Proceed with immense caution. My wife and I spent just under three hours there (after a 1-hour drive), and not only had a confirmed deal that was agreed to via handshake, but also put on paper, and all paperwork signed to complete the loan application. They had even run our card for a $7000 downpayment, and we were about to start transferring our belongings from our trade-in to our purchased vehicle, when suddenly our salesman came back to us stating that there was a "computer error" due to "learning new software" and that our monthly payment was actually going to be over $100/month higher (for 72 months) than we had already agreed to and signed-off on. The sales manager, who had obviously been involved from the start, came out to apologize for the "computer error", not taking any blame for their inability to perform 5th grade math. I was then accosted for apparently acting angrily. "You didn't have to raise your voice. There are other customers here." In my 55 years I had never seen such gross incompetence. Any sales manager with integrity, honors the deal and owns up to their mistake, even if they are going to lose some money. It's the right thing to do. My advice? Drive right on past these kindergardners. They're incapable of doing the right thing. If I could give a zero-star rating it would be giving them a hefty compliment. read more

Paid 40k for a 4Runner just a few weeks ago. I noticed a couple of chips in the windshield I hadn't noticed when test driving so l brought it to Safelite to have them repaired. They told me that the chips had already been repaired incorrectly so they would not be able to do any work to the windshield. My vehicle is Toyota preowned certified and one of the things they warrantee against is any glass repair that was incorrectly done. I brought it to the attention of the shop and my sales person. They let me know that it's my responsibility to replace the windshield and they are taking no accountability or responsibility whatsoever. I give them zero stars for service after the sale and standing behind their sale. I will not buy another car from them, I will not have any service done there and I will recommend to anyone that asks that they buy somewhere else. read more

I gave them $500 down on a new Rav4 back in November of 2021, and I actually purchased the car on January 3. I purchased the car. The $500 has disappeared. And no one will help me. Seven weeks later, and my $500 is apparently sucked up by this hideous dealership. Additionally, the sales person, Alexis, said that it was a 2022, when in fact it was a 2021. We did get a decent price on a RAV4 but I'm done bringing my 2016 Tundra back to them and my wife won't be bringing her RAV4 back there either! Left my car for almost 24 hours waiting for a call when my car is ready. No call, so I decide to go in finding out my car was ready since the early morning. They also failed to apply my pre-paid coupon and am told they would have to review this with someone who can approve. Approve a prepaid discount? I then try to complete the survey they sent, but it's a link listing cars for sale. I ask IRA through messenger and they respond with an issue from last year....I try and tell them that I only need a link to do the survey and they respond with "anytime a tire is removed and reinstalled we do a mandatory road test to make sure work was performed correctly". Has nothing to do with my request and was an issue a year ago. The technicians are great but it's unfortunate that they have to relay on some to get more business. read more

I bought a used car through Ira (then Prime) Toyota way back in fall of 2020, and when I bought it I noticed that the back hatch handle wasn't working right and was sticky. They took it back and a tech looked at it, said there was some gunk in there and that some WD-40 had fixed it. A week later, obviously, it starts acting up again. At the time I figured, well, used car sales is used car sales and I get what I get, but I also felt vaguely cheated. So why is this a five star review? Well, I went a year and half dealing with this problem because I never wanted to pay the couple hundred bucks or whatever to fix it, me being pretty broke through most of the pandemic, until last week when it was frustrating me so badly I thought "screw it, why don't I call the dealership and tell them I think I was cheated and that they should fix it". Much to my astonishment, the used car manager Jeff had no problem acknowledging that if the tech made an oversight and didn't notice a problem with the latch, that was on them, and they should fix it. This morning they took the latch assembly apart and noticed that there was some bad rust up in there that must have been there the whole time, and they replaced it for free in only a couple of hours. I'd never have expected that level of integrity from a car dealership, and I can say happily that I would buy from Ira Toyota again. read more

It took over 6 hours the day of purchase, the vehicle (2021 Rav-4 Hybrid) died on me 4 times and they never found out why. Each service visit took hours with NO RESULTS. Beware of this dealership! I purchased a car in Dec 2021 from Eric Godin and had a great experience. I decided to buy another car in Feb 20203 from John Levesque and it was awful. They won't print out paperwork for you to review and will overcharge you. James Ellis is a finance manager who should be fired. He doesn't answer his phone or return emails. I was smart enough to record a verbal conversation re: getting reimbursed for being overcharged for services. They won't reimburse me or follow-up with me in anyway at all. Experience buying a car here was not easy. Dealer was not at all knowledgeable about the car and repeatedly referred me to YouTube videos on how to operate some of the features. The dealer also tried to sell me a remote starter (for $1000) when the car actually already comes with the feature. Then after boasting how the model was the most reliable car on the market, the finance dept. tried to sell me every extended warranty possible and got bullish when I declined. On top of it all, the finance dept. took 3 hrs to "process an inquiry" which ultimately was bull as there was a freeze on my credit. Then tried to get me to do Toyota financing at 4.5% interest when I already had a loan approved for less than 3% interest. All in all a horrible experience. I will definitely be going to a different dealer for any maintenance. read more

Matthew Fecteau was a horrible salesman to work with an made some bold misrepresentations related to a car he was trying to sell. I was up front prior to my arrival at the dealership that I wanted to look at their GR86, as hard to find at a dealer as most dealers have little inventory, but ultimately, I did not want the one they had as a base model automatic and I was interested in a premium model with a manual transmission. I noted this to Matt Fecteau again as I was leaving and that I had a couple of other vehicles I was considering but if I got a GR 86 I would plan on ordering. He said on this vehicle what if we knocked off money and suggested they could knock of $2,500. I was shocked and noted I am surprised to hear this in light of current market. I said either way though No as I want what I want. He then suggested they could put leather seats in this car, add the upgraded stereo, and even add a sunroof (a feature) not even offered on the higher trim. Felt like some tall tales to be sure but why would someone be so bold to say things like this. I again said shocked to hear this (and honestly it felt almost insulting as it seemed nonsensical). I said no. I want what I want. I asked if I ordered one could they still knock off this amount he was suggesting for an ordered one. He said yes and added they have been business as usual and not selling typical of the current Covid market. Short to all of this is he was full of it. None of what he said was true. I called him back a week later left him a voicemail to call me noting I was ready to order a car and asked about the discount he noted. He never called me back. A few days later I called again and spoke to Norm there (very nice) and he at least noted they would be willing to knock of a nominal amount below MSRP to match another dealer's note on doing so should I buy the Subaru BRZ (cousin to this vehicle). Unfortunately, he added orders were not in play right now. I called back a week or so later - last week and asked to speak to Matt Fecteau. Again, I got his voicemail. I shared with him I was disappointed with what he represented especially the sunroof, leather seats, and the changing of the car as it was so farfetched as to be insulting. I invited him to call me back and apologize or otherwise explain why he was representing things that are clearly not accurate and if he did not, I would leave a bad review. I would not recommend this dealership. I bought a vehicle March 23rd. Two weeks later I was looking over paperwork to register vehicle. I saw $2,000. for vehicle service plan I did not ask for. (my bad for not looking it over sooner.) I found out I had to cancel it online. April 11th I did, April 12th they called and confirmed. Never got the credit. May 27th I went to the dealership and they "cancelled it even though they said they weren't supposed to do it that way". Needless to say today is June 17th and still no credit! I inquired on a car was told it was sold, would have bought that same day, than days later was told was available, I asked to leave a deposit was told no, so left work and drove 2 hrs to get there. went through the process, my sales guy left me for an hour without even checking on me after we made the deal and so I waited to sign paperwork. cash deal should have been in and out. IRA Toyota is not the Prime dealership I use to know. I bought my first car here almost 10 years ago and had a great experience and I am sad to say I will never go back to this dealership again. I went there today to put to a deposit on a car and was given the run around that they had to charge $4000 over MSRP per Toyota guidelines. I know this is not true as I had spoke to 2 other dealerships in Maine recently and they are not charging over MSRP. I was then told that I would have to pay a $1000 nonrefundable deposit to hold the car. I told them I needed to call my husband to verify if he would be ok with this as we had been told from other dealerships that the deposit would only be $500 and would be refundable. As I was on the phone with my husband the sales person comes over and tells me that they just gave the car to another customer. I was pretty upset as I was planning to put a deposit down. Then the manager comes out and tells me that if I put the $1000 non refundable and agree to pay the extra over MSRP that he would give the car to me over the other customer. When I was questioning how they are charging over MSRP and the nonrefundable deposit he became irritated. He was very rude, snarky and gave me an attitude. Not at all how a returning customer or any customer should be treated. I felt like I was being scammed and they were trying to pressure me into paying over MSRP and the nonrefundable deposit. Needless to say I left and will never be going back. If zero stars was an option that would be my rating. read more
