I shared my concerns with the tech/first person I saw. Apparently they did not share that…read moreinformation with Dr. Teaters. He was quick and impersonal, and spent less than 10 minutes in the room with me. He reduced my prescription despite me saying I couldn't see up close anymore and sent me on my way. No mention of the other issues I am experiencing. On top of that, of course now I cannot see with the contacts the prescribed because he reduced my prescription for some reason. He is very condescending and presumptive. I told him I was a phlebotomist and he said "oh you spend a lot of time on computers then" and insisted k be prescribed the most expensive contacts possible, stating that it would help with blue light and screen time. I didn't know that human arms were considered screens but okay. Will not return and VERY angry that I now have to go someplace else and pay out of pocket for a real exam.

What I would really like is for them to acknowledge it was their associate who made the mistake and apologize for trying to convince me it was my fault, I should have known, etc. I want to have a good relationship with this office. When I mentioned a partial refund, it was just the first thing that came to me when the manager asked about making it right (and, as my review shows, the manager just. became more angry about it.) Really I was mostly upset that I was treated by the cashier and manager, who both told me it was my own mistake. At the time I was offered a very insincere apology. I hope will all heads cooler now, they will be willing to extend a sincere one and we can rebuild that relationship. I am not asking for any money, just a sincere apology. If the owner or manager want to offer that or discuss this, I hope they reach out to me.

I am disappointed in the payment/insurance billing process. I was told today that the annual vision…read moreexam would not be charged to my vision insurance plan because it was a "medical" exam - not a vision exam. The purpose of the exam was an annual check-up. I wear contacts. The first contact trial made my vision worse. The second testing was on target. I thought I had paid the bill in full last week but today was told of another $94.00 charge. The front office handled things poorly, when I asked questions. The explanation given was that I was older, and this was the way it was done for older patients. I am 72. I don't have glaucoma. I don't have cataracts. I do have some neurological problems. I declined to speak with Dr. Jacobs at the time because I felt the need to remove myself from the situation. I respect his expertise. However, I will not be returning to this practice because of the billing methods. My husband recently had a good experience. He had his annual vision exam and purchased glasses a for a quarter of my cost using the same vision insurance. His visit was not labeled "medical". He is seven years older than I am. Live and learn.
