Not a luxury experience Came in tonight with my daughter to see minions vs monsters and arrived 20 minutes before the movie. The attendant told us that they still had to clean the theater and to wait. No problems so far. 5 minute before the movie started we were allowed into the theater and found the seat was broken. We pushed the button to have someone come and ask about the seat. Nobody showed up. Not to take our order, not to ask about the button push. Nothing. That's a pretty big issue when you're wanting to order food and drinks before the movie. Went up the concrssipns/ front desk to tell them about it and was told the theater is full can we split up. It's me and my young kid so that wasn't an option. Asked why the seat was broken to hear it may have been broken today but not reported. But shouldn't the people cleaning have noticed it then? They weren't told to clean the theater until 30 minutes before the movie. I was offered a refund for the tickets but it doesn't account for the time wasted. Traveling, waiting to speal with somebody, not being able to order, etc. Ultimately, the theater experience should be a fun event for the family but here, it's just not. I don't know what's going on with Cineapolis. I went for a 7 pm show to see "Is God Is" and they were still cleaning the theater. This is the first time I've seen people lined up outside the theater to go in. When I was finally seated I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come take my order. Then he asked to see my ticket "to make sure I was in the right seat". This was a first. I don't know if they're under new management or something but this was not a good look. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 1 because service is not usually this bad. I'll give it another try in about a month and update this review. read more

The Movie Star Martini was excellent. Unfortunately, the Brussels & Smoky Bacon pizza was overbaked. The crust and toppings were so crisp that there was no cheese pull or creamy goat cheese texture, and the burnt Brussels sprouts overwhelmed the garlic, bacon, balsamic, and cheeses. Disorganized and disappointing--definitely not the luxury experience we paid for. I'm not sure what happened this weekend at Cinépolis. The theater was changed without any notice--no update in the app, no posted signs. I went with two guests who have mobility concerns, and it was a real challenge for them to walk all the way to the farthest theater, only to be turned away. It wasn't clear whether we were supposed to sit in our purchased seats or not. The whole situation was chaotic, which is disappointing because Cinépolis usually prides itself on a smooth, straightforward seating process. This was a big fail. Once we finally made it into the theater, I discovered my chair was broken and my wife's didn't recline. If we're paying extra for a luxury experience, I expect working equipment and decent customer service. Honestly, broken seats shouldn't be bookable--or at the very least, they should be discounted. The food servers did their best to help everyone efficiently despite the confusion. They paused the previews and took everyone's order, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, three of the menu items we tried to order were sold out, and I was incorrectly billed for one of them. The ladies room is a mess. I have been coming to this theater since it opened; the ladies room is consistently dirty, with no toilet paper in some stalls, one of the two soap dispensers not working, and one of the two paper towel dispensers not working, along with toilet paper strewn on the floors and some stalls out of service. Please, fix the broken items and be sure the restroom is clean prior to people coming for a movie. A dirty and unkempt restroom shows poorly on the establishment. read more

Took my daughter to Cinepolis Kentlands to watch Lilo & Stitch - such a fun experience! she had the movie-themed Tropical Shake with BBQ wings and fries. I went with the lemon pepper wings and fries plus the Mangonada drink. we also shared a big bowl of popcorn ( couldn't finish it) and a strawberry lemonade. Everything was tasty and the theater itself was clean, cosy and has a great atmosphere for families. The waiter was polite and we had a help botton next to the chair that would ring the waiter if we needed anything like refill. Just a heads-up: it's a bit on the pricey side, so definitely come hungry and prepared to spend a little. but for a fun outing with good foos and comfy seating, it's worth it! read more

After all these years of living in the Gaithersburg area, surprisingly I hadn't been to Cinepolis to watch a movie ever since the renovation from the old theater many years ago. We came to watch Lilo & Stitch which was great, but this review is on the theater itself and the food experience. Based on the Yelp reviews alone I had hesitations. It looks like they've had some health violations in the past (rat infestations?) and though they've been "corrected," I'm still not sure how much confidence I can have in the environment that the food is prepared in. Nonetheless we decided to our food here because what's a movie without something to eat? I was fairly surprised by the number of options on the menu as it seemed pretty extensive. There were a range of sandwiches/burgers, handhelds, pizzas, and even dynamite shrimp. At first I didn't know that we had to press the call button in order to place our orders. If I knew I probably would have tried to order sooner but it did take 10-15 mins before someone came and by that time, we were a few minutes into the movie already so it was a bit distracting for us to place our order as the movie already started. The food itself didn't take long to get to us, maybe another 15 minutes? I decided to go with the Dynamite Shrimp, which was WAY spicier than I had anticipated (granted I have low spice tolerance) and without any sort of starchy side it was a little hard to eat alone in my opinion. The slaw at the bottom didn't really help. If you're more spice tolerant then I'd say maybe the taste was not bad but for me the spice level made it not enjoyable. I did appreciate the big cups of waters that they gave when our orders came. Now on the theater - the decor is definitely cute and aesthetically pleasing (especially when you first walk in and see the chairs and round tables - home decor goals). But as soon as I got to the hallway with the theaters (btw nobody checked our tickets?) the entire place smelled of crayons. Like a waxy, chemical, smell. It also felt a bit damp in the theater, like the air was moist. Yes I got used to it after a while but that crayon smell was heavy. The staff were extremely rude. When it was time to pay, they literally threw my bank card back at my face. They came twice to take my order -- the first time they didn't even register it, and the second time they got it completely wrong. The theatre has a weird smell like cleaned up vomit but not effectively.....Y U C K!!! . Yes, I'm a sucker for a really nice movie theatre experience with nice seats, and waiter service at my seat with a little call button to get their attention. Drinks in real cups; yummy popcorn in a tin bowl. Both refillable without us having to get up and go to a concession stand. Love it! read more

Cinepolis, where have you been? Why haven't I found you sooner than this! Nevertheless, I'm so glad that I did! You will find plenty of parking available. This was our first time here, so we were a little confused as to how it worked. There was no one scanning in our tickets, and I'm not sure why. We did purchase our tickets online. This is a nice place for a date. We saw the Bee keeper. It was action-packed and enjoyed every minute of it. Also enjoyed the reclining seats. The theater was clean. Seats were not worn out like you see at some theaters. Loved the menu setup at the seats. Where you could order your food and alcoholic beverages. What a menu and a lot to choose from. I went for the Sangria, which was very flavorful. It's not too sweet but sweet enough. The cherries tasted very freshly made. Now I love the food selections in the menu. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese. Now I was a little disappointed with that. It should have been called lobster, lettuce, and tomato sandwich because it was overpowering with all of the above, except for the lobster meat. So I won't be ordering that again. Also, the fries that came with it were very salty. We received our food in the dark, so we couldn't take pictures. Our plan is to come back at least 30 minutes before the show starts, and we can take pictures next time. I still enjoyed everything else, and my husband enjoyed his beer and his food selection. Based on the reviews, I refunded my tickets. I went in person for the refund. I didn't smell anything odd, like mentioned in a few reviews. It didn't appear very tidy but not horribly dirty. Definitely dated appearance but modern. Customer service was good, they were courteous and processed the refund with no issues. read more

First time here & we were not impressed. If you would compare this place to iPix, its not comparable, iPix is much better, and here is why: 1. Atmosphere: like a typical theater setting nothing too special , long wait of the line to get customer service & only 1 other cashier machine other than the one by the bar. 2. Cleanliness: theater seats and tables were sticky with drinks droppings & food crumbs, we had to wipe them down ourselves; bathroom half of the stalls either has problems with lock, door or auto flushing (see pictures); one of the soap dispensers was not working; inside the theater from entrance to inside smells like moldy spills. This place needs a deep clean from inside out. 3. Inside theater service: attentive; prompt BUT forgetful, 2 items from our order were never came, yes we did got our refund after standing in the long line. 4. Quality of server's knowledge: very poor, wasn't able to effectively track of customers orders; dropping drinks and food trays during showing; once by entrance, once on the stairs; had no idea what's the difference between a shot of liquor and a martini ‍ 5. Food & Drinks: salads and bowls were ok; brownie was delicious; popcorn butter overally salty; salmon overcooked; shaved ribeye tasted funny didn't taste like ribeye more like gyro meat. This was really more like a 2.5, but I'll give them a 3. Things I liked about the theater.... Great location (lots of food/drink places around to enjoy before or after the movies), clean restrooms, loved the smaller more intimate theaters, and recliners had a near lay down recline which was AMAZING (no need to fear the front row here!). What made the experience not so great was that my recliner footrest was broke. The recliner was still useable, the footrest was just slanted and leaned a bit. But the real let down is this is a food+drink experience type theater and they failed to deliver. We ordered a Hazy Little Thing (which was saw was on tap before walking in) and a rose. The guy came back 10 mins to say they didn't have the rose I asked for so I said any rose would do. When they came to deliver us was a different person that gave me some kind of red wine that was not any kind of rose and some lager, not even a heads up that they were replacing the IPA we asked for. Tried to get his attention, along with the waitress helping people next to us and even turned on the "help service" light... nothing. We weren't about to get up during the movie so at the end when they brought the check we told him our order was wrong and I should not be charged. He said bring it to the front after and they would be happy to take care of it. The ticket had the wrong items rang up so technically what he put in the system was delivered to us correctly but it was not what we ordered. It took talking to three people and no one wanting to take responsibility for it or give me a refund. At the end I finally said I'm happy to call and talk to a manager tomorrow if you can't take care of this but I will dispute this with my credit card company if you do not refund me. 15 mins later I got my refund but it was painful... not the way you want to leave after you've seen a phenomenal movie. We had great expectations of this place as a luxury theater! We planned, purchased tickets and traveled nearly an hour to get there. We were excited! Outside looks nice and the area and shopping Plaza is nice. Inside we were hit with what was maybe about old oil scent??? It's strong and is not only in the front area but near and in the theaters. We patiently waited til the 30 min prior to showtime mark to go inside the theater. A plus was that we did see crew members go inside with a cleaning cart after the prior patrons left. We perused the menu again as we had already picked what we wanted to eat. Our waitress then informed us All shrimp dishes sold out, other dishes also out!!!! Disappointed we decided on something else- For entrees- a lobster grilled cheese, a chicken blt, and an order of honey bbq wings and fries to start. Well into show time, 2 plates were brought over- wings and some sandwich it was dark but upon biting into it was the lobster grilled cheese. Atleast one of us had their food. We kept waiting for the second order and finally asked a Waiter who served a group down from us. It was he who told us there was nonmore chicken blt. And that out waiter should have told us!!!! Say what now??? I was heated. Wings were good. The lobster grilled cheese was not a grilled cheese but a sandwich with toasted bread with lobster meat. Disappointed on that front as well. We were excited to see Superman here. When we arrived we noticed a strange smell in the lobby. We figured that once we were in the theater it would be okay; however the smell in theater 7 was even worse. We came here to watch Dune 2 and enjoyed the theater. They have a great deal on Tuesday- half-price movie tickets, and happy hour until 11pm. The staff were friendly and quick to provide service. There is a button on the right side of the seat and a server will come and take your order. The seats reclined pretty far back and there is a tray in front of you (can be pushed to the right side) to place food and drinks. I recommend getting to your seat 15-20 minutes early if you want to order. This way you have time to review the menu, order, and receive your food before the movie begins. The food was average; we ordered the bang band shrimp (good) and mushroom truffle burger (decent). It was nice that the drinks and popcorn had free refills! read more

If you been to Ipic, this is some what similar. Without the pillows . The interior is nice, not your typical movie theater. Staff is friendly and helpful. I came here to see Beyonces movie Renaissance. The theater is nice. Somewhat comfy seats that you can recline, with a mini table to hold your tray. My gripe with seating is the seats are a little too close to comfort. A little spacing in between the seats would be ideal. You press a button, for waiter service. They'll take your order, and bring your food to your seat Food: ridiculously expensive. Consider eating prior. Shakes... meh... shake shack is better. Popcorn: 10.95 served in a large metal bowl, cooked in coconut oil. When I saw the disclaimer, I passed. Although, it's free refills. I ordered a burger, with taters. Burger was ok, but the taters... Child..... too salty!! Yuck Their menu could be better, I love to see more movie style food, but too each their own. The movie was great, not too loud. If anything, I prefer my local AMC Rio And If I wanna splurge, I go to Ipic. read more

This is my second visit tonight, and once again, the service was disappointing. I ordered just one drink while watching a movie, and unfortunately, I had the same server--Angie--who still seems to lack basic service skills. If your kitchen or bar can't make a drink, the least you can do is communicate that with the customer. Instead, I waited almost an hour with no update. I finally had to press the service button, and only then--10 minutes later--someone came to tell me they were missing ingredients. Seriously? That's not just poor service--it's complete disregard for your customers. Angie, if you're going to serve tables, please learn the importance of follow-up and common courtesy. I am starting to think this is done to limit popcorn refills on the "bottomless" popcorn. My son ordered a soda which he never received. Love the theater, seats, and idea but don't plan to eat dinner here. The service is horrible and I wound hesitate to say that but it has been 3 times. Out of 3. Order food, someone's never comes, it takes 30 minutes at least to get someone to tell them you don't have food, never ever get drinks. Honestly if you're coming just for a movie it's probably ok but save money and just go to a regular theater. This place is abhorrent. Note to the management - if you cannot staff for a half full to nearly empty theater why bother? Luxury? Nothing luxury here. I visited Cinépolis for the first time last week to see the little mermaid with my sister and to be frank, we were not impressed. When we arrived we were met with a strong malodor and it was so bad that my sister's stomach started to hurt and I started to feel nauseous. As "neat" and put together as it looks, the floors were visibly dirty. You could actually see the dirt buildup on the carpet and usually dark carpeting is good at masking dirt, I was appalled. I wiped down every surface because everything looked visibly soiled. I ordered nachos and my sister ordered quesadillas. Our server was friendly and attentive. The nachos weren't what I expected and were too loaded. Unfortunately, I ended up sick for the remainder of the day into the next day because of the nachos. In short, to me, there is nothing luxurious about this theater besides the option to be served food and drinks while sitting, and many movie theaters, at least in the Northeast, offer a lux level option and do a better job at making the experience feel luxurious. Ultimately, it was an uncomfortable experience for us and if I were to go to Cinépolis again, it wouldn't be this one . Thank God for my sani wipes! read more

This rating is based purely on the experience and not the movie itself. The movie was great, however it was difficult to lose yourself in the film when waitstaff is walking in and out the entire time. People ordering food and drinks during the movie is really distracting as the waitstaff has to come to their chair, ask their order, go get, bring it back etc. they also all come deliver the bills in the last few moments of the film, when the story is finally being tied together! I would not come back here to see a film. It operates more as a restaurant with a movie in the background rather than a cinema. It would work better if there was an intermission. read more

I bought a last minute movie ticket to watch the Super Mario movie with my partner on their website. They have $7 movie tickets all day on Tuesdays which is a great deal. When we arrived, no one was around to verify our ticket, but we wanted to maintain our integrity, so we waited until one of the staff members finally showed and scanned our ticket. We were directed to our theater number and instructed that we can order from our seat by scanning a QR code. The seats were not well cleaned and the tables showed some sticky substance, but I was forgiving as it didn't bother me much. We pressed the button to call for service which arrived about 20 minutes later. We placed an order as they had a Tuesday combo deal that included any pizza, 2 large sodas, and a large popcorn where the soda and popcorn was refillable. I decided to add candy as well. The food arrived about 30 minutes after and we weren't given any napkins, so my partner had to walk out of the theater to get some. Some time into the movie, we pushed the service button to get a soda refill and they were slow to move. I understand if they may not have enough staff, but do not expect luxury service as it is slow. Otherwise, the food tasted great and I would definitely come back for the pizza and drinks. read more
