The finance person was also very professional and friendly. The neutral - took longer than expected, but I guess this is how the process is when ordering. There was some miscommunication/lack of disclosure on a military discount that we found out day before closing did not apply unless we used their financing. Also, I was disappointed that my near total brand loyalty over decades only was worth $500 discount, but that was what it was. The bad - Took delivery of a new Lexus Rx350 yesterday that had been ordered in early December. We were told by our salesperson that the car would arrive on Tuesday and they would need a couple days to recon and sticker the car. We made an appointment for Saturday. After arriving at our appointment on time, our salesperson was busy with different customers. At first, this bothered me because we had an appointment, but the situation resulted in us going right in with the finance person which ended up speeding the closing process. After the closing, we were taken to a special glassed in room where they process the final delivery. Unfortunately, the temporary plates were not on, and the rim was put on upside down when installed later. The technician did fix it promptly once brought to his attention. Then we moved to the technical part - when trying to log into the app, a different person's name was in my profile - very disconcerting. I was helped through correcting. Once ready for the actual tech support part, our salesperson was available and did that part. The inside of the car had several strings and stickers hanging off that had not been properly removed during the recon process that they had 5 days to complete. Also, the vehicle was quite dusty. The salesperson even commented that she would need to speak with that department about how poorly they delivered this vehicle. Overall - I have the vehicle I want and love. I found the process often frustrating with no real alternative option - Berlin City is the only Lexus dealer in the state, and I felt like the customer service was overly complacent. The dusty car with stickers and hanging strings was a huge let down. We have gone out of state before, but that comes with its own issues. All that being said, the sales and finance staff was super nice; however, the experience needs to match the demeanor.

I purchased my vehicle from Land Rover Scarborough, and unfortunately what should have been an…read moreexciting experience has become weeks of unnecessary frustration, poor communication, and wasted time. Before I agreed to purchase the vehicle, I made it clear that a second key was important to me. I travel with my senior dog, and having that second key is necessary for me to safely do that. The dealership agreed to provide it as part of the sale. After I purchased the vehicle, Corey contacted me through Facebook Messenger at approximately 10:30 at night asking me to contribute hundreds of dollars toward the cost of the second key. I found it incredibly unprofessional to be contacted that late through Facebook asking for money toward something that had already been agreed upon before the sale. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. After weeks of trying to get the key resolved, Land Rover Scarborough told me to contact Audi Bangor and schedule an appointment. I did exactly that. I rearranged my day, arrived for my 3:30 appointment, and Audi actually took my vehicle in to begin the process. Only then did Audi discover that Land Rover Scarborough had never ordered or paid for the key. So I drove away with nothing accomplished. I had been sent to an appointment that could never have been completed because the dealership hadn't taken care of its responsibility beforehand. Land Rover has since acknowledged that they dropped the ball. Now I'm being told that once the key is finally ordered and paid for, it could take approximately another two weeks to arrive. Essentially, after weeks of waiting, the process is starting over because it wasn't handled correctly in the first place. There was also another major communication issue before I even purchased the vehicle. While Corey and I were communicating through Messenger, he sent me a link to photos of the vehicle from Goodwin Chevrolet in Oxford. Since nobody told me otherwise, that's where I drove to see it. After making the two-and-a-half-hour trip, I learned the vehicle was actually located about another hour south in Scarborough. At no point beforehand was that made clear to me. Taken individually, mistakes happen. But when you add all of this together, it shows a pattern that has completely soured what should have been a great experience buying a new vehicle. The sale itself wasn't the problem. The follow-through afterward has been. I've spent weeks chasing something that was agreed upon before I purchased the vehicle, was asked late at night through Facebook Messenger to pay hundreds of dollars toward it, and was ultimately sent to an Audi appointment that couldn't even be completed because Land Rover Scarborough hadn't ordered or paid for the key. As I write this review, I still do not have the second key or even a confirmed appointment for when this will finally be completed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Land Rover Scarborough. Buying a vehicle shouldn't become this difficult once the paperwork is signed.

This place is an absolute scam job. I understand towing happens, but there's no excuse for the lack of professionalism and poor customer service. I'm an honest young man, and I can promise you that these people are just no-good. On 03/25/2026 I brought my 2010 E83 X3 in for a free recall repair. I am a mechanic myself, and I have a high level scan-tool that I use to fix my own cars. I have 100% time-stamped proof that the car had zero BSD-related codes before going in for the recall repair. The only codes it had were for an unplugged Eccentric Shaft Sensor that was causing the car to idle awkwardly if it was plugged in. The car is ready, recall repair "went well" they said. I get 5 minutes away from the dealership in my car and THREE brand-new error codes I've never seen before pop up on my scanner. They were BSD faults, meaning the communication between the Engine Computer and the electric Coolant Pump/Oil Level Sensor/Alternator was somehow disturbed or damaged. THE TECHNICIAN WOULD HAVE HAD TO REMOVE 2 of those parts to complete the recall, because in my case, they HAD TO remove the oil pan to find broken bolts from the recall problem. I messaged their Service Manager/Advisor. I don't have anything against the guy, I just want this shirking-off and blameless demeanor solved. Me: "Hey, I have 3 new codes. Any way the technician maybe forgot something, or pinched a wire?" Advisor: "No. Those are completely unrelated." I really, really, REALLY regret taking his word for it. Today, 3 months later, the car is completely useless -- stemming from ONLY those BSD codes. Which, again, were incredibly likely (literally a 99.9% chance) caused by the technician performing the recall. Considering they were not there before the X3 went into the dealer for service. The 0.01% chance it wasn't their fault is just my inner mechanic and nice-guy nature trying to be fair. Let's be real, obviously it was the shop visit. You don't even need to have years of automotive repair experience to connect these dots. Earlier this week, the severe problems started with 16.0V voltage surges, caused by that BSD communication line being scrambled. I messaged the advisor and let him know that these voltage surges were causing other electronics to break, and I had to replace the alternator out-of-pocket. Then, this morning, the Coolant Pump completely gave out. Electronic Coolant Pump reading 0 RPM (it's completely dead). Car now cannot be driven or even operated for longer than 60-120 seconds without risking flash-boiling coolant, warping the cylinder head, and/or blowing the head gasket. BSD codes cause this by forcing the Pump into a default "safety" mode where it operates at 100% speed 24/7, because it's unable to receive BSD commands from the Engine Computer (DME). Over time this causes the electronics inside the pump to burn out from excessive heat, and it wears down the impeller's mechanical bearings. I messaged the Advisor again, using a bit of my own technical expertise to try and explain to him WHY and HOW this was VERY likely their fault. I wasn't rude at all, I was just straight to the point and technical in my analysis/explanation. I even thanked him several times for speaking with me and even considering taking a look at the car again. Well, now they're "not making any promises" and are only willing to look at it. Which means they need to "investigate themselves" to see if these problems were caused by the recall repair. I live a 3-hour drive away in the mountains near Sugarloaf. No way I'm towing the car 150 miles to have them act blameless and charge me up the wazoo. WE ALL KNOW what "Investigate" means. They have a bias and self-interest, just like any other business. You'll get this impression from reading the other reviews targeted at the service department. There is absolutely NO WAY they're going to fix this for me without trying to charge me some exorbitant amount, claiming the problems are somehow "unrelated". It's not rocket science. They want money.
