Two months ago, my friends and I discovered the Sunnyvale location of Desi Pizza House. We fell in love with their food and service so we took more friends to visit that location last Sunday. When we came, we were told the oven wasn't working and they invited us to come to their Mountain View location which was close by. The owner even made a nice gesture by calling that location and tell them to give us a very good discount. That was so sweet of him. We drove to this location and talked with the staff. They were very friendly and told us they knew we were coming :) That made us feel very welcome. We ordered two pizzas with different toppings and again, the food came out quickly. It was so delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. This was the first time some of our friends had Indian pizzas and they were blown away. We were also happy that this Mountain View Desi Pizza House location is only 3 miles away from our home. The Sunnyvale location is 2 miles away from our gym where my friends and I often do our Sunday workouts. They are both perfect locations (and the inside is nice and clean). Their pizza was so good! They pack a lot of toppings with a decent amount of dough to make it so filling. Toppings are Indian inspired dishes, it was very unique and very delicious. Service was decent, and there are plenty of seatings. However you can do pick ups which is also convenient. read more

We came around lunchtime on a week day, so it was empty inside. We ordered a half-butter chicken half chicken tikka pizza with a side of achari wings. We opted to eat in and were given some paper plates. It came out surprisingly quickly! We enjoyed the butter chicken side more - it had a lot more flavor to it. The chicken tikka was surprisingly bland. We liked how much chicken was sprinkled on top - it almost looks like more chicken than pizza. The achari wings were decent. Tasted a little freezer burnt, but the seasoning was tasty. When reheated, it'll make your house smell delicious too. read more

Best pizza ever. We love their Shahi Paneer pizza and we recently tried their cheese pizza too. The shahi paneer packs so much flavor and just the right amount of herbs and spices. It's just a good as leftovers too. I always want to try a different pizza from their menu, but I just love the shahi paneer too much. As someone who lives in Mountain View and sometimes finishes with work at 9:30 PM, I am always appreciative whenever there is a place (even if it may not be the healthiest) besides McDonald's that is open past 10:00 PM. I decided to try Desi Pizza one night after I left late from work. I am still on the hunt to find the perfect Indian pizza place in the Bay Area and while Desi Pizza House may not win the title, they still do a fairly decent job in providing a good Indian pizza. I got the half and half with Aloo Chaat and Panner Vjayawada. The Aloo Chaat was pretty tasty but the Paneer portion was just okay, which was actually ironic as I was expecting the opposite. The paneer portion was just burdened with jalapeños, which I understand for the Indian audience but they really masked the actual flavor of the paneer and other ingredients, which affected my impression of that portion of the pizza. I've come to realize that a quality pizza is mainly dependent on the quality of the crust and the crust here at Desi Pizza House is pretty good. I wouldn't mind even ordering an American-style pizza here. It is pretty unusual for me to give a place that is open past 10:00 PM in the Mountain View area a rating of less than four stars as long as they serve semi-decent food. However, being open late aside, Desi Pizza House is still a pretty decent place to grab an Indian (or even American) pizza. read more

Truly this is a magical place. I don't even live in California, but if my bestie from Alasksa knew this place existed I would fly her down in a heartbeat. Desi Pizza House is so underrated that I'm really stoked that they are located around the block to where I'm staying. I am a huge fan of Indian cuisine and who doesn't love pizza. While I have never considered a marriage of the two I must confess the idea made me hungry and the photos posted certainly helped. The wait time was reasonable, the facility clean and the staff polite and helpful. The menu offers a wide array of food choices, traditional and otherwise. For me the Buttery Chicken Pizza had my name on it. Like most I eat with both my eyes and mouth and the appearance was as appealing to look at as it was to eat. The pizzas in both classic flavor and Indian flavor are all very delicious. However, they did not have delivery available until 1130. I called in an order 30 mins before pickup and the pizzas were not made when I arrived. I waited another 20 mins until they were done. TLDR Butter Chicken Pizza! I have a confession to make... I LOVE Indian Pizza. I love Indian food (improbably, since I don't like spicy!) and I love Pizza! So to me, it's a match made in heaven! First time, I had this perfect mashup was about 15 years ago in Los Gatos, near my old workplace. Since that place closed, I haven't had a decent one since, and I've looked! The first sign of trouble is, you don't actually see the sign for this place. It's called Fast Pizza, instead. Second problem is the word... Fast. As in, this place seems to be primarily meant for take-out (like Pizza Hut is nowadays). There were only 2 small tables in the place, with chairs that were a size too high. This is not a good first impression. We managed to take the high table, that only had 2 high chairs for the 3 of us. Awkward! But the pizza was worth it! I'm super glad the guy taking the order asked us if we like Cilantro on it. NO! I hate that herb, and I'm super glad the guy asked us about it. The butter chicken wasn't that spicy, which was right up my alley. The chicken itself was baked very well... juicy and not dry at all. And the sauce was simply delicious. Much better than any marinara sauce. I think if I lived close by, I would gladly come to this place. I really like the pizza, it was flavorful, chicken was juicy and the dough was fluffy. Very tasty Indian style pizza! I've ordered serveral times now and the pizza was always very tasty and done pretty quickly. We had the chili paneer pizza which was sooo good that we reordered it again. The chicken tikka pizza was great too, but the chicken was a little bit too dry. We ordered one XL meat pizza and one vegetarian pizza for delivery, but both ended up being identical pizzas- both meat. This was a problem because several of our guests were vegetarians and ended up without anything to eat. Mistakes happen, so we called the restaurant, hoping they'd make it right and send the missing veggie pizza, even offering to return the extra meat one since we didn't have enough meat eaters for two meat pizzas. Instead, we got a lot of back-and-forth, and the person on the phone finally said we'd have to come pick it up ourselves, which wasn't possible. He then said he will connect me to the manager, I was put on hold, only to be hung up on. It was disappointing and frustrating to have half our group leave hungry, especially when a simple correction could have resolved the issue. Response to owner: we ordered one vegetarian pizza and I cannot say whether the error was miscommunication while taking the order, preparing the order or delivery.
