There's one in Fremont, but also on in Mountain View, which isn't too far from me. So on a different night, I decided to give this place a try. Short answer: it's REALLY good! Long answer: It's a very very small place. It's got that 80's vibe to it... it's like Falafel Drive-In but with chicken! The staff was nice... although it seemed like there was only 1 front-of-the-house ( I couldn't see in the back). And he was doing EVERYTHING... preparing the food, packaging it up, taking orders.... And it wasn't like the place was super busy at 7:30p on a Thursday. In fact, no one was in front of me, but I still had to wait 5 minutes or so for him to take my order. But finally the order was fired up, and he immediately told me it will take about 15 minutes, because everything is made fresh. Nice! I kinda lost track doom-scrolling, so I peeked my head up every once in a while. I guess he thought I was being impatient, but he assured me, 5 more minutes... Eventually, he called me over, and I took the thing home. Keep in mind, with traffic... it took about 30 min to get home. So the food was getting a little cool. But it was still VERY crunchy, and tasty. My wife immediately took a bite and said it was SO GOOD. She had the 2 tenders and a side (french fries), while I had the chicken burger. The burger was HUUUUGE. I yielded and got a knife to cut the thing in half so I could eat it properly. Even though it was 30 min... the chicken was still super crispy and had a nice satisfying crunch. It blew CFA out of the water, tbh. Tho I still love CFA! Anyway, this place is really really good. If you're opening a food truck and calling it kebab, at least use proper lavash. There are plenty of places selling lavash that actually works for kebab. Wrapping ground meat around a skewer doesn't suddenly make it kebab. I ordered 2 Adanas and the guy responded with "why Adana, just get kofta instead." Weird attitude for no reason. I really don't like unnecessary over familiar behavior like that. I didn't come there to be told what I should eat. And honestly, the "Adana" barely tasted different from the kofta anyway. Didn't enjoy it at all. Even if I judged it as plain kofta, I still wouldn't have liked it. The sweet and spicy fries are just Cajun fries with cheese and sauce topped on, so I would go with the Cajun fries. The mashed potatoes here are good, very butter and cream forward. The service here for ordering has been spectacular. Do note that for the most part, they sit in the back so just act confused and/or make some noise and someone should come and help you. They got the World Cup playing right now. The tables themselves are clean enough and not too sticky considering. There were packets of ketchup and a little cup of mayo/tartar sauce as well. That said, the fish looked and tasted like what you can get in bulk frozen from Costco, which I understand some restaurants and food trucks do. For the steep $16 price though, I was expecting better quality and a greater quantity. This could easily pass as a kids meal rather than an adult meal.
