    Beef Shawarma Sandwich
    Arash K.

Hidden gem in the area. Falafels are always made fresh but his best item imo is the Beef Shawarma sandwich. Served in an airy French baguette. Better than other shawarma places I've tried (house of falafel/falafel drive in). Mohammed only makes them Friday-Sunday, well worth the wait. Prices affordable and always give a decent quantity.

Falafel was so yum. Chef gave me a sample to try while I waited, which I appreciated. The meal really filled me up and it was so good!

I decided to give it a try and was informed of the Gluten Free pita option. That clinched the purchase, and the taste guaranteed a return. Today, we sat down for a light lunch and chose to sit outdoors. We ordered chicken hummus with Gluten Free pita. I also got mint lemonade, which was not overly sweet and very refreshing. The service was prompt and courteous. They took plates as we finished without being intrusive. They asked about food allergies and when I said dairy, gluten, and eggs they confirmed it was a sensitivity rather than an allergy. They helped me choose my take home hummus. I will come here over and over. I have missed Mediterranean food and this hits the spots.

The hummus is of course their signature and is some of the best around, so thick and creamy. I ordered the falafel pita which was tasty, fluffy pita, crispy falafel, and very heavy on the hummus. We ordered a Muhammara dip appetizer which was delicious (walnut red pepper). They give complimentary pickled slaw and hot sauces. On my last visit I tried the Shakshuka which was soo good. Service was great, food was out quick, and plenty of water refills.

It's decent if you get it delivered, but nothing beats eating it there, hot and fresh! I have tried both the burgers and the plates, can't go wrong with either. For the burger I'd recommend the Texan burger that has BBQ sauce because the sauce is very well done, it has the right tang and flavor for BBQ sauce and the meat is cooked very well. I love the grilled onion and pepper mixture they put in it as well, complements the bbq sauce perfectly. If you get fries on the side the best part is you can dip them in the bbq sauce drippings from the burger, now that's a pro tip! I'd also highly recommend the chicken plate. Everything on the plate is well thought out and delicious. The salad has a nice light honey mustard dressing, the basmati rice is seasoned and cooked to perfection, the pita it comes with is warm and every so slightly crisp and the chicken is beautifully cooked and drizzled with a special white garlic sauce. They also give you a hot sauce and yogurt sauce on the side which is great to dip each bite in (if they don't give you these sauces make sure to ask for them on the side!) Service: I always get helped right away and they are very accommodating with requests like extra sauce and sometimes I even order ahead for dine in! Like I basically call in saying I'll be there in 15 mins and I want to eat there and then when I get there the food is ready and served asap :) Pricing is average, you're going to spend about $20-$25 for a solid meal here and they don't skimp so it's worth it. Ingredients are also a cut above so that's nice. As for ambiance, it's not the prettiest spot, but the seating is comfortable and they always have a table available. They could benefit from a proper central air heating/cooling system and the floors should probably be changed at some point, but they do decent job keeping the place generally clean though. This one is an easy 5/5 when it comes to the food!

The gyro meat was soft and tasty but on the salty side. The Hummus was good especially topped with the chili sauce and pita. Chili sauce tasted like chili and salsa mixed together; added a little spice and slight sweetness. Pita was soft, fluffy inside and toasty grilled outside. The salad has a vinaigrette dressing which had sweet citrus flavor; complemented the other items on the plate. The Basmati rice was yummy, with butter flavor. The Falafel was soft almost fluffy inside vs dense. The outer fried layer had a nutty taste with cumin with slight spicy flavor. The Beek Kabab was ok. A bit tough but good seasoning. Also a bit expensive for $21 with only about 5 pieces of beef chunks. The Cheeseburger was ok. They had the self serve water cooler by the window so it doesn't really stay cold because it's directly hit by the sun. Good place to get food to go. You order using the kiosk tablet. They brought the food pretty quickly.

As much as Mazra is great at/known for their meats, they also put so much thought and care into their vegetables. For example, our favorite mezza is their Whole Cauliflower, which is a massive cauliflower head that's roasted and then coated with a lemon tahini dressing. (They also give you more lemon to squeeze on it.) The cauliflower always comes out perfectly roasted; the inner parts are tender and toothsome, while the outer parts are crispy and a deep, golden brown. Another great vegetable option is their Veggie Plate, which is a plate overflowing with delights on a bed of their rice: falafel; a segment of their cauliflower; roasted broccoli and potatoes; their saffron mushrooms; and a halloumi roll. Each item is about as perfect as can be, and the sheer quantity makes it a fantastic deal. Of course, we still love their shawarma plates, which you can get with either chicken or steak shawarma. The meat comes thinly cut and tender, and somehow still a bit juicy! The plates are also a great value, since they come with a ton of great items that pair well with the meat. These include a rich, savory sauce (toum [garlic sauce] with the chicken, tahini with the steak) and two of their amazing sides. My favorite sides are the baba ghannoush (creamy and earthy) and their fries (golden, crispy, and pillowy). They continue improving the space, too. The pickup window makes it so much easier to get takeout, and they've really dialed in the flow of the inside and back courtyard seating areas.

The place was buzzing at that hour. I ordered the lamb chops cooked medium with basmati rice. The lamb was so tender and full of flavor. My husband ordered the Chicken BBQ plate with garlic roasted potatoes. I'm really not into Mediterranean food but I was curious about all the rave about this place and I must say, I loved it! Before our meals, we tried the free Turkish tea, quite strong for me, added several sugar packs but no milk available. However, this place is still a win! The service and ambiance, solid. Welcoming staff. It did not disappoint. I'm coming back!
