What a great experience. Straight forward service in a timely manner. They sprayed in the liner while I waited.

I stupidly caused a silver dollar sized burn hole in my backseat, where the seat meets the back, so…read morehalf of the burnt out circle was on the seat and the other half on the back. Took it to top shop, where I was told I'd have to source the fabric myself (their supplier) and bring it back, after which it'd be $200 to repair the burnt hole. I didn't bother to ask how long it'd take. Read more reviews here and came upon Magic Upholstery. Not a lot of reviews, but all five stars. Reading further, I decided to take another reviewer's advice and not let the location nor store front sway me. Indeed, the shop is located back from the street, so you have to look for it, but where you think 3401 is, IS exactly where it should be. The gentleman looked at my problem, said he'd simply use the extra fabric that already existed in both areas, and sew a new seam line on both areas. Said it'd take 2 hours for a cost of $90. On the appointment day, I left my car, walked to McD's, walked back 1.5 hours later, expecting to wait another 30 min. Instead, he was working on another vehicle because he'd already finished mine. The result? A perfect job. You'd never know there was a hole in that spot just an hour an a half later. He did a FANTASTIC job, in less time that he quoted for a 1/3 the cost had I gone mid-town for this service. I can't recommend Magic Upholstery enough. GREAT WORK at a FAIR PRICE!

I do not recommend Magic Restorations Upholstery. The owner,…read moreTony VanDyke, picked up my bed in September stating it would be completed in approximately three weeks. The project extended nearly six months, with repeated delays and changing explanations (illness, family matters, lack of material, new equipment, hiring help, etc.). Completion dates were repeatedly promised and missed. Throughout the process, I consistently and clearly requested that the bed be restored exactly as originally designed. Despite my precise written instructions and reference photos, he made design changes based on what he said he "liked better," rather than following my directions. Although he removed some altered elements after I objected, a border he decided to add -- and that I specifically instructed him to remove -- was still on the bed at delivery. The bed was also returned damaged and not properly reupholstered. Materials were ordered without my consultation months into the project. When I requested progress photos and a firm completion date, I was told: "I will not give you a firm date," and that other customers had been waiting longer. On February 21, after continued delays, I requested return of the bed. In writing, he stated he would drop it off, not charge a delivery fee, and "eat the remaining balance." On March 1, the bed was left in my driveway without direct confirmation or doorbell notification (despite security cameras). A bill for the remaining balance was then sent, despite the prior written statement waiving it. In his final text message, he wrote: "You owe me nothing, like I told you. I'm tired dealing with you. Don't text me anymore."
