They have strongly roasted coffee which I love, it gives me energy and pairs well with whatever you have your coffee with. Their service was wonderful as was the environment. It's located across the street from a parking lot for the Metra rail system. The interior has a fun flair that is inviting, and there is seating where one can sip a cup of coffee while reading or having a conversation with a friend if they aren't grabbing one to go. I've been to The Mug multiple times now. The staff is always friendly and helpful with answering questions. Especially for the coffee ignorant such as myself. I drink coffee, but I couldn't tell you what the different styles are as usually I just make a cup of regular black coffee at home. When I go out to buy coffee I want something I can't make at home. I've had multiple coffees here over the last month and everyone was delicious. Whether it was the Gingerbread Eggnog Latte, a Blueberry Crisp Latte, or the Dulce de leche, they were all hot and delicious. The Mug is better than the large chains that seem to have overrun the country. I know they have made a repeat customer out of me.

It pains me to say this but their quality has been going downhill for takeout orders, which we…read moreusually do on Sundays on our way back home. Three times we have ordered in the past few months and we have had issues. My favorite thing on the menu is the German 2x2x2. I love the combo of the potato pancakes, the sausage patties, and the egg. The first time of the three my issue was small, I always request cheese on my eggs and that was missed. The last time before today I was given bacon instead of sausage, which is not even an option on the menu as the dish itself is supposed to be sausage, not a choice of meat. Today, I was again given bacon (I do not like take out bacon as it does not travel well) instead of sausage patties and my potato pancakes were so burnt they were inedible. I ate the eggs and threw away my soggy, limp bacon and the black potato pancakes. Clearly there is no one running quality checks. As this is the third issue I think we will take a break on carry outs from Ned's and go elsewhere. I really hope they turn it around! We used to love Ned's!
