass at the food trailer. They handed out two items and then just started asking what people had ordered. WTF? About and hour and half later I was handed a barely cooked cheeseburger, with nothing on it because they had closed the prep station, and a quesadilla that had been so poorly cooked the cheese wasn't even melted. As other commenters have noted, if you could bring your own food it wouldn't be that big of a problem. But they're clearly trying to keep any dollars spent on food in their pockets. Which is fine, if they'd actually cook and give you the food! We won't be going back. Too many other places that are just as nice and better managed than waste our time and money at Inverness. read more

This is a nice brewery to visit. Unfortunately I came here on one of the hottest days of the year. I met up with friends for some drinks in the bar converted from a barn. They had large fans blowing but it did little to truly cool you down. Parking is on the grass and plentiful. There was a large private party in one of the other parts of the barn, which seemed like a nice venue for an event. There is a small food truck, which luckily wasn't too busy where I got an okay sandwich. I would come back here as there was a nice vibe, just maybe on a cooler day. read more

We loved this place when it first opened, but now sad to say, it has become a Chuck e Cheese that serves beer. Our last time there (and it was literally our last time) the entire place was overrun by small children. Why do parents insist on bringing their very young children to a drinking establishment? We were forced to move several times to get out of the way of strollers. Parents were letting their toddlers run wild in the dancing area while they stood there and laughed. Meanwhile, adults who would have enjoyed dancing to the band could not because these small children were in their way. We saw may people shaking their heads, and we also saw many people (including us) leave after one beer. Hey millennials - if you want to go out and get loaded, here's a tip: GET A BABYSITTER FOR YOUR KIDS!!! You shouldn't be drinking and driving with them in your car period! And to the owners - WISE UP! You're losing paying customers to kids who are drinking juice that their parents brought with them. read more

This place is so awesome! The location is a working farm in horse country. Beautiful scenery, historic barns, bocce ball courts, corn hole boards... You can bring your kids or dogs and hang out on the lawn or take in the sights of one of the restored barns converted to bars. The beer is fantastic and always a great selection. There is a new food truck that has a new menu every weekend, including brick oven pizza. I haven't tasted a bad thing yet! Great place to get out and social distance at the same time.
