Coffee is as bitter at the experience. Highly judgmental staff. Some narcissistic customers are snarky and think they're perfect.

Best espresso I think I've ever had. Intelligentsia coffee was a tad watery. The food was great too, just cold when it should have been hot.

She had been raving about the food and knew I was missing out. We got there on a Saturday afternoon just after the lunch rush. We were able to get seated almost immediately. It has a quant atmosphere of a distressed store/office. The waitress we had was attentive and quick to take drink orders. She was also very thorough going over the menu and specials. Speaking of the specials, that's what I sounded good to me. It was difficult to choose, but I went with the Meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I can't say a lot about the presentation... but honestly I don't care what it looks like because I'm going to eat it. It was real mashed potatoes, with two thick slices of a delicious meatloaf. It was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend had the Black & Bleu salad. She was very please with it. For desert we got the deep fried Oreo Cookies. Okay, yes they are a carbilicious, deep fried sugar bomb... but they where so very good. The nice thing is that they are just the right size to satisfy the sweet tooth, but not so much as to make you regret it... too much. If you're in the Freeport area and looking for a nice meal in a casual setting. This is it...

Rick ordered the fried chicken - which understandably takes extra time as it's cooked when you order - not sitting under a heat lamp getting soggy. The chicken was a little dry and the breading was bland. Meal was accompanied with canned green beans, mashed potatoes that may or may not have been instant, and gravy that was packaged. I had the mushroom Swiss burger. I really should remember to ask about the mushrooms before I order one. These mushrooms were canned- which can be fine if they are sautéed or warmed in a mushroom sauce. These 'shrooms were not. And - while I should have expected it - the "Swiss" cheese was a slice of Kraft processed Swiss cheese. This from a place that is 23 miles from Monroe, Wisconsin - the Swiss Cheese capital of the world! Note to my friends who are OCD - do not sit in the first set of booths when you come in. These booths were all moved forward a few inches during a remodel - but the booth numbers on the wall and the lights above the table - which used to be centered - are now skewed to one side of the table. While Landmark was an acceptable lunch spot - we will not be adding it to our rotation of places to stop on our way to Iowa.

A place that can be loud or quiet. The menu has the basic things. Better than it looks to be honest. It's another one of these small town bars with mostly the same few locals. They have more room than expected with a few tables. Cleaner than one also expects. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail like whiskey mixed with whatever. A pretty limited food menu. It's about $6 for appetizers like the tater tots. Burgers are one of the meaty items. There's also things like onion rings. For sure it's one of the hangouts in town to watch games. This place came up as a local bar in the area on YELP. Yay to YELP! So we gave it a try. Travis immediately greeted us and had our ice cold beers (Sam Adam's Octoberfest) quickly in front of us. We only intended to have a beer but he offered us a menu and we decided to split the Brisket Burger. It was so good! Wish this place was closer to our home. Can't beat $5 ice cold Octoberfest beers in August! Travis was great, the food was great & the place was clean. Check it out! You will love it!

They offer great selection of pastries and hot and cold beverages. From what Papa and I tried, visiting this place few days in a row, we really enjoyed food and drinks. It has a beautiful fireplace with variety of games and books you can read. It offers plenty of seating area, with large couch. Including a large Quiet Room. The Quiet Room can be reserved/rented for larger groups in advance. Otherwise you can use the Quiet Room for working, studying, reading or just to sit and enjoy peace and quiet. I recommend this place if you want to try something local instead of a chain store. I will for sure be returning here. For more great content, check out YouTube.com/@AbroadTravel
